Was pounding sand at the local beach and at the end of my hunt I scored a beautiful Tiffany & Co. PT950 wedding band. I’m super happy about this find. Thanks for looking!

This is a collection of my last two hunts at a local beach. There really has not been that much to brag about but you just have to stick with it as they say. Yesterday was better than the previous day with the cheap bracelet, cheap ring and the nice 14k cross (that is how it is marked on the clasp but who knows about the other parts of it). The swinging was sparse until I got to a culvert that I normally skip over because of the iron wire in it. Just before I got there I found the coin with a hole in it. It is a 1959 East Africa 1c coin. I've never seen one. That slowed me down with the 3030 and just before I got to the culvert I got the high pitch of a quarter. As it turned out that was the first of 5 $1 coins. This was the only good area I could find and I got nearly on top of the culvert and could still hear targets. I'll go back with the 800 now that it is working again but I need to give it the latest update. I tired of the gridding near the culvert and I went over to where the day before a grounded sailboat had been removed. About a month ago I looked out and thought there was a movie shoot going on and it turned out to be a 40 ft sailboat aground. It looked like it had not been there long and could be pulled out on the high tide. That didn't happen and over the weeks the mast went down and waves pounded it and then a salvage crew from San Diego just removed it by land yesterday. The only thing I got from it was the trash on the right side of the items. After I walked back towards my car I went over the $1 coin area again and found I missed one. It then 'dried up' and it was time to go but I worked my way out on the line that held the coins. I got a signal and looked down in the scoop and it reminded me of the screw scrap but ... it wasn't. Sand was sticking to it and in the top but I knew it was pretty good if real. It does have good markings. Nothing was near so I kept the same line and about 300 yards down the beach was the bracelet. It sounds good but it is cheap. Today I used the 800 at a couple of different beaches and found next to nothing. What a difference. More about that another time.

Amazing what a week of the wrong direction winds can do. Keeping tides very high and pushing sand in...Not Good. But luck was with me the last two hunts and I was able to get into a small section out in the middle of no where and dig some treasures. Four Gold rings and eight silvers.

Hello to all was was away in Vietnam for 3 weeks weeks eating and discovering the country but the crave for beach combing pushed me to schedule all my shifts straight at work then head to the coast. A Strom is battering the UK at the moment but i wasn't really interested in that i had my eyes on a beach which i think has been ignore for a while......not a really good access as the road isn't maintained and i dont have a 4x4 so i need to be careful if i dont want to leave most of my car there😅 So i took my nox which i swap for my CTX in January and headed to the spot at 5 am. Signals started straight away with big lump of brass, then i started to pick up fishing weight one after another then i hit Gold with this nice 9ct 4.45gr alas 9ct.....😪 Then few holes later my DIY unbreakable shaft broke but i brought a super dupa spade so i headed to the car and after a water refill(Was sweating despite the strong winds and low temp) i carried for another 2 hours finding the biggest anti aircraft shrapnells i ever found ,imagine been hit by that.The fishing weight are apparently 70/80s.....and the deus shaft you see on the picture of the broken shaft was actually the one i put inside to reinforce Anyway please find the result in picture,i think that that beach has much to offer will try to do another or two long session with the Nox then i will hit it with the PI.....if i succeed it will means 1 thing...my tenacity has paid off or maybe i am just getting to know the beaches better.............. My day started off with an eyeball find at the post office. I spotted a round object on the ground as I was walking into the post office. I didn't look at it closely until I got into my car. I thought it was some costume jewelry at first until I saw some faint lettering on it. Still, not thinking much of it, I drove 5 miles to hunt a new beach on the lake I've been hunting. I picked a spot and was doing some sampling and not having much luck, very few signals. So, I drove to a new spot and started hunting. First signal was a penny, a good sign, walked about 20 feet and got a solid 21 signal. I thought for sure I was digging a zinc, much to my surprise I found another piece of turquoise jewelry. It's been a while since I've found a piece of turquoise, here I am today with two! Not much else was coming out other than clad, so, I decided to head home and eat lunch. After taking a couple of pictures of my finds, I enlarge the pics and darn near fell outta my chair. The 2 pieces of jewelry are silver and they are made by 2 Navajo silversmiths from different states, but, the makers are related to one another. The pieces were found 5 miles apart, the large one in the parking lot and the small one at the lake. That's one of the many things I love about this hobby, you just never know what weirdness is going to turn up.

