  1. If I recall most, if not all the chains were low single digits 1 to 3, maybe a 5 in there somewhere with a high sensitivity level around 23, beach 1 or 2, I use depending on the incoming waves. Beach 1 is too chatty if the waves are hitting the coil.
  2. These gold chains were all found with the Nox. Only 1 in the water and the rest buried in wet salt sand. Only several inches on any of them. The one on the top did have an attached heart so that was helpful as I'm sure that fine chain wouldn't have been picked up alone.
  3. Hello Rob... Yes I'm that guy. I think we met years ago. I used to spend winters in AZ around Rich Hill. The good old days on the Devil's Nest claims.
  4. With everything I've heard / read about the AQ I'm hoping that Fisher will "have there ducks in a row" with an innovative gold machine and in tune with the general expectations of previous winners. Auto ground balancing in addition to manual. A fix for hot rocks, a smooth EMI resistant threshold, a small assortment of closed coils to start with (did anyone ever try hunting in scrub oak with an open coil) 🤢, lightweight and at least a 10 hour battery pack contained. I'm a corded kind of guy with earphones, but I'm sure many would want Bluetooth and also set up so we can use whatever brand we choose; Gray Ghost, Black Widow etc. No need for a fancy built in GPS or frivolous bells and whistles just power, stability and sensitivity. Perhaps some form of disc? Cost....If it is proclaimed to be the "best", lets see some good videos to validate this and stay in the $2000 range. Let's keep Fisher in business.
  5. There are some State Parks here in Florida that I hunt that don't open until 8 AM. They are gated and are unlocked at the appropriate time. Unless..... You are a Disabled Veteran and you can get a code for the lock months in advance which you can unlock at your convenience. Enter at your own time. Each month the code is changed. You can also access these parks at any time if you can walk to them from elsewhere.
  6. I'm certainly impressed with the depth on these rings. It would be interesting to see just how much difference if any by changing the delay to say...11 would affect the depth. But as Alexander said there are so many combinations of settings to choose from it would take months of playing around with them to see the results. As more AQ's are released, more results will unfold.
  7. It's really a shock to me to see White's go. What a huge name they have been since the beginning. So now the devoted White's followers will have to put their money into the few remaining companies.
  8. Thanks Joe. That’s good to hear because some machines drop like a rock when released.
  9. Joe... Couldn't quite see your hand, but is the control pod slightly buoyant too so if you let completely go, will the whole AQ float? Thanks!
  10. I sure can't join the 20 ounce nugget club but I came across a nice patch in 2000. All Arizona gold. The biggest one weighed 14.6 oz. and contained 11.62 oz. of gold. The smaller one was 5.9 oz. and contained 4.94 oz. of gold. There is a total of 26 ounces all found in 5 days. Back then I didn't take too many pictures and certainly not by digital. Here is another...my first 5+ ouncer in the early 90's found with the Gold Bug. Also Arizona gold. I remember people telling me "That's the find of a lifetime". I actually got a little disappointed hearing that because that meant I already reached the pinnacle of big nuggets. Nothing would ever come my way bigger? Well it took 10 more years but I proved them wrong. LOL
  11. Nicely detailed report Steve. A lot of good information for your first time out. Good luck with the eye today!
  12. The settings here were Delay 11, ATS 0, sensitivity 8, volume 6, threshold 4/5, then mute mod... 3 hour hunt, no problems. Joe, You mention using a delay of 11. Did you have to use a higher delay because of the water depth / wave action?
  13. Any ideas as to how the extra battery can be safely carried so as not to corrupt any of its components while hunting in total submersion in salt water?
  14. Glad to hear you've got one Steve and ready to go! So far... all reports... Sound Good !
  15. I sure understand the "Washing Machine" workout. Does anyone have moments of a sensation like you're still moving a little several hours later while standing on firm ground?
  16. If I were the finder I'd be taking a big step backwards and thinking about what to do with my new found wealth and unique, valuable treasure. With a big lottery winning you have to pay taxes. With this treasure...I don't know. I understand there are about 250+ gold coins, many nuggets and other treasures. I suppose you could sell something as needed, a coin or nugget and possibly stay under the radar; or come forward, write a book, be on TV and be famous for awhile and also face the droves of people who now want a share of your wealth? Decisions...decisions...
  17. Very encouraging to see another official announcement from Fisher, now including the Impulse Gold. Apparently all systems are still "GO" for launch!
  18. I dredged for gold once in the NYS Adirondacks. Found 4 fly specks in about a one hour time period. We put the 4 inch dredge in an easily accessible, super sandy spot on the river but not a good gold catching area. Sucked about 20 feet straight down hoping to hit bedrock but ran out of hose. It was meant to be a quick sampling with brand new carpet so no contamination from other sources. And we did find gold. Good luck!
  19. Nice rings Joe. My crystal ball sees many more rings in your future!
  20. I am still hoping for a chance to buy and evaluate the new machine. I accept Fishers terms!
  21. Steve... Your thoughts are mine exactly. My PI experience started years ago hunting the black sand swimming areas in the Adirondack Mountains. I was using a very popular submersible VLF and going nowhere with depth. I even sent it back to the manufacturer thinking something was wrong. No problems with it except thick Black Sand especially near the shore! Bring on the Infinium and multiple gold rings emerged from my hunted out areas. After that enlightenment I never used a VLF again. Next came the ATX and you have heard my story with that. I too would be happy with a machine equal to its performance. A little better waterproofing with the AQ wouldn't hurt, but I'll take my chances. I was going to get the TDIBH but have been waiting patiently for the AQ. I've hunted with different VLf's and PI's for over 30 years in the gold fields of Arizona and Nevada. At least now if I trip and fall down it's in the wet sand and I'm not pulling cactus spines out a month later. 😄
