  1. Plasti Dip is my choice. Is very durable but will peel right off without a trace. Comes in several colors like orange, green and white as shown. Also no metals in the paint which is vinyl I believe.
  2. I agree mostly with what you say. To me though, there must be a reason they went to the added expense to provide the single charging cable if there was no issue using the three cable. As you point out, the different lengths, maybe more contact area on the contacts have something to do with it. Anyway, I think a lot was lost in the translation as you mentioned.
  3. Interesting the wear pattern. Seems the bottom of the ear is the tightest viewing the wear pattern. I think you will have no more wear with the new shaft set up. Thanks for the reply and good luck.
  4. The black widows are fine phones and the Audiosears are commonly used in many more phones. I believe they are 32 ohm speakers. I think you must do a little more research to find the NRR rating on all three phones shown. Good luck everybody.
  5. Hi UNOX, Yes this is correct. It clearly shows as you point out that the three dongle charging cable charges the RC, coil, & the WSAll, WSAll XL head phones. It also charges the Ml-6 & MI-4 pin pointers. Then it clearly shows the single charging cable charging the WS6 module ( puck ). The WSAll phones and the WS6 (puck) are two different things. If you read carefully you will see this. Also previously (if you read) on page 34, it clearly shows the WSAll & WSAll XL are (phones) sold separately which have built in electronics ( don’t use the WS6 puck ). Also on page 44 ( Accessories ) it shows the WSAll phones for sale. Also as your red arrow points out the three dongle has a min. “B” connector and the single charging cable is a “C” size connector which is slightly bigger. That is why the three dongle keeps falling out of the puck. I assume the three dongle was used with the Deus l and they added the single for the new WS6 puck. I admit it is poorly written and you must read very carefully all the info supplied in order to charge properly.
  6. All the phones I listed have NRR ratings. That is known as NRR, noise reduction rating not db rating. 28 NRR is about as high as any phones give. 17 NRR is about the lowest. It basically relys on the thickness of foam inside the muffs to get the NRR. There are noise canceling muffs for fire arms a bit better but not for our sport. Wish you luck on finding what you want.
  7. Mine blinks on and off as you move the connector. Not sure if normal. I didn’t like the note push hard to connect and it still does not seat all the way. I would not recommend to a friend or maybe I got a lemon.
  8. I think your better off with the stock one.
  9. The phones I suggested all have dB ratings and by no means are cheap. One set is rated at 131 dB and that’s pretty damn loud !!! All I have done for 40 + years is salt water hunt. I have just about got it figured out lol. I also have hard wired phones of my choice for the water so until my WSA ll XL phones show up, I’m as happy as a pig in mud. As always good luck everybody.
  10. I count myself so lucky not to have all the issues with my Deus ll. I have owned an 8 bank charger for years and years as many detectors from Minelab I own and others, did not supply one cable with several dongles for phones, and machines so no problem. I also read the instructions first and never tried to charge the WS6 puck with the three way as the instructions tell you it is for the WS4 & WS5 so forcing it into the puck probably results in damage of sorts. Anyway I’m loving my Deus and thank the good Lord and did as instructed and read the entire manual before I started with the detector. Good luck everybody.
  11. 10/4. When you get a replacement I would think you would not subject yourself to the back phones again.
  12. guess you did not read my post. All accept the puck. Detecting DooDads, Serious Detecting.
  13. I’m sorry to hear all your troubles and hope they get ironed out quickly. I saw the back phones as a joke when I first opened the box and have never used them. I have a set of phones from doodads that the WS6 module fit on that have never failed me yet. I am on a list for the WSAll XL phones but the doodads work fine in my salt water environment. I wonder if it’s the phones or the WS6 that failed? Although I have a third party CF shaft, I have had no issues with the stock shaft as many have. I guess I have been lucky. I also have never had the RC come off either shaft but I do have vet wrap on the handle built up quite a bit, below the RC that prevents me from sliding my hand up into the bottom of the box. I suspect that is the cause of so many knocking the RC off it’s mount. I have a friend that uses a bungee and it also knocks the box off. I have coiled my antenna wire and installed inside the shaft and also wired a set of MSA muffs with piezo’s I installed for water detecting when over knee deep. All and all I love my Deus which in my book is leaps and bounds over my Equinox 800 in every aspect. Guess I was just lucky. Hope all things work out for you. Good luck everybody.
  14. I have had no problems and with the 11” in the water.
  15. It works just fine. The trick is to coil the antenna wire like the CTX so it can collapse for storage and transport. Good luck to you.
  16. Yes the same guy and the same for me and my Tarsacci , have not used it since the Deus arrived but will keep it for now and the same for another friend of mine who can’t lay the Excal. down. Anyway very nice ring.
  17. Dang Cliff, really nice. I wonder if you know who will lay down his Tarsacci? 😁
  18. Well you are old !!! I just hope everyone down here buys a new NOX and maybe a Legend, they are much better machines. 😇.
  19. The list for the Deus ll as you put it is much mirrored by your favorite machine I think. The shaft on the Excal. is most always replaced for a more conventional such as hip mount, behind shoulder or your favorite, over under after market shaft. The hard wired coil ( only two choices, 8”&10” ) calls for a interchangeable coil mod. The hard wired POS headphones also call for replacement or mod for interchangeable phone mod. The ever present control knob failure of the blue inserts is a reality that must be dealt with high priced Minelab replacements or third party after market replacements. Most always a battery swap to lipo battery packs and yearly replacements of control knob sealing O rings rounds out the list keeps getting longer and longer. They both fall very close in price also, with one with cutting edge new technology and the other 25 year old technology. Yet, this is your machine of choice, sooooo, don’t be so quick to write off the Deus ll. Yes it has its failures, but I tell you, In my book the Deus ll is a whole lot of bang for your bucks. I know in the beginning CD made a lot of idiotic comments directed towards you and the Excalibur, that probably did not help your reviews on the Deus. Don’t let an idiot run your fun with this machine. Give it a chance, in the long run, I think you will like it. Nobody has stuck behind the Fisher AQ more than you and I and it’s because you have taken the time to learn the machine and know where and when to use it. The same can be said for the Deus ll I think. Get up off some of that money you got and buy one 😂. Just keep it up in MD. and don’t bring it down here !!! I have enough top caliber looters swinging one now as it is. Look forward to your visit and take care.
  20. I guess Kenny is Guru. Hahahahaha yes gigmaster is one of them lol. That man is rough on everything. I think he broke 4 or 5 NOX coils and three or four Nox’s. The other is mumbles man, another one of Max’s old hunting buddies. For those who don’t know, the Deus uses only one rubber washer on one side of the coil. What they call a spacer on the other. I think that will be a problem for salt water beach hunters. After all, the machine has three beach programs. You would think this would have shown up in testing. I run a aftermarket CF shaft that the clevis uses two rubber washers, one on each side. So does my friend John who like me has seen no wear. I’m not sure that one sided rubber washer will hold up on the beach. We shall see. Keep in mind these guys have years and years of water hunting so regular cleaning is not the problem. Good luck everybody and thanks. You water hunters check those ears.
  21. Hi all. I have two friends who are both experiencing wear on the inside of their Deus ll / 11” coil ears. Has anyone else seen or heard of this ? Mine is perfectly fine at the moment. We are all salt water, damp, wet sand hunters. Thanks
  22. That’s the calmess ocean water I ever saw. Looks like the Chesapeake Bay on a calm day.
  23. No, I get the tent stake double blip with the 8 1/4 setting. Never seen a nail yet except the test piece. I have not used mute. Beechnut has I think.
