  1. And I thought I was bad chasing a target down. Welcome from East Texas.
  2. And a nice seashell too. Well done Sir.
  3. I am curious about the little "spoon" also. Perhaps to handle Mercury? The suspender clip is very neat. Nice RF cartridge cases too. .44 Henry? Hopefully V1.1 will get the D2 lined back out. The Legend does very well in the iron. I keep my first Tone break at 7 to help unmask in small ferrous. Nice hunt.
  4. Mark, Read all the forum discussion you can about running the Tarsacci, here and on Dankowski's forum. It will help a lot on the learning curve. That and try several different pairs of headphones until you find some that bring out the Tones the best for YOU. It should prove to be a very good machine in your red clay. I have the same type of soil on many of my relic sites but without the coal waste. Folks in East Texas were wood burners!
  5. Thank you for the reply. Helping on a professional archeology dig would be very interesting I'm sure.
  6. I have actually dug quite a few Ladies Compacts.
  7. @xawi29 Thank you for the information. Since I notice you have experience with the Rutus Alter & Atrex, what is your opinion on how their detectors perform in high mineralization. Also if the All Metal channel gives good ID depth. Has their detector performance increased with each new model's introduction? I am wondering what advancement the Versa may have above the Atrex 2.0.
  8. That is good to know. Is the added expense some sort of Import duty? I have never purchased anything from overseas before. One of the Polish sites lists the Versa as Out of Stock but prices about $785 w/ VAT. That does not include any shipping. Does the VAT apply to sales to the USA?
  9. That is some nice digging. Even the bigger iron could have been something interesting.
  10. I have also been studying the Users Manual for the Atrex V2 to get a better feel for their units. The Versa manual is not out yet. It has been a good education. They are serious about it.
  11. I sent an E mail inquiry to the UK distributor and received a prompt reply. The Versa is expected to be available in July/August. The anticipated price is 700 Pounds(about $868) A bit more expensive than I was hoping but I am quite interested even with added shipping.
  12. That's a good start. I dug some relics with mine this past weekend. Great machine in the right places.
  13. I have used mine a good bit on busy sites. It is every bit as good if not better as the KR24 I have for my Anfibio & the 5X8 on my AT Max. You will like it. I find myself using the LG30 the most.
  14. Both my grown daughters detect, usually with me on visits home. My wife has gone also a few times.
  15. Welcome from East Texas. I still have all of my subscription issues of Western Eastern Treasures magazine. Once upon a time they were my main source of information. Glad to have this forum but still miss a real magazine.
  16. Don't forget the upcoming release of the Rutus Versa. If it is priced right they may pick up some distributors and make some inroads in the market.
  17. So I assume this means you can adjust the volume of each component(Motion/Static All Metal & Motion Disc tone) of the Mixed mode as well as the sensitivity & other parameters?
  18. @EL NINO77 Is it possible to for the Versa's Mixed Mode to be true stereo so that with headphones the All Metal channel is in one ear & the Disc tone in the Other? That would be a huge benefit. The Tarsacci Mixed mode is not and the All Metal overpowers the Disc tone. Still useful but it could be so much better if it was stereo and each channel volume was independent.
  19. Given the supposed capability based on prior units(Alter 71 & Atrex) and the very high degree of adjustability to suit advanced users, it will be a top tier detector. Features like True threshold based All Metal & Mixed Mode aren't even offered by other major manufacturers. If it is introduced at a reasonable price it will be a formidable competitor and their Dealer network will expand. They have contracted to have it produced in a very modern facility that should have any needed production capacity. It may be like the Whites VCi3 or even Deus and seem too complicated to many but there are enough serious detector cranks in the world to make it a success. I intend to give it serious consideration since many of my sites on on difficult ground. I already have enough high performance daily drivers. Having something that can really push the boundaries would be interesting & fun. It may still be a while before Nokta introduces their PI & the Axiom is too much for me to justify.
  20. Nokta has been touting their no charge/free updates in their marketing. This has not been ignored by other manufacturers.
  21. We have "Buffalo Gnats" here at this time of year. They are very small & come in swarms. Their bite will instantly swell and itch for several hours. They love your ears, elbows, the corner of your eye and anywhere else that is hard to reach to swat. I much prefer plain hungry mosquitoes. I have a mesh veil hat too!
