Bright Yellow, Porous "crust" Surrounding A Black Rock Mixture

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I picked up this "rock" at the beach at Tramore, Ireland, a few years ago and recently found it in one of my drawers, wondering what it is.

It seems to consist of two parts:
Crust - bright yellow, porous, semi-hard on touch with minuscule shiny "glass" pieces
Inside - a mixture of different "rocks" covered by the crust

It's not magnetic, doesn't seem to fall apart, and is impossible to dent with fingers. I guess I could easily crack it with pliers and some pressure.

Thanks in advance for all tips!

We had one of these last year. It's road stripe paint with reflective glass beads in it. 🙂

Like in the original post, I just tried sticking a burning hot needle into it. It's 100% road paint as the needle melted a hole in it 🤦‍♂️

That is a bit of a letdown. It reminds me of my ex wives  attempt at making chocolate chip cookies.
