Condor, got a Spanish neighbour next door to town house over here in OZ, we`ve been neighbours for 30 years or so, never understood a word in those years but we get along fine and have had many hours of conversation. So Paul and I`ll be AOK, strange thing is I think he and my neighbour understand each other. DDancer, I think that multiple donkeys have fallen under the weight, how long does it take to fly a couple of bags over???? must be bloody monster bags. Have to talk Sir Richard into getting a bigger plane or a whole string of donkeys. Beatup, your not wrong Steves on the money for sure. He is becoming very impatient and even incoherent at times, smoke signalling about some Scot laddie, dark smoke at that, every time he talks about this Scot somehow the word sabotage comes into the conversation, cos I may be misinterpreting the smoke. Ok NursePaul touched down in OZ, picked him up on Saturday, but in his excitement to get over here he forgot his ports with clothes, Z, etc etc. no no regardless of what he says about Airlines, that`s my story and I`m going to stick to it. We are having a lot of trouble communicating, I don`t know what version of English you Yanks use but tis French to me for sure............ So here we are waiting for his gear coming via Pony Express-Cobb & Co and I`ve got the best excuse I`ve every had as to why I`m not finding gold.....................But the xxxx is good yes/no..............and we are sort working out sign language, although judging by the smoke coming out his ears I think we will switch to smoke signals...............

I would love it if Minelab made an SDC with MPF in a Monster housing!!! Imagine that? Exactlly what we have been screaming for...................come on ML Better still (if possible) a cut down Z in the Monster box. Don`t want much.............

All this speculation about the Monster, the bloody thing is a switch & go VLF it is not meant to compete with the PIs or the Z, can`t wait to get mine I`m going to have some fun with it, but I know the Z is THE machine. $1000 machine`s going to compete with a $10000 machine?????????? MLs bloody good but...................

Nah, nothing in OZ yet although there is a rumour, dealers are filling some early orders, but I suspect that is just that, a rumour.

Top news Jasong, a Co can`t give any better service then that, seems the weak link was that middle one. Also a big cheer to Steve and this forum.

All the above but firstly even more depth, even more sensitivity with even better ground handling.

My journey in this magic hobby was helped big time by my local dealer, he even posted new detectors and coils for me to test if he considered they were of interest to me. I live in a remote area and receive most everything by mail. Whilst I understand and use online purchasing, nothing can replace the personalised service of a good dealer. As Fred says just to have a visit and "squeeze the tomatoes" is very worthwhile. But I suspect the writing is on the wall, and as JP questions will we get our detectors cheaper once dealers are a thing of the past? Don`t think so, we`ll just lose that personalised service, but this thread illustrates this is happening in the US and the signs in OZ aren`t good either.

Thinking back, I`ve been very fortunate in regards to detector problems. Sent a GM2 that failed (last century) back for a service(no drama) had a few ML rubbish bin lid coils fail and replaced no drama, plus a coiltex coil also replaced no drama. Considering they just bounce around in the back of the 4WD, and get no love just expected to work, rain hail but no snow. Touch wood....... I`ve had a top run and can only heap praise on the detector brands I`ve had and have plus of course a big cheer for the local dealer who just choofs out a replacement if possible.

If you fix the bungy strap on its way up to your shoulder at the base of the screen, holds the Z control end nicley off the ground when you release the handle. Freds Mod looks after the control end leaves the Z handle easy to get at and makes the Z easier to swing, works a charm. That`s a good price for the replacement stand.

No drama, Shasta, here in OZ as Steve has said the Z or for that matter any ML product comes under a lot of criticism, completely unwarranted criticism in my view as ML has a saying that they change peoples fortune, and that is exactly what their products have done for me, because I state this on OZ forums and am proud to defend ML, I cop a fair bit of personal stuff in reply, thus I am somewhat a wee touchy on the subject. As you state we are in agreement, tis simply a misunderstanding. No problem I think a lot of times on forums this sort of misunderstanding happens, it is just good that we have hung in there and sorted it out. Also to consider, in US and OZ we both speak & write English but different "dialects". I wish you at least the success I have had with MLs products and no doubt we`ll participate in future Monster threads on this forum once we have got and worked out our Monsters. Monster, what a name for a detector but why not..........

Crikey, where in my post did you get the idea I believe the Z doesn`t live up to advertised claims, on the contrary I have never had a ML product that hasn`t lived up to MLs claims and that is a lot That belief in ML is why chiefly along with Steves, Lunks & JPs reviews I have ordered a Monster unseen.

Yeh price point is on the money (no pun) 2 coils top value, but also MLs long term reputation. The Monster with silent threshold (try Bogenes on the Z or the Deus) and that bit about the processor helping cover wider frequency recovery but on a single frequency MD, MLs got me intrigued, they just don`t bring out products that don`t come up with the goods.......... cos ML being an OZ Co I`m a wee bit biased.

Heh JP, send to me that one you`ve got on display, that way you`ll be able to tell your customers you haven`t got one yourself. Plus an added benefit I`ll give it some exercise, my right arm needs it desperately have a bad case of 19Zitis........ Judging by what I`m hearing here in OZ, ML wont be able to keep up supply for yonks. Good stuff.