Today I had a chance to go out to the beach for a 2 hour afternoon hunt using the 3030 while I wait on my bracket piece from Minelab. Thank you Minelab. Lately I've been working the same beaches which have not been producing much in the way of coin or jewelry finds this month. We've had a bit of energy in some waves but the intervals have been so great that there is no grouping of objects so the beaches are hard to read. When I started I was finding nothing for a few hundred yards and then I got a hit. It was some larger steel trash that I didn't save but I started circling around that and found some of the pieces below. I still had not found a coin. Just because there was something and it was deep I decided to grid mostly because there were no other clues. I doubled my lines up and down across the black sand line and I managed a couple of quarters and the button below the ring. Then I got the key which sounded like a penny. Then the deeper steel parts because they were sounding scratchy. The flattened bottle caps were in there too but at least they were something. During this time an older white guy who looked like a tourist tried to stop me and ask me what the best thing I ever found was. I kinda looked and pointed at my headphones and kept gridding my beach. I didn't want to be bothered. He was not very pleased with me but what could I do? Then I got the high pitch you always love with a 3030 and thought it was another quarter until I looked down into the scoop. Silver I hoped and a honker at that. It felt heavy but not solid ... maybe a biker's ring? I didn't know. It does say .925 but I can't make out the other mark and this picture I have of the backside doesn't capture it either. It weighs just over a half ounce! It fits although I could size it easily because it has a crack. Most of the red is gone. I've looked on the internet and found the same shield design on a stainless steel costume ring but this one is silver. I continued to grid this section of beach for another 30 minutes and picked up the piece of pipe and another couple of quarters before a group of 5 guys came walking by. These are normally the type you don't want to tell anything to when you are on the beach alone. I would have ignored them if it was at night but this one black guy (I use these descriptions just so you know the total story) about 30 asked me what the best thing I ever found was. I lowered my headphones and I said "Since you asked, I'll show you something." I reached into my Minelab pouch and pulled out this ring and his eyes went BIG. Ah ... it was great. His buddies who were local Mexican and black guys too came over and said 'Hey dude, you got a Templar, way to go!' I've got this ring in my hand and the guy who asked me about it reaches down to take it from me to look at it but I'm not letting it go. haha He gave it a tug and then understood I was showing it, I wasn't letting him handle it. He and his buddies went walking down the beach with a nice laugh. I don't think these guys will ever pick up a metal detector. Before I left the beach the first guy who asked me about my finds came walking back and I thought ... I'll show him the ring too. Well, once burned, twice shy, he didn't look at me. I wanted to run after him and tell him I was detecting my pattern when I saw him before and couldn't talk but he was gone down the beach. It was a good afternoon. During the winter here in the Chesapeake bay my main goal is to watch for the best conditions, then try put and myself in the right location to find gold. I seen a Opp coming Monday mornings lowtide, No winds and calm water. Perfect conditions and I knew where to go, a spot that has been very good to me since July 2019. First target of the day a Nice 14k cigar band, 45 minutes later gold ring number two for the day. A Victorian ladies gold ring, no fineness mark. Ring was badly stained. Third and final gold came as water was starting to get rough. Cutting across in the water and headed in I got a strong signal, two scoops and out came a badly stained gold band. Unmarked / No fineness mark which is very common for this beach since it opened in the 1880's. Not many targets this hunt, 3 gold rings, 2 coins, several sinkers and a few pieces of brass in a little over 3.5 hours. Water temps are now in the low 40's, a month from now should really be some great hunting with constant lowtides and NW winds......water will be in the lower 30's but I can do about 4 good hours with my drysuit setup....Thanks for looking...Joe

