Well we could hope LOL I honestly did not know if that could have been implemented at some point with the Vortex or not, and was curious because of a statement I heard on that pod cast by Steve Moore

Seems like offering some kind of new upgrade would be a logical step, given that -- not a color screen, but there are lots of other features Garrett could theoretically introduce.

Seems like offering some kind of new upgrade would be a logical step, given that -- not a color screen, but there are lots of other features Garrett could theoretically introduce. I personally do not see the VX9 as the end product, as I see endless possibilities with this new Vortex, and its up to Garrett to take it through to those endless possibilities, not only with updates but also Upgrades. as I have said for me personally the lack of a ton of settings and features is the appealing thing with the Vortex VX9 But having said that I could honestly see Garrett pushing the VX9 to compete against detectors like the Manticore, Deus 2, Legend and all the Nox line up (and I am not saying that the Vortex will not match up against those other brands) yet, because we just do not know as of yet none of us have a Vortex in our hands yet, but what I do mean by my statement I can see endless possibilities of features and settings I honestly hope that Garrett makes it so we can choose the Features we want to add as new features come out and if we do not want a feature that they have come out with we don't have to install it, in other words give us as the end USER the option to install a feature or not install a feature its like the Legend and this is just my opinion Nokta made some of those Updates so dang large to download and install that some of the first Legends just could not handle the large install files and it literally messed up some of the first Legends and (again this is just my own personal opinion), I was one that personally had issues with my first Legend and it got to the point that I finally gave up on the Legend, i ended up taking my first legend back to a version that was not even offered to us and left it at that and parted ways with two of my Legends because of how disgusted I was with my first Legend (which by the way I still have that first Legend) but it now sits here in my detector room collecting dust I do not want the Vortex to become another dust collector in my detector room, so as I said (KISS) and again I am not calling Garrett stupid at all on behalf of Nokta I did have Mark Tymensky reach out to me and ask what he could do to change my perception of Nokta and I declined any further help from Nokta and I told Mark exactly why that it was simply because I have lost faith in the Legend and Nokta all together, (I wish Nokta no ill will in any way) in fact I hope they succeed in everything they are doing, but after a year of sending emails and phone call attempts going UN responded to I gave up on getting my Legend back to working correctly like I seen in the Beta test Version 1.10 version 3, I absolutely loved the Legend up until 1.11 was installed, and then after the install of 1.11 everything went completely sideways with my first Legend so as I said my first Legend sits collecting dust in my detector room, and it will remain there as a harsh reminder, My first Legend was an original 1.04 version and was in the first shipment to hit the U.S shores

Since the Vortex is still just in the pre-order stage, I’m guessing that it’s mostly just folks already knowledgeable or established in the hobby who are aware that the machine is coming available, and those more experienced detectorists are more likely to order the “top of the line”. As the machine becomes more widely available and visible to the average consumer or beginners that know nothing about forums (ie, starts showing up at the box stores and in Amazon searches), I’ll bet Garrett will start seeing higher purchase numbers on the VX5 and VX7. That said, I agree with you and others…I’d be very surprised if something like a VX11 wasn’t announced at some point in the future.
Noah (FL)
The current “consumer” trend of the economy is a constant clamoring for the newest latest of everything, so of course the VX9 is leading in pre-orders. I still want to start with a VX5 just to see what the base-line horsepower is, and see how the “upgrade” model adds to it????? I am happy with Garrett’s previous offerings and doubt that this new machine will disappoint!!
Ridge Runner
While we all wondering if maybe in the near future we see a VX 11 but the big question is it a continuation from the VX9 . Will we just pay a fee to make the jump from 9 to 11 are will Garrett split the sheets so to say and start over with a new detector as in 11 12 and 13 ? Who knows and I really don’t care being I’ve yet to get the first VX 7 8 are 9 . I live just down the road from Garrett and they have yet knocked at my door with a VX 9 saying sorry Mr. Anders on keeping you waiting.haha Isn’t life Grand !
