  1. Does not get any better than that - good job JP, and Merry Christmas!
  2. My advice is not specific to this brand but to all metal detectors. Beware any device that claims to detect more than a few feet or discern one metal from another. There will always be a catch.
  3. On a PC or tablet just below the menu bar on left you will see a little house icon and the word Home. Clicking on Home will always take you to the top of the forum structure which is at http://www.detectorprospector.com/forum/ There are two major sections, Metal Detecting & Gold Prospecting Forums (the active forums) and Archive - Closed To Active Posting Home will take you to both together but you can also access each one separately. If you do that, the other section will not be visible, so Home is the safe bet. Here is the Home Page: There are five new forums open to posting: Metal Detecting For Coins & Relics Metal Detecting For Jewelry Metal Detecting For Meteorites Gold Panning, Sluicing, Dredging, Drywashing, Etc Rocks, Minerals, Gems & Geology Several archives which corresponded to these new forums were deleted after the content was moved to the new forums. I also moved some newer threads to the appropriate forums, which is why you see quite a few threads on each forum already. Most people here who are interested in things as they have been can just continue on here as if nothing has happened. If you are interested in all the forums, become familiar with the Unread Content option. This will collect all new content for you in one location. I will monitor the forums and move threads if need be to the correct forums. Other than that, if you have friends who might want to share the new locations with you let them know. Thanks!

  9. I think they make some really cool looking units that fold up nice and compact. Other than that I have no interest in them since they are designed for explosive mine detecting. I stick with mainstream machines designed for the task I have in mind, and have never seen anything posted by anyone that has ever convinced me that doing otherwise is a good idea.
  10. I wish a safe and prosperous New Year to everyone on the Nokta and Makro team. I want to offer a special thank you Dilek for your presence on the forum and your setting new standards for what customer interaction really means!
  11. I had the Coiltek probe at one point. They work great but are unwieldy due to the very long, stiff cable. Best just used as an accessory item with the GPX when needed instead of hooked up all the time via a switch box.
  12. Some muddy looking business, but they never did beep a nugget on video. Interesting to see they had a DEUS and GPX however - no lack of funds!
  13. matt, as one of the few who might end up with both your thoughts once you have a chance to use them would be very valuable to foum members, I am sure.
  14. Threads on books migrate after awhile to the Research Archive
  15. I have used Bluetooth with metal detectors and was fine with it. Obviously it works. The delay is just something that really puts some people off. Others, like me I guess, adjust to the delay, which is measured in milliseconds. When you say it is "not good enough" Shelton you leave out the "for me". The world is not black and white and it depends on the exact application and person as to what audio solution might be acceptable.
  16. Just some of the embeds you can post: College Humor Facebook Flickr Gfycat Google+ Hulu Instagram SoundCloud Spotify Ted Twitter Vimeo Vine YouTube codepen.io coub.com deviantart.com docs.com funnyordie.com gettyimages.com iFixit.com kickstarter.com meetup.com mixcloud.com mix.office.com on.aol.com reddit.com reverbnation.com screencast.com screenr.com slideshare.net smugmug.com ustream.tv Google Maps
  17. I just did the latest update to the forum. There have been a lot of new "embeds" added. This is where you copy a link from another website, and the forum automatically includes the linked item into the post. YouTube is the one you are most familiar with, but the forum supports many more, like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, etc. One that might be particularly useful on the forum is Google Maps integration. Find a location in Google Maps, copy the link, and paste into the post. I did it for the Reno Events Center, and here is what you get....
  18. Yes, you would need the SDC 2300 headphone adapter. That being the case the Minelab Pro-Sonic has an advantage for SDC owners by including an adapter for the SDC 2300.
  19. I would say the feeling that metal detector manufacturers are not listening to high end users is a common one. For instance, desert prospectors keep getting offered heavy overpriced metal detectors that are waterproof. Because everyone that hunts in the desert needs a waterproof detector. I have been metal detecting going on 45 years - no reason to wait. If they never come out with another new detector ever I am well outfitted with what exists now. It is just that everyone always wants something new and better. It also gives detector nerds something to discuss on forums when the weather sucks!
  20. Yeah, for $127.45 it looks like this is the one for me. Compact, works with any detector, 30 hour run time, low price - what's not to like? Several dealer websites list them but no word on availability yet.
  21. They have a fix for sure because properly operating units do not have that problem. Mine does not. Keep on them until you get it repaired under warranty.
  22. Nice, rounded, solid slugs of gold - and in the snow no less!