Beautiful here in central Texas, so I headed down to the lake to see if I could score any jewelry. I made my first pass to the water and was headed back up to the shore when I spotted a park ranger truck pull up and stop. He got out and headed my way, so, I put my gear down and walked straight to him and stuck out my hand and introduced myself. I knew as soon as he stuck out his hand and smiled, he wasn't here to harass me. He told me his name and began to ask me how I was doing and that I should keep my eyes open for arrowheads as quite a few have come from the beaches on the lake. I was able to get some good info from him about which park was the most popular and where most of the swimming took place. He also told me that the lake level was down quite a bit from full capacity and trying to give me an idea as to the best place to hunt might be. I also was told that I'm the only one he's seen hunting on this beach :super: Anyway, after about 10 minutes, he wished me good luck and drove off. The next 3 hours was digging nothing but garbage. Toward the end of the hunt, close to the water, I got a nice, solid, repeatable 9, pinpointed it and grabbed what I thought was a piece of wire. Fortunately I was able to pull it from the sand without breaking it. I was very pleased to see a charm and both ends were intact. I'm pretty sure it's silver from the looks of it. As luck would have it on the next pass and down by the water, within 6-8 feet of the other necklace, I dig another one. Up until this point of hunting the lake I hadn't dug one until today. Unfortunately it's junk, it read 3-4, but, a solid repeatable signal. My settings were as follows Park 2 GB 5 Sens 21 Recovery 3 Iron bias F2 0 2 tones Digging from -1 up

I found this 1946 $2 gold coin in a pendant today. Found with a kruzer in 3 tone mode, disc3,notch 4, gain 92, pp 8 inches, GB 81, range up 25 to 27. Thanks for looking!

Hit the gravel area of the river where I dug up the two silver coins. After a couple of hours of hunting I dug up a nice silver pendant.

You'll have to excuse me as I don't get on the jewelry site much, but I found an interesting one. On my recent beach hunt in Caribbean I scooped this little darling. What I find interesting is the symbol, as I have seem many of these when visiting England. In fact I'm most certain in years past, I have found one in sterling and last year found one in MX that was gold. This one is sterling with a golden heart. Anyone else find these style and types of rings? I'd love to see others finds and the variety of them.

I've been hunting a lake nearby for the last week, so far, every hunt has produce some nice silver or gold jewelry. Today I was able to retrieve 3 more rings, 2 silver and 1 junk. I found something else, but, I'm not sure what it is. Here's my setting: Park 2 Manual GB Sens 22 2 tones Iron bias 0 Tone break +5 up Tons of trash to wade through to find a keeper, but, very satisfying when it happens.

I use my Nox 600 most of the time for coin and jewelry hunting in the super trashy parks in the Denver area. It takes a real beating in all kinds of weather and I must have put 1500 or more hours on it already. The Nox 600 needs more Love😘 in my opinion. It can definitely get the coin, jewelry and even relic job done in really bad soil conditions. I was mostly looking for deep silver today in some of the most trashy areas of the park so I was bouncing back between default Park 2 and a trashy park notched Park 1 depending on the tiny aluminum fragment chatter. Luckily I was in basic Park 2 when I got the coil over this target since it came up as a steady, beautiful, round, medium toned 18 at 7" (3 depth arrows), which I had notched out in Park 1. I had three targets under my 11" coil. Initially I thought it might be a coin spill. I had already dug a 6" 22,23 screw cap and a 3" 13,14 pull tab and moved over to the last target close by which sounded even more beautiful. I was expecting either a giant pull tab, beaver tail, a thick chunk of aluminum, brass shell casing or a large caliber modern bullet. I was super stoked to see that gold. Way to separate targets Nox 600!!!!!!!!!!! And, way to go me for being willing, able (I work out a lot!!!!) and happy to dig what some people think is trash. If I hit a target with tight numbers or even better, just one number with solid tone in the 6 to 23 range I patiently dig it. I get cut, scraped knuckles and frustrated occasionally but if it sounds good I dig it............ I have yet to dig a good quality jewelry target at 10" deep or less with the Nox 600 that didn't sound fantastic. Deeper than 10" anything can happen....... Jeff

