It's been 2 years since I detected only on the beach with the D2 in fulltones, since November I have switched to 4-tone mode in 3-tone mode. Recently, reading the V2 user manual, I said to myself, I'm going to try pitch mode again. I noticed one thing in the manual, on the autonomy, 12 hours on the beach and beach sense modes and 8 hours on the diving mode. I would have thought that it would be more consuming at 40kHz than at 14kHz. Does anyone know why? THANKS. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

phrunt Posted January 24 Share Posted January 24 This is what you're talking about in the manual, it's the same with the Deus 1, the lower frequencies use more power. The low frequency geared all terrain high conductor mode on the Manticore uses significantly more power too, so it's not just an XP thing. The Deus 1 manual shows the differences in power usage with frequencies in better detail. A battery that can last 25 hours in 25 kHz only lasting 12 hours in 4kHz, or even down to 6 hours with TX Boost. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Flavius Titus Posted Tuesday at 02:23 PM Share Posted Tuesday at 02:23 PM just yesterday I worked with the D2, prog. 6, sens. 95, no silencer, no BC, disc 3.1, audio filter 5, 2 tone, GB at 2. After 6 and a half hours of research the coil went off, I had used the metal 2 days before for depth tests here in the Italian Apennines, and then left it to rest for 2 days. Unfortunately it ran out of power at the best of times 😒! But lesson learned, you definitely need an emergency power bank. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

DWerk Posted Wednesday at 01:48 AM Share Posted Wednesday at 01:48 AM I have made it a habit to always carry the charging cable and a good sized rechargeable battery pack in the truck when at the beach. Also have usb connections in the truck. If/when I take a break/lunch I put the whole thing on charge... Even 20-30 minutes adds a couple hours hunt time..
