  1. Hmmm about $1 worth of gold in each phone, if my maths is right.........
  2. Crikey, you`ve scrambled me with that one Steve, I`m not just over the fence and now Ricks just come in with rocket science, definitely am over the fence, and in a diff paddock....................and I`m a SH Engineer.
  3. No drama, Shasta, here in OZ as Steve has said the Z or for that matter any ML product comes under a lot of criticism, completely unwarranted criticism in my view as ML has a saying that they change peoples fortune, and that is exactly what their products have done for me, because I state this on OZ forums and am proud to defend ML, I cop a fair bit of personal stuff in reply, thus I am somewhat a wee touchy on the subject. As you state we are in agreement, tis simply a misunderstanding. No problem I think a lot of times on forums this sort of misunderstanding happens, it is just good that we have hung in there and sorted it out. Also to consider, in US and OZ we both speak & write English but different "dialects". I wish you at least the success I have had with MLs products and no doubt we`ll participate in future Monster threads on this forum once we have got and worked out our Monsters. Monster, what a name for a detector but why not..........
  4. Crikey, where in my post did you get the idea I believe the Z doesn`t live up to advertised claims, on the contrary I have never had a ML product that hasn`t lived up to MLs claims and that is a lot That belief in ML is why chiefly along with Steves, Lunks & JPs reviews I have ordered a Monster unseen.
  5. Yeh price point is on the money (no pun) 2 coils top value, but also MLs long term reputation. The Monster with silent threshold (try Bogenes on the Z or the Deus) and that bit about the processor helping cover wider frequency recovery but on a single frequency MD, MLs got me intrigued, they just don`t bring out products that don`t come up with the goods.......... cos ML being an OZ Co I`m a wee bit biased.
  6. Heh JP, send to me that one you`ve got on display, that way you`ll be able to tell your customers you haven`t got one yourself. Plus an added benefit I`ll give it some exercise, my right arm needs it desperately have a bad case of 19Zitis........ Judging by what I`m hearing here in OZ, ML wont be able to keep up supply for yonks. Good stuff.
  7. Got you Steve, now sort of going Back to the Future and looking forward to the Monster. A bit of play and relief for the right arm, just the tonic this old kid needs. Now that spot you have up in Alaska.................
  8. My treasurer bought it, ordered it last night, Steves titbit for 4m members done it. Northeast don`t dilly dally, you know when we grow up we just wanna be kids.............
  9. Fringe areas, that is areas just outside known producing areas, same geology, little rubbish but that is where it has been at for me for last 20 years. Takes some persistence, faith and patience to go weeks without a piece but when you hit it ..............Wow..............
  10. Love the review, but what the heck do I want a VLF gold machine for, got over em years ago but then again............can tell the treasurer Steve talked me into one..........yeah that`s the go................
  11. Good one Madtuna, for helping them and for posting, this goes on every prospecting season in every gold field all over OZ. I guess it is the reality of suburban reared people gaining bush sense the hard way. In reverse I know I suffer big time in the City. May all your boot tacks turn into nuggets...............
  12. Gotta agree, Chuck, wouldn`t have it any other way, a magic pastime.
  13. Crikey, my detectors all have had a big problem with the nut behind them.............
  14. Yeah, the polycarb I got is only 0.8mm, which is about 1/3 of your 1/8inch. Think that is ample thickness, plus you can cut it with tin snips as per Phoneixs post. But I think that it is adhered to the 19 is what makes for the stability, stops the flexing. Pfff.... whatever it just works.
  15. Heh MN, not my solution is Phoneix`s, I just love it and am replacing all coil covers with it, tis way to go for me. Just done the Z14 ready for the 17 season, see how it goes, but not for stability on the 14 as it achieved on the 19, just cos its tough as and lightweight. No more unclipping and emptying out. But it sure collects grass seeds on the 19. Invert every 10m or so no drama, cattle producers will employ us as seed spreaders Grass will also be a nuisance this year in my neck of AUs woods, but in some ways that is good as seems the gold producing patches sometimes produce less grass. Suspect related to the other minerals shed from reefs that don`t produce good grass growing soils. Phh.... don`t know just a "maybe" observation.
  16. PhaseTech and other GS users, notice you listed a Gold Striker in detector used thread, I preferred the GS over the 17000 on shallow ground but a lot were disappointed with it. Just wondering if it had some special "tweaks" in its electronics? Something a bit diff. other then was a single frequency.
  17. 79 Bounty Hunter RB7, AU dealers had sold out all Deepseekers & 6000Ds. On defragment of brain total number around 30 to date, all brands. Most productive A2B, GM2 and Mls PIs in that order, but the Zs getting there.
  18. Crikey, sounds like a long drawn out case, jurors locked away for months. Recommend food be kept away from Rooster, get him as hungry as, he may settle matters quickly and juror Paul be released to serve his pending sentence in the downunder penal colony. If this fails Her Majesties AU Governor Normal will be forced to issue extradition orders immediately.
  19. Bugger ya Bloodgold, now that itch has gone viral.
  20. I believe you have nailed it Steve, and that is why there has been so much controversy over the 19, especially here in OZ, expectations were too high and that is where experience and knowledge is the key. In my part of OZ big coils are kings and I`ll swing one when the deep ground allows me. I`d still love a smaller coil also, for those shallow tight places but overall the 14 is the general purpose size.
  21. Heh I`m just reading between your lines JW, we are all much the same we start out talking ourselves into why we don`t want the new toy, then when we have exhausted all that in creeps why we want the new toy, well this is the go with me anyway. Missus will say to me but last week you were sure you didn`t need it.............. anyway have fun.
  22. JW, heh you stop buggerising around too, go get a 19. You can blame me for proper justification to the Treasurer. A 3000 with a 24x12 found patches in your country what will a Z with a 19 do?
  23. I suspect you`ve nailed it Phoenix, depends on the neck of the woods you work in, it is the coil you either get to love or hate and that is dependant on the ground and if it carries deep gold beyond the 14. There are a lot of disappointed people out and about no doubt, expectations were high, but I suspect as time goes by that will change, the Z with the 14 is a hard act to follow but the Z with the 19 does it in my country.