We take pride in our finds and many of us display them in a man caves, on our work desks or even give some away as gifts. But we also enjoy sharing the fruits of our labor and the photos bring back so many memories. Now that the 2019 detecting season is over, I'd like to share my 3 favorite finds from the year. But what is even more cool is seeing your hard work and efforts show up for everyone to see. Yes I realize a few folks think it has all been found, but we can show them recent finds from the 2019 year. 1st favorite find of 2019 is a really rare Barber Quarter. In fact IT IS THE RAREST of Barber Quarters minted. I have not had it professionally clean and right now it looks like crap, but of all the coins I have dug up in 40+ years of metal detecting, this is by far the rarest (40,000 minted). It is a 1913-S. it was found with a Minelab EQ-800. 2nd is a gold nugget Specimen that weights over 7 ounces and has 3.55ozt of gold in it. Found with Equinox 800. 3rd favorite find has to do with skill and it was given back to the owner. After 2 different people tried to find a small diamond stud earring with no success, I was called in as a last result. Actually I had been out of town. Anyway, this small 1/4 carat diamond stud was lost in her backyard and she had the spot narrowed down to a 5' area. The EQ-800 with small 6" coil in the Prospecting Mode recovered it. Lets see 3 of your favorite finds of 2019. May 2020 be golden in so many ways with many golden grins & glory.

Haven't seen much action on my local beaches since moving to Oregon these last couple of years. Beaches here are drastically different than my So. Cal. beaches. Took me years to learn my cuts and where to find them at my southern haunts. Now I'm having to learn these new beasts and it's been painfully bare of gold or coins. The beaches near me (Central Coast) are not what you consider bathing beaches. You don't see many people on the sand with blankets. These are dog walking bundle yourself up look for shells and rocks type of beaches. Luckily I also live near a river that runs right into the ocean and it requires a stone jetty to support it on either side. When the high tide pushes the river over the stone jetty to overflow it produces a slew or a calm saltwater wading pool for kiddies and young mothers. A perfect place for a towel to be put down to watch the toddler. This is where I will be finding my GOLD in the future. Ten minutes into the hunt I get a solid 10 on the Nox 800. 14kt, 2.5 gram gold ring with 4 seed diamonds (tested) and an opal. Picked up maybe ten dimes, 10 pennies, 4 nickels, an earring and four lead bullets which also read solid 10's on the Nox. GaryC/Oregon Coast

This thing was just a whisper and quite deep (a little over a foot) about midway between high and low tide lines. Heard the faint sound of a tone and number i hadn't seen before (high tone, 34ish, Nox800). Gold plated silver Russian St George religious ring.

Got out again today since I had it off from work. Could not resist. Found this ring that rang up 12-13 on the EQ800. Although it looked promising there are no markings on the ring. Where there should have been a marking it looks "repaired" in that area. Can't figure out whether it is plated or just some old junk ring. Will try to get it tested at a jeweler tomorrow if possible. Also found a quarter, couple dimes, some pennies and loads of can slaw with wonderful pull tabs. I also noticed since updating that corroded clad pennies ring up low, 17-19. The previous version never did that for me in the couple times I used it. So dunno if I will stick with the update or not. For fun I also ran this ring over my Teknetics T2 and it read 55. *shrugs* it may be a low karat gold but will not know til it is tested.

It was this day a week ago I was on many planes (4 to be exact) trying to get back from Caribbean to Boise, ID. Not only was it quite exhausting, but the beaches had been detected pretty good by others. I could tell the 1st couple hours I was in for some hard hunting. I checked with a lifeguard and sure enough, he said folks with detectors show up almost weekly now. Heck I just watched a video of someone who was at the same place I was. Oh well, at least I did quite a bit better than they. But I still did not meet my expectations for the trip My 1st trip to the place was approx. 10 years ago and I dug 100+ coins a day and probably 3 rings each day. This trip was not even close and I don't think I even found 100 targets. Now I will admit this too. Right after the 1st day, I was so sour realizing my minimum expectation of 10 gold was not going to happen, so I kind of let off the gas a little and spent more time with the wife, slept in each morning and did the casual hunt (4 to 5 hours). I told my wife. "You know, I expected 20 pieces of gold with a minimum of 10". She said I should not be so cocky. Maybe she has a point!. But honestly I always try to think "scoop ass and take names later". I do it when I hunt gold nuggets, when I do Civil War and old coin hunting as well. You know...maybe I am a bully with a detector? Anyway, Here are my jewelry finds from approx. 20 hours of detecting. Total of 12 rings with the photo of my hand and the index finger showing the 5 rings with gold on them. 1st is stamped 14K and is 3.5 grams, 2nd is a pretty design ring stamped 14K and is 4.2 grams, 3rd (my favorite) is 9.6 grams and stamped 18K PLAT (yes it is both), next ring is 7.2 grams and it is 925, but I can see the gold heart between the hands. Last gold ring near my fingernail is 14K weighing 3.7 grams. Next finger has the modern Tungsten with some inlay, another plain tungsten and then 2 sterling rings. Last finger shows 3 cheap rings. Managed to pull a couple belly tinglers, an ear ring and a sterling star fish. Equinox 800 with stock coil in Beach #1 Mode. I run SENS around 17 most of the time and when I get around 20 the little "Warning" triangle appears. Well I did not do what I had hoped and didn't even get near my low expectations...but I did add a few more to my collection, got some sun and enjoyed the rum. Until next time....

