GPZ 7000 Swing Control Arm

Any suggestions on repairing or retrofit the swing arm on the 7000? This is the 2nd one I've broke over the years. Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Being a carpenter I would just add some glue, strap and screws to it. So keeping it non metal and plastic is out of my wheelhouse.

My battery cost about $12 bucks American dollars. Beats buying a new unit. And super easy to research and install. I think even Freddie Dodge could handle installing this. 🤣

Received the new battery from Amazon. I reversed the black & red wires with the JST clips. Btw that didn't scare me at all @phrunt.🤣🤣 The whole replacement took less than 10 minutes.
-
What, No way! That is just too easy. And thank you for sharing that. I'll order a battery now. Much appreciated.

I'm having trouble locating the battery I need on Amazon. It seems everything I'm finding has the black & red wires are opposite of what I need. Not sure if the opposite polarity on the plug will work? Pictured is the battery that came out of my wm12 and a screenshot of the Amazon battery that fits except for the polarity. Thanks for this info. My WM12 just died. I'll update my fix when I get the parts.

Air tests are cool, just like air guitars. I've never found a target in the air. But did find a several small nuggets in a blown over tree stump a couple feet off the ground. Maybe that counts as a air test.

How Klunker Slows Down His Detecting Partner
Sourdough Scott replied to Sourdough Scott's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
But with big gold!🤣 -
Klunker is the best detectorist that I know. (Because he is the only detectorist that I know) Anyways, over the years I have become a much more proficient at detecting. Partly because of his misguided teaching. I'm very competitive and always want to beat him for the day on nuggets found. Recently I've been getting close to him and occasionally tie or beat him for the day. Doesn't happen often. But I think Klunker is feeling threatened by my rise in awesome detecting skills. So he has moved on to more serious tactics to keep my nugget count down. He has now trained his dog to come lay down in my dig hole. I now have to carry a bag of sliced salami to get him out. 🤣 Things are getting serious now. I'm strategizing my next counter moves.

I keep my volume on the lower side with the gpz. On the filters on the SP01 I think is a preference to your ears. I turn the volume up on it just below where you hear any hiss.

What @klunker doesn't know, is that I bring two lunches. One for me and our doggies, and a special lunch for him. He doesn't seem to mind Kale, Tofu and Rice cakes. -

Val, if it was a DD coil I would give him a D. But since it is a Mono, it's all mine. -

I won a Coiltek Goldhawk 9 inch round. No handshakes, only Hi 5's when they help me sniff out a nugget. -

It had been so long, I forgot it was a Joey. I emailed them to correct. Thanks for making me refresh my memories. 🤣 -
Thought I would enter the Coiltek latest finds contest. Low & behold I won. I owe all of my writing abilities to Klunker. 🤣 https://coiltek.com.au/why-you-should-never-let-a-friend-borrow-your-coil/

It's been a very long winter with so much snow. Can't wait for it to melt and get swinging. We have had over 14 ft of snow this year.

I purchased this detector truck toy for my nephew a few years ago for Xmas. He loved it. He would bury coins in the sandbox and find them. Matchbox Treasure Tracker Metal Detector Truck https://a.co/d/bx8wAvO -

Coiltek Now Selling From Their Own Website?
Sourdough Scott replied to Rob Allison's topic in Detector Prospector Forum
It's sad to see everything become centralized. The mom & pop grocery store, the town clothing store, the local bootmaker, your favorite Cafe. Seems everything has gone corporate. The bonds and friendships forged through these connections become lifelong. Now thrown by the wayside by tapping on a computer or talking with a person from who knows where. I understand we all want to make $$$. But at the cost of greed? It seems we could be at a tipping point of society. I long for the days of our elders, when life was simpler, yet harder. I'm glad I'm fortunate to be able to live in old fashioned way and understand the new ways. I'm afraid if the 💩 really hits the fan, and we have a total blackout of no electronics. The younger generations won't have a clue on how to survive.
