  1. I got a name, how about Oro Vista TD <OR> Oro Vista PI ??? Go ahead and hijack this if you want, just remember where you got, OK? TC-AZ
  2. To answer your first question, what do you mean by fragile? Don't understand? To answer your 2nd question, I don't remember seeing anywhere or any ads with this coil having being offered for sale... Most likely never came with one. Covers or skid plates have no affect on sensitivity or depth in detection of targets. All they do is to provide protection of the detectors coil. Are you still interested in buying my coil?? TC-AZ
  3. Sorry Tyler, I think you meant the lower rod to mount the coil. Here is a pic of the White's rod I was using. TC-AZ
  4. If you mean the original White's coils, yes they either came in white or black.
  5. I don't know? I guess if you are a DIY? Does your coil connector look like this?
  6. It measures 11 1/2" and yes it will work on your detector. Whites detectors back then (20 plus yrs ago) all used 6.592 Khz. Operating Freq. Sorry, no coil cover. TC-AZ
  7. These things I don’t need anymore. Will take Paypal or Postal Money Order. If you want all of them, I can bundle and give you a better price. Thanks for looking. TC-AZ
  8. Great video! I've owned many Garrett detectors in the past, and I truly enjoyed their products. But especially their customer service. It is top notched! BTW, I didn't Vaughn Garrett? Did Mr. Boyd take over the reins?
  9. I might of just walk away from this scene. I'm like a kid who has his face up to the window looking in a toy store or candy shop. You guy's have way to old and cool finds! Great and thanks for sharing!
  10. First and foremost, I agree with RickUK. Most definitely try out your friends detectors. Do plunk down any money yet. If there is something you like, such as weight, features, functionality, then by no means go back and test them again, Then tell him you'll think about it. The days have faded when you could go into a M.D. shop and ask to try different detectors in their test garden, pick one out, buy it or put it on law-a-way. Detectors manuf. now have nice screens, faster processors and many hunt modes for different conditions of terrain and wireless Bluetooth headphones. Most importantly for me is weight. Manuf now you use micro circuitry (surface mounted) components which are a PLUS. Good luck in your purchase. It's a great hobby!! TC-AZ
  11. WOW!!! There's alot of info out here about PP. Just can't wrap my head 🙃 around it!!!
  12. Lost Scout, The internet is a great tool but does not cover everything. The older USGS maps either paper or online are great. Yes, like others that responded, historical societies are another avenue of searching. There is a territorial fair grounds in Albuquerque, NM that I've been to several times detecting. it has been built up with houses here and there. I have to ask permission to detect there and I get some great finds. Good luck in your search. It takes time so be patient. TC-AZ
  13. I have recently been using the XP MI4 and really like it. I find that recharging the MI4 is no big deal. I still go back to my Garrett carrot AT on occasion. I like both of them and they get the job done. Hope that helps. TC-AZ
  14. UPDATE 3/30/24: All of Clive's books have been sold!!! TC-AZ
  15. Thanks for the feedback. Those hours you gave are very respectable for battery usage. Keep up the good work. On my Whites TDI Li ion battery pks; if I'm not using for a couple of months (say 4-6), I will put them back on the charger to top them off. It seems that they deplete sooner than what I expected... Oh Well. In the near future, I will no doubt put together a new set of Li Ion pks like you shown. Thanks again TC-AZ
  16. Joe Beechnut, Correct me if I'm wrong the TDI uses an 8-cell pk. 2 rows of 4 stacked upon itself. It is rated at 14.4 or 14.8 volts nom., right? Lastly, I myself would prefer a bigger guage of wire, such as 14 0r 12 for the Amp draw and charging. Like to hear some feedback on performance in the field on those batteries. Great job. Thanks for sharing 👍
  17. Oh WOW!! Nice find. 50% detector and 50% of luck of the step.
  18. Decided to reduce the prices of the books to further interest. Clive Clynick's books are now $13 ea. Bob Brockett's book on discrimination, now $40. Or buy all for $70... What a deal!! TC-AZ
  19. Thanks to all that responded and advice. TC-AZ
  20. Hi RickUK, I own a V3i that has 10" D2 mounted on it. I also have the SEF 6 x 8 DD. The 10" D2 is "V" rated. Will that pose problems for the MXT? TC-AZ
