I would think there are still real GMZ's out there for sale but just have to keep your eyes out for them. Just like many of the Tesoros. Personally I would wait to see what Garrett/Whites comes out with. I wouldn't be surprised if many of the popular Whites models go back into production.

On another note you could flatten that box out a bit. Cut a piece of 2x4 to fit inside and put it on another block and give it a few wacks with a hammer. Should look bit better.

Does it still work?

yes the metal detector works, with some hammer job i think to restore it.

i will make a viseo

Now that I think about it, the GMZ may have used a Classic board design. I was thinking it was GMT-based but it was not. Dan Geyer designed it just for kicks and it worked pretty well, so White's decided to sell them. I think he took a Classic, bumped it up to 48kHz, and added a manual GB.

i tought that the gmz was  based on the gmt, but he pcb is different, there are some empty spot on the pcb of my gmz.

maybe was used also for other metal detector.

i bought this beacuse in italy is impossible to find a gmz, and buy from America is too expensive for the shipping.

maybe is helpful for some user that have the gmz and need spare parts

You can send it to me and I’ll “restore it” with my hammer......?

i like old analogic metal detector, my favourite brand is white's.

The only way here in Italy to have a GMZ was to bought it from aliexpress, also White's now probably stop production, i prefer original metal detector and not china clone but there was only this way to have it ?

Nevermind that was the SGT (Sierra Gold Track) I was thinking about..   I never had the GMZ.

You say you wanted a GMZ but you bought a counterfeit instead, which means you do not have a GMZ. All you have a copy that may or may not perform as well as an original. Putting all the legal and moral questions aside, the reason for buying genuine product is to get genuine performance, and most counterfeiters don’t worry much about getting that part right. You are lucky it works at all.

I see the main problem in this discussion in the fact that it is not a Whites detector .., so it is difficult to solve many aspects of this copy or imitation of the detector ..- right in the Whites Forum Section ..
Let's not forget that so far we practically do not know how many rights and patents for detectors have passed from Whites to Garrett ..,

So this article almost belongs to the Detector Comparisons section ... at least in my opinion.

...maybe I expressed myself quite roughly, but after a few days .. I couldn't help but write something on this topic ..
