  1. Yeah, that bigger stuff mystery gets to me big time, rarely is it there but bloody lovely when it is. I have noticed when it is there it is rarely with the little pieces, seems to be further from the reef that shed it, which goes against ones initial conventional "thinking".
  2. Yeah suspected the extra horses would solve the jamming although imagine a big enough solid would jam it too, but what a problem.
  3. Mostly I use the Deus at 4khz also, (0 reactivity) seems ample sensitivity to the coins I hunt, the more modern day AL foil that has been shredded and distributed all over by the mowers is much less a problem at the lower frequency. As I predominately chase gold with the GPZ7000 , thus very conditioned to heavy coils the 13" balance and weight is no drama. My 9" is in need of a new battery as it has been sitting unused, probably had I not swung to the 13" I would have maintained its charging and thus avoided this. I guess this is a small trade you make for wireless coils that are powered seeking a RC, one needs to maintain a good charging discipline. Lithium batteries whilst tops don`t like to be taken down to dead and then left in that state.
  4. I love the 13", not just because of its coverage, but when you stand the coil up using the tip or tail with fairly shallow coins and trash you can pinpoint the coin accurately and differentiate it from trash because the ID works well even with just the tip or tail, more so than the other LF coils. Think it has something to do with its particular elliptical shape over the round coils. Not having a HF elliptical coil I cannot say if this is so for it but have found this feature very handy.
  5. Forgot to mention, if you put a rich specie in with say a solid 10gram or more piece in , it will cease up the rotor, not to bad with the little electric one which just stalls the motor, but may do damage with the extra power of the petrol driven. Otherwise they are the bees knees.
  6. Have always kept my crushing's from dolly pot, put in the poverty pot , when I bought a 777electric awhile back did the "poverty pot" just before Xmass, that was a top Xmass. Now saving poverty pot for cyaniding one day. Like Trent says on top of the screen you`ll get a few gold "ball bearings".which will contaminate next crushing if you don`t remove. Way to go...............
  7. Why is youth wasted on the young........................
  8. MN, not trying to get rid of the lad, well maybe just a little but don`t tell him, (where`s my chocolate??????) but there is a lot of gold areas in OZ, lots of OZ to soak in.........Plus there is another barra with his name on it...............
  9. As the saying goes "go west young man" , it applies even downunder, tis another big part of OZ to soak in. Just get rid of those QLD plates from the Subby, them WAers fear us QLDers big time, what with floggin all their gold and whatnots, leaving it laying around what do they expect.....
  10. No commission from me, the lad baulked when I suggested it................. no he got bugger all with me. Couldn`t put him onto it unfortunately but suspect he will now he`s been "Queenslandised".
  11. Look I`ve a good CTX for sale cheap, I`ll throw in a Deus to clinch the deal. Oh..... tis a dog for sure, where`s my leash..........
  12. Beatup, Pleeeeeeeeze don`t encourage the lad, I wont have any room in his shed for my gear. That bloody barra committed suicide, just lost all interest in living, but it was good chewing.........talk about tall tales......where`s me chocolate????????
  13. I have a Queensland name for Nurse Paul, Nurse Tangles....... not having a lend of ya, well just a wee bit...................
  14. On ya, bit more training and you`ll be good enough to call a Queenslander..........................
  15. No way, oh........ ah......... unless they cover the floor with nuggetos. Although I`ve advertised it with a experienced Subaroo thrown in...............
  16. No, no keep him over the pond anything even throw me in the briar patch............ Just got down hut, I can feel a barra coming on, got the taste for it, just can`t wait for it........................
  17. True, ML have as per norm kept a tight lid on it. Suspect now we are not going to get an updated CTX, but I haven`t a clue just a suspicion. Bit like betting on which ant gets to the bar ceiling first, good fun and you get to be shouted or shout the bar. Same difference MLs like the Bar Person just thrives on the speculation.
  18. Chuck, your on the money , downunder here we are after your money for sure............go Minelab.
  19. The only MDs I`ve had with internal routing of the cable are the Z, CTX and the SDC and to me that beats "wrap around". Rest have all had cables "rap around the rod" with the Deus as you point out Steve has "maybe" the ultimate cable solution......no cable. I think in the recent thread about the Monsters touch sensitivity, the main advantage of internal routing has been illustrated very well. Eastwest got this across to me when he pointed out the Monster is the first MD he has had without internal routing. So yeah for me I`ll go for internal routing the pro being that touch sensitivity issue has been eliminated but there is one con, placing and connecting this internal cable can be fiddly and there is a trap if you do not use care you can end up damaging the cable end where it screws onto the electronic box. Also I suspect the engineering and process required to allow this internal cabling has added extra cost to the MD, but that to me is money well spent.
  20. Nah, well don`t think so, tis just one of the advantages of old age, one doesn`t sleep as much. Reminds me of the yarn about Grandad and someone putting an auto turn on light in the loo.............nah can`t tell that one
  21. Tis OK, Paul come over the pond to be confused by one of his homeland Heyokas, the lads just trying to get his feet back on the ground.
  22. Well at least you guys and especially gals, could shoot it if it doesn`t perform, here in AU we`d have to beat it with a stick..............
  23. JW, Just don`t see what all the fuss and debate is about, but that is probably because I`ve been in this game so long, paying an ounce or so for a coil was once the norm, I am talking back a bit when gold was $300 or even less an ounce. Guess it comes down to attitude, I`d hate to cark it never finding out if something is the go or not. The most success I`ve ever got with a large coil was a Dtex concentric ( from fragmented memory cost about as much in gold as the Z19) on a Garret A2B, A2Bs were like hens teeth then and think I was "robbed" about 3ozs for one, but that was a "century" ago when the magic stuff was laying around like potatoes........... back in the "good" old days, imagine paying about 3ozs for a plain no-frills VLF now............... I guess "if you fear making a mistake you rarely make it right", that old saying was even more relevant in those days as buying a detector to find gold was seen as a wacked out thing to do by the "consensus". More chance of flapping your arms and flying to the moon if you get my drift...........oh how wrong the "consensus" seems to get it most the time. But ML if your`ve got your ears on send me a smaller coil for the Z, or an improved 14 that handles the ground like the 19, that is what we want now. No worries I`ll spruik your products as long as they keep getting the weight.............
  24. Confidence, ability and a positive attitude I believe are attributes you have JW, now once you have the 19 put it over gold too deep for the 14 and you`ll score for sure. Never mind I think............ I think.........lol
  25. Rumoured to be at least 50% deeper.............
