  1. My clock seems to keep perfect time. 0.71 update. Just checked it and all is good. Guess I’m just lucky.
  2. I am jealous here in Virginia. Sand being pushed in by the truck load !!! Even my AQ can’t reach the gold. 😩
  3. I am I am sorry to hear about your ankle and wish you a speedy recovery. I really am. I also am sorry that you did not see JMHO. I guess it best not to comment if you question something on a video. Only if you agree should you have an opinion. A bit snarky answer, but it is just my opinion. I am sincere when I say I hope your ankle heals soon.
  4. You weren’t in a gold field. You said it was 5 on a scale of 10, moderate mineralization according to the Legend. And as close as the Deus coil was to the targets I do believe they were balanced out. Why not balance a foot away. Same soil I would think.
  5. With silencer at 0 is it possible with that coil you ground balanced out the gold targets . Why GB so close to the targets. A reactivity of 1 and silencer at 2 would yield much better results I think. JMHO
  6. Mine was way off when that thread was started. I reset and it has been spot on every since. I wonder if updates could cause the time to stop momentarily?
  7. I would love to see a depth test similar to the Deus ll depth test video. One of the best I have ever seen. La Torche just posted it by coincidence on another Deus thread. Perfect timing.
  8. I too have never used a coil cover on any machine until now. I am only quoting the warranty section on the coil in the Deus ll manual. At the cost of this coil, I will not give them an opportunity to refuse replacement due to a coil cover. Read the manual.
  9. Nice !!! Just a reminder, don’t run that coil without the coil cover. Warranty states if any scratches on the bottom of coil are observed, warranty is void.
  10. One of the coils Eric tried was a TDI test coil you had made. Had not been potted yet. No sense to list it. I have found that 10uS is the sweet spot for me here on the east coast salt water. I very rarely use 7uS except high on the slope after storms looking for chains. I don’t think there are any coils deeper or quieter than the 12” & 8” stock coils and Eric’s 10” once tuned properly.
  11. I will also add, that the stock 12” coil is as deep or deeper than all the coils that were tried. I don’t think you can do any better than the 12” and 8” stock coils and the 10” Foster coils that I sold. Good luck everybody!
  12. Mono. That does not rule out the DF though. Measure the ohms value. If it’s right around 3 ohms it should work. Again these test were preformed by Eric Foster.
  13. I have found the mail. Some are Whites coils, some coiltek and a couple test coils for the TDI. I can tell you any coil around 300>375 uH and 3 ohms resistance should work. However the cable used may be an issue. The AQ uses a mini coax and that is what we finally ended up using. A Belden 1808 A 2 C 3 0 shielded video cable. The following were bench test only. It will still work with a 5 ohm coil but slightly less depth due to the lower pulse current. These were tested with their original cables. Again bench test. Until we changed to the mini Belden, I shipped several coils back after field test were unacceptable. I can tell you i X rayed the stock coils (8”) & (12”) and there is nothing special about their construction. I did not include the 2 TDI test coils as they are not available. Whites 12” TDI Whites 7.5 Dual Field 11” Goldscan 2 DF 1992 vintage Coiltek 14” x 9” elliptical mono Coiltek 15” mono Nuggetfinder 24” mono The last 3 need an added resistance of 2.2 ohms to bring them close to the 3 ohms required. The resistor will get warm so it needs to be in a box. Above water only.
  14. I have a list of either seven or nine coils that Eric powered up with the AQ. A couple had to have some dampening but I believe 7 worked straight out of the box. I don’t think you will hurt the machine though. They will either work or not. I have hundreds of mails over the years so it may take awhile to find. I’ll let you know.
  15. My Tarsacci is deep but to put it bluntly, the audio sux. Not so much the ping pong but the clarity and volume. Now Aaron has one that was made for a hearing impaired customer. Now it is what you need. Different frequency and tones. I asked Dimitar could he do that to mine. His answer was no. 😥. I know Dew asked for suggestions on what the new Tarsacci should be like, as Dimitar was curious. Don’t know what ever came of that. He definitely has the best customer service of all the machines I own. He will talk to you on the phone anytime.
  16. Steve, excellent and speedy response to my questions. Thank you.
  17. Well it could if they are series but my money says they are parallel and still 3.7v. That would give it more current, the work horse of the battery. Don’t know how many mili amp the NOX is. JMHO. I also think that they did this type of release to help stop the Deus ll sales that may have also slowed the NOX sales and help insure a certain amount of Manticore sales. Good luck everybody. Big weekend coming up for the beach guys.
  18. And it might be to help with run time between charges with the extra bells and whistles.
  19. Thanks for your reply. I think you missed my point. Yes it has a salt mode as I stated. Are there any videos of it on a salt beach ? That clam shell coil will only be good for a couple inches of water before it wears you out holding it down. I’m interested what it is doing to compensate for the salt. Is it just dumbed down or some new technology or combination of both? I think this is a Steve Herschbach question.
  20. I understand this is more than likely a nugget machine. But it does have a salt mode so I am interested in that. Are there any videos available on salt beaches and jewelry? I’m curious what the machine is doing to salt in salt mode. Thanks
  21. Hi Clive. I do not think this is entirely correct after many hours of conversations with Eric. Maybe shoot him a mail and see if he saved his results. The manual does reference that tone and mute share the same frequencies but that is not correct. Mute and volcanic share the sam frequencies. That leaves AM and tone as the remaining frequencies. I do believe he is off a bit on the tone mode but your example of tuning is correct.
  22. Never ever should you have out of pocket money on a warranty issue. Just my thoughts. Good luck to you with your newRC.
