  2. Well they had 2’s with the NOX (600) & (800). So maybe the Manticore will be offered in 2 versions of sorts 🤔
  3. I had asked Carl to take care of that and another on Friendly. Thank you.
  4. I am doing my best to leave the information for Eric’s funeral here for those that may not check in regularly. If you are going to remove the post could you please add the info for others who might not have seen it yet ? Eric Foster service on Zoom Friday the 25th at 2pm British time 851 2635 9266 passcode 251122
  5. I do not know, but in another video by Calabash, he says the lower shaft that comes with the 13x11 is sturdier than the previous lower shafts. Again I do not know. I would wait on buying another lower shaft until I tried the new 13x11 shaft. We shall see. As far as the weight ( 3oz ) ? maybe a coil centering device would negate this extra weight by shifting the coil back a bit ? Anyway, just a thought. Good luck everybody.
  6. For those who would like to attend Eric’s service, it will be on Zoom Friday the 25th at 2pm British time 851 2635 9266 passcode 251122
  7. She asked me to post in Eric’s behalf. You mentioned earlier you had recently lost touch with Eric. The last five months have not been easy for him. He had shingles, a terrible ulcer on his ankle that caused issues walking and had the need for a hernia operation all at the same time. It seems the operating rooms were tied up coupled with a shortage of nurses because of wage strikes.
  8. For those of you who would like to attend Eric’s service, it will be on Zoom Friday the 25th at 2pm British time 851 2635 9266 passcode 251122
  9. He spoke of you, many many times. I think you effected his life more than you know. Please see his service announcement on this page.
  10. Update on Eric. For those of you who would like to attend his service, It will be on zoom, Friday the 25th at 2pm British time 851 2635 9266 passcode 251122
  11. It is with great sadness that I announce my good friend died Friday of an aggressive brain tumor. Eric was not only a genius, but he was a kind hearted soul. He will always be known for his many inventions in his life. God rest your soul Eric.
  12. Although I was born in Carolina, I live in Virginia. My mountain accent earned my nick name Carolina. May thru Sept/Oct I wear shorts. Generally then I shift to a dry suit without insulation until Dec/March.,with insulation and then transition back. 75 percent Chesapeake bay, 25percent Atlantic Ocean when water hunting. I own wet suits but rarely use them as my Kokatat two piece dry suit is easy to don and duff. I think the waders would not allow a deep enough entry. I’m sure for some they would suffice. I generally find more chest deep than waist though. Thanks for the compliment and good luck.
  13. I understand your thought process. Save time digging all that junk, and there is plenty of it !!! That really pisses me off, why people use the beach for a garbage can. Pull tabs to diapers. They are just damn lazy I guess. This in mind, I am a water hunter. My notch program is learning to stack the odds in my favor, on how water classifies the targets for me. I am a water hunter 90 percent of the time. My dirt is mostly spent on Colonial sites. This picture is all a years worth of water hunts. My three main methods of attack are, notch the iron, dig everything else and location, location, location. Gold can be found from 28 to 85 in this picture. Anything in this picture not jewelry was a stroke of luck and again use of all three methods above. Get in the water chest deep if you want to cut down on the trash and once you hit gold, slow down to a crawl. Work that area hard and use your feet to move some gravel and gain some depth. Gold tends to congregate close together in spots, at least that’s my finding. Good luck everybody.
  14. Get your drill out and start your modifications. Let us know how it goes. As far as gliding over the sand or dirt, I think that would be out.
  15. If at all possible I would like a 8” curved version. Can’t find any at all though for sale anywhere. If you can message me I appreciate it. Thomas
  16. When I travel over seas for detecting, I send my detectors packed on UPS or Fed X to my hotel. Their always there ready and waiting. No problems so far. Just a thought.
  17. The Deus ll is the real deal !!! ( JMHO )
  18. If your scared, say your scared. 😃
  19. I do not push my coil, I swing it left to right. A slight twist of my wrist raises the leading edge and it slides quite easily. So it’s a left right twist of the wrist. I really would prefer throwing the skid plate in the ocean but that warranty statement is screwing me up 😎.
  20. I have a friend who’s RC is always coming off. Seems his hand is sliding up the handle into the bottom of the RC. I have vet wrap on my handle with a generous portion at the top that prevents my hand from sliding up. I have yet to have my RC pop off, yet. 🤞
  21. Has nothing to do with a perceived assault of the superiority of the Deus ll detecting ability. Others have tried to explain to you, from day one, it is simply a jab at a truly funny name for a metal detector. And no one can compare the two detectors as one is out in the wild and one is not. Most everyone no matter what they swing agrees, it’s a weird a$$ name. 😃
  22. I firmly believe ( JMHO ), that the early release was primarily to slow or stop the runaway train sales of the Deus ll. If you drop $1500.00 for a new detector, what’s the odds of doing it again six months later. Although it would be nothing for some, but the majority would not especially after seeing how well the first machine preformed. Again JMHO. MY $1500 fairly new machine is killin it so no Montycure in my future.
  23. Maybe it might be easier to buy a set of “wired” bone phones for audio. Google wired bone phones. Under $40. Sell or keep yours.
