Wm 12 Module Taking A Very Long Time To Recharge
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Just a quick follow-up (Thurs. evening). The replacement WM12 is already in the mail back to me from Minelab Americas. I overnighted it to them and they turned it around immediately. Pretty cool Minelab. -
Wm 12 Module Taking A Very Long Time To Recharge
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
Thanks Rob, that's what I have done. The WM12 is still under warranty. I have dropped it in the mail and they will send a replacement for it as soon as they get it. Thank you Jamie at Minelab Americas. And thank all of you here in Detector Prospector land. -
Wm 12 Module Taking A Very Long Time To Recharge
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I just looked up WM 12 recharging problems on the 7000 forum thread and all I found was my own topic from 2018 asking the same question. Pretty funny. -
It is unusual for a WM 12 to take over 24 hours to recharge? That is what I have recently been seeing when I recharge it after being out for about 6 hours of detecting. Does that mean the batteries need replacing? If so, how is that done? I will also take a look at the 7000 threads, but I don't remember seeing anything on this.

Sometimes, Little Things Can Totally Brighten Your Day!
flakmagnet replied to SittingElf's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Fred since I have put on the big coil, I have not even thought about taking it off. It works. I might go back to the stock coil if I was gold detecting, but for everything else, the 15" coil is excellent. fwiw... -
I find the depth meter is the last thing on the Equinox that I count on...it has never seemed accurate.

When I found my largest nugget I still remember my first thought: "Finally..." Don't give up Julie I can almost promise it will come out of nowhere. It will sound perhaps like another birdshot hit, or a piece of junk, but instead, there in your scoop, will be a beauty.

Problem With Bluetooth Connecting To Eq. 800
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Yes Dubious, I was essentially "down" with no bluetooth working, so I had plenty of time to go through the (re)pairing process in inches...it was essentially that the headphones needed a good old fashioned charge-up. -

Hi, yes, I ment to say I plugged the cable that came with the Equinox into a quality usb plug. Thanks for clarifying. -
Problem With Bluetooth Connecting To Eq. 800
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I wound up using another tip that I read somewhere; it said to 'shock' the earbuds by plugging them into high quality chargers (I used what came with the Equinox). That is what I did and when the earbuds were fully charged, they paired and worked just fine. The same with the wireless headphones. Go figure... So a slightly false alarm...I will take it down Steve if it is not useful -
I looked all through the Equinox tips here and didn't find anything that addresses this. I was detecting using wireless bluetooth earbuds that have worked fine for months. I walked out of range for a few minutes and when I came back the detector was running, the headphone symbol was showing on the control panel but there was no sound coming to the earbuds. I turned the detector off, turned the headphones off. Then turned the detector back on, the detector was working I could hear it, then turned the earbuds back on, the headphone symbol showed, the sound disappeared from the Equinox speaker but would not come through on the earbuds and it was the same thing when I repeated the sequence with wireless headphones that came with the detector. I also did resets on the headphones, re-paired with the detector - but the same thing happened. Any advice/help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Good find!

This is a killer post. It says more in a paragraph than whole threads. Detecting is hugely comprised of judgement calls. Anyone who thinks it's a matter of empirically following tones and vdi's is missing a gigantic area of detecting knowledge; experience, judgement and many times intuition and sometimes flat out guessing.

I beach hunt frequently. I've never had an issue with GB in any of the Modes. -

Thank you for the updates guys. I can see this is not a done deal and am not surprised about the lack of specificity. -
The New Land Bill Just Passed By Congress
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Hi Clay, yes I understand it's (much), more than CA, it's just that CA is where I hunt so I concentrated on that. Your post was spot on and I did read the Washington Post, it helped some. Best... -
That was a fun post to read Jeff, thanks for taking the time. You also had some of the best SW detector pro's giving you advice. Looks like you listened. Continued good luck.

The New Land Bill Just Passed By Congress
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Thanks (again) Swamp, I have been doing that with no luck - yet. It will be interesting especially as it relates to several good detecting areas that are right adjacent to Joshua Tree, which you probably are aware of...best. -
Steve, I also have kids and any time spent with them is a privilage. The fact that they might want to join me detecting is almost unfathomably cool, so the sympathetic mention is appreciated. I was just stirring the forum pot a little knowing the secrecy JP (and you for that matter) undertake testing new ML stuff. Hope the weather lightens up a bit there it looks like its been damp.

The New Land Bill Just Passed By Congress
flakmagnet replied to flakmagnet's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
It's appreciated that someone from Florida is posting about CA land bill changes and thanks... but unless one subscribe's to the Sun, it won't allow the article to be read. I have read numerous articles but none of them describe the new boundaries. Anyone else have the info? -
Does anyone know what the details are of the expansions of Death Valley and Joshua Tree National Parks contained in the new bill just passed in Congress? I could not find any details where the expansions are shown.

That's what I say, nothing like a good conspiracy theory to keep things rolling - especially because it's not political.

Prospecting Suggestions Please?
flakmagnet replied to Swampstomper Al's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
Wondering if the 'cave' was the start of a drift mine. The creek pics look as though they have been worked pretty heavily with all the throw rocks on the hillsides. Groveland is indeed great prospecting ground. Search your property carefully, there will be more clues. Good luck. -
Steve said: "... Nice to see a post from you also since I know you are an incredibly busy man these days..." So Steve, what is it you know he is incredibly busy with? I got a funny feeling when I read that.
