Last Hunt Before Christmas Brings Up A Real Stunner..

Yesterday I went to my presumably last hunt before christmas.
I didn't have much time, it was raining and stormy, so I've choosen a nearby beach.. no hope in finding anything really.

Turned out to get a relatively decent hunt. 1,20€, 14 DM, one super thin 925 ring, one 925 earring..:

 

 

.. and a real stunner (at least for me 😄 : 2 Skilling (silver), Christan IV from ~1640 

~400 years, just lying and hiding in between modern trash and a 1 DM coin.
Still super thrilled about that find!

To be honest - inwardly I hoped it is older.. 😂
But considering where I am located and that I found it on the beach, makes it a special find anyway ⭐

 

Just found out, there has been a naval battle between the Danish and the Swede in 1644, just 6km away from where I've found the coin. Bingo!

My place in the world was discovered in 1606 by an English explorer, the 1607 coin I found was probably lost along with the belt buckle and a few buttons in an expedition not long after that. Unless someone brought some really old coins and dropped them, I will never find an older one 😀

That's a cool story! There are definitely older things to be found over here - but not so much in my area and especially not at the beach, I guess. Time to get on the fields again .. I need some permissions 🙄

The coin seems to be relatively rare, indeed. Currently there's one on Ebay located in Israel ?!, 2 in a german coin shop and that's about what I could find at first glance. Years ago there where some auctions, but not much further info.

Just to be clear / honest: I do find a lot of trash on every hunt, too, which I don't always picture.. my little Pull-Tab-Assortment is growing again 🥸
