  1. The coil connection is my BIGGEST gripe about the AT's!! What kindof minifingered vice grip person came up with that design????
  2. Good write up snd video Keith. I wish the iron audio was adjustable on the AT. I cant run mine in iron on, Gives me a headache. Steve, not thatthis means much, but I have both and pretty much stick with the GBPro most the time. My son has taken over the AT,he loves it. I do seem to notice the GB seems to find more lead, AT more coin type targets when comparing finds at end of the day. If you hunt sites with an abundance of old rusty tin pieces and bottle caps, its easier to i.d. them with the AT.
  3. Well put Ray and very hapy to see you onboard here! I think the best detector is the one you have the most confidence in. I believe it really helps to have that frame of mind that I will find something good. Unfortunately it doesnt work out that way for me too often, lol.
  4. I love my Garret...and its less $$ than the minelab. It will pick up on small stuff too,so should be good for gold thats a few grains and bigger. i dipped mine in that liquid plastic dip to protect against wear n tear.
  5. Theres alot of Deus info on the Dankowski forum. From what was posted there,it is excellent at pulling conductors out of nails using the 18khz setting.
  6. I second the GB Pro. A simple ,lightweight machine that excells in iron and has very accurate I.D. Nice price to. The technrtics g2 is same machine but comes stock with the larger coil.
  7. Very detailed and informative Steve. I think I will give it a try at dome Stockton parks we explorered to death.
  8. ok...are those firehose pants uncomfortably warm to wear??like how do they compare to jeans??
  9. Cool!Unfortunately I dont think we will ever get that kind of help in kalifornia.
  10. I have not been out much lately. So,getting the itch and with a couple hours of daylight left, I hit the creek near my house. I took the gb pro,but left the headphones at home. I detected till sunset, only finding trash. My last target was a 22 bullet. For whatever reason,I sat there for about 30 seconds rubbing the taget against the bottom of the coil, screwing around trying to make that scratching noise the rappers make on s turntable...wierd,I know.As I stand up,I see something grey running across the bedrock outcrop 30 yards away..A Bobcat!! Guess I sounded like a wounded rabbit, lol. Glad I didnt call in a lion! Happy New Year everyone!!!
  11. Thanks for the link Condor. I will check them out for work( roofer). If they work good there, they will work great mining.
  12. Awesome Steve...thanks gor the link ! It was on my to get list. I still prefer a book, but this will do untill I pivk up a copy, and you cant beat the price!!
