I came across this website while looking for gold mining/panning information and ended up learning so much I wanted a metal detector. I've been lurking for a bit while getting up to speed on metal detectors. I decided on an X-Terra Pro so I can take it to the beach for some prospecting. I was initially interested in the Equinox, but was nervous to buy a used 600 or 800 due to the water leaking issues, since I plan on testing some underwater spots. On a side note, does anyone have a GPAA membership? I saw they have a few mining properties in Southern California, and was interested in the opportunity to find gold, but I am not sure how good the ground is. Thanks!
