  1. I did 250 miles today and have been to the official XP italian dealer. Taking advantage of my next birthday and Christmas, got both 9” and 11x13”. I’ll try to understand pros and cons when compared to the 11”. I’m curious to test them on mineralized ground. Is 9” better than 11x13” on little low conductors on hot soils? Don’t know..
  2. If you take for example a pulse, an ATX or TDI or other P.I and do an air test, you’ll never know the effective power of the machine until you swing the coil above the ground...unless you want to check if the machine is on or off. This is why I think air tests are totally useless.
  3. I think that air tests are almost useless and this is because ground testing is made up of many variables. Mainly mineralization and presence of iron..Did air tests but because I was asked to do them..
  4. That’s really very nice! Congrats! 👌
  5. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. This is a nice input for undecided people like me. And, by the way, very nice hunt! 👍
  6. Thank you guys! I think I’ll get the 9”. Because also the lightness is really important for me because of some problems with my right arm. Swinging with the only 9” coil with the RC hip mounted...yes, I’ll try. Thanks all again for your opinions and help!
  7. Thanks for your reply! I don’t know, maybe I’ll buy the 9 inch because I want to hunt in vineyards and olive groves. With D1 I remember very little difference between 9 and 11 inch coils on little targets while it’s more marked on medium sized target. It’s a hard decision. Anyway I’ll go to the official XP dealer here in Italy in the next few days and decide. 👍
  8. Thanks! I agree with you too! I had 9” about 10 years ago with the D1 but I hunted mostly with the 11” one and I sold it. I’d like to know how the 9” performs on little low conductor targets in mineralized soils compared to 11x13”. I’m very very undecided, as if I had to choose between a beautiful blonde and a beautiful brunette. It’s true talking about 9” like a must have. That’s the truth. But if the 11x13” was strong and performing on little thin target in mineralized soils, better than 9”, I’d know what to buy..
  9. Thanks for your opinion! You’re 100% right and agree with you. Hunting always in open fields, I’m looking for more coverage but I have also a lot of iron. I have to decide because the little one is very light and is super in trashy sites. The 13x11” is heavier. Don’t know. I’d like also to know how it behaves on low conductor buried in mineralized soils. Really don’t know..
  10. Hi guys. Have been using D2 since January with the 11” coil: I think it’s perfect. I’d like to get another coil for Christmas. I’m very undecided. I always hunt in open fields where mineralization is poor but there are areas where it’s very strong. Years ago I had the 9” for my Deus1: how 11x13” performs on strong mineralization? Thanks in advance for your opinions.
  11. 100% agree. Square is more soft while pwm is much more informative as well as being the classic XP sound..
  12. I think this is a very nice forum and I’ll continue to share tests and opinions..
  13. Compliments for your finds and nice report! I know that the “sinking” of a target is given by the soil density with the target density. Sinking will occur until the density of the target is equal to the density of the ground: at which point the target will stop sinking..
  14. That’s what I think. Bought D2 with the 11” and now I’m considering the 9 inch. I had it with my old D1 and want it for D2 to hunt on iron infested site and vineyards..
  15. Last time I used tracking was years ago. Areas where I often hunt are full of hot rocks and don’t want the machine to balance itself. So I prefere to manual ground balance every now and again
  16. Very nice, love these kinds of tests!
  17. This morning I went on the hematite area where last time D2 (V.071) couldn’t detect my very low conductor target in the bottom of a 8 inch hole. The “More tones less depth” test was with a 6” hole because 8 inches were too much. I dug another 8” hole previously wetted with 2 bottles of water. In the bottom of the dry soil hole D2 didn’t detect the target while could 100% detect it in the very wet hole. Tested my own program Focus1 and the program 2 with settings I let see: Pitch tone, discrimination 5, audio response 6, iron volume 5, sensitivity 95, reactivity 2, silencer 0, ground stabilizer 1, bottle cap 00 and notch off. Firmware is the same, V0.71: no depth issue but only a big difference between dry and wet soil. See you next time guys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68D_o2JVAPA
  18. Yes, you’re right! Anyway, as far as I could see, General program is nice and it’s performing on mineralized soils as well..I hope that this difference in depth is due to the dry soil. During next week I’ll come back on the hematite area: hope it will rain a lot otherwise I’ll have to bring a couple of bottles of water!
  19. Thanks for your answer! Yes, I noticed more depth because of the more conductivity with wet ground also with other detectors. And we know the more conductivity of the wet soil because of the water in the soil. But this has been my first “wet vs dry” soil test with D2 and the difference is really big. I’ll try to do a dry vs wet test with the same target because a 2.5” depth difference is really big. We’ll see..
