Popular Post NCtoad Posted March 13 Popular Post Share Posted March 13 As some of you already know, I bought another D2 rig with both the 9” and the 13x11 coils. I’ve had 4 hunts thus far with the big coil and here’s the highlights. Two junk rings, a small junk pendant, 1910 V nickel, 1950 rosie, tootsie toy jaguar, organ reed (I think that’s what that is), and the highlight of tonight’s hunt, the sterling rifle medal. That medal was as deep as the mi6 and the tootsie car was around 10”-11” deep. Everything else was 6” or less. These four hunts were at sites that I have hunted many times before. The coverage of this coil is perfect in my opinion. The weight, although noticeably heavier than the 9”, is still very easy to swing. It has a pendulum type feel to it and once it switches direction, its momentum seems to carry it through to the other end of the swing. You don't always find them in silver, it's older if it says Sterling. 🏆 Shame the rings are junk, is the shiny one Tungsten Carbide? Double silver and a V nickel in great shape. At the top on the back it’s marked: AULD-COL,O. I looked that up and it looks like WWII era made by a company called Auld in Columbus, OH. There are 3 levels of badges for those who qualify with their weapon…Marksman, Sharpshooter and Expert. This one is the Marksman level. The bar at the bottom indicates which weapon.