I had about an hour and a half tonight to get out and detect. I went to the same football field that has been productive in the past. They have the lights on very late even if there are no games. So, what better time to detect than at night with no headlamp needed! As for the bucket list, I have never found a diamond solitaire with a real stone. I dug a strong 10 on the Equinox (park 1, 7 recovery, 18 sensitivity), normally the cover over the opening of an aluminum can, and I thought my bucket list had another item checked off. When I got it home and washed it off, it was indeed 10K, just not real diamonds--the hole in the bucket. I found a total of 4 pieces of jewelry tonight--mostly digging signals from 5-18--but going all the way up in the 30s if it was a good signal. I would have dug quarters, but the large coil did not go over any in the time I was out. The friendship necklace part and the crucifix are junk. The silver heart rang up a solid 23, a strange number that said, "Dig me!" It is doubtful the stones are diamonds, and my tester is hard to use on stones that small. I have included a pic of my pile of junk, pennies, nickels, and dimes from tonight. So far this field, and adjoining baseball field, have given up some goodies that are in another pic.

Was out to a baseball field today for a couple hours. I have found another silver ring and a class ring on the same field in the past. I wanted to be on the football field, but there was a group already occupying it. I was mostly focusing on signals in the 5-19 range, but if a strong signal came in above or below those numbers, I would dig it. I can't remember the pendant's ID, but the ring was a very solid 30, almost the sound of a couple quarters that are stacked. The ring was fairly shallow as you can see from the pic with the Pro-Pointer. Park 1, recovery 7, 18 sensitivity, all metal mode on, ground balanced, and using the 15" coil.

The last time Steve H and i hunted together in Hawaii, i banged in this beauty and he banged in Two.. Always fun to hunt with Steve, he's a real detectorist.....

Same football field as the tape player today. This came in a faint 28 on the Nox with the 15" in park 1. I was using 17 sensitivity and it caught it as deep as the Garrett Carrot is long. First one of these I've found, too.

These are a few i found in various places, Hawaii, UK, and Ak..The silver ring is pretty old, i found it in a plowed farm field in the UK, it was basically flattened out, when i got back to Ak i took it to a jeweler friend and he reshaped it and made a repair...Hawaii is a gold ring paradise did manage to return a couple of wedding bands but for the most part its impossible...

Well, I can say, I almost gave up on this 14k gold earring and sterling piece. The detector (Equinox 800, park 2) kept telling me it was there but my pinpointer was not so sure until it actually touch it. The color of the ground and the fact I didn't have my glasses on proved to be a difficult task in locating these two precious items. Just remember if the detectors says there is something there don't give up until you know what it is. The second photo was a blast in recovering all those sterling pieces. And then the old button, very ornate.

It was a lucky day today. I've been in a silver lust mode and wanted a ring of some sort. Well today both things seemed to crash into one another. Took the ORX out and went over a place I've been to before. This place has produced some whet pennies and clad stuff but I never expected to find this little kid's ring. It was down just a few inches and rang up 90-91 on my XP ORX. Really thought it was a dime. Inside there is a 925 marking. It's sterling silver! Brought it home applied the baking soda with a drop of water to shine her up a little. Can't figure out if a kid used this on their finger or as a toe ring. It's very small. For all of you that wonder.. YES the XP ORX will hit the goodies!
