I cleaned up the gold ring a bit and turned out that cruddy patina line is actually a silver center band.

That is usually something that you would find in Europe during WWII, they were trying to save on metals back then.

Grandfather showed me several rings that were like that.

Nice finds for your work, and good luck on your next hunt.

Still plodding along in this hard hit park. Got tripped up bad tonight for some reason the smaller square tabs came in soft sounding and some up in the quarter range.  Still concentrating my efforts in the aluminum/gold range with the Tejon and managed to snag my 2nd bit of gold. Small chain that was in 2 places, must have met it's demise from a lawnmower. Did find a war nickel 1942 in pretty good shape. Lot of trash this run may change up machines.

I do have to check the calibration on the Tejon, hopefully it isn't out of wack.

Did a quick break test on my Tejon and found out my primary discrim doesn't match the 2nd discrim and is off by about a 1/4 turn in values. Surprised I didn't dig every @#$^$@! nail in that park!

Nice finding gold. Good you found the disc controller was off a bit. That could really mess you up.
