The larger coil makes a noticeable improvement in the overall performance of the unit. Hard to describe but the machine seems bolder.

What is it made from, Brass? If so, I would not unless as a very last resort and then at a very low wattage with the good side coated heavily in Vaseline. A composite cleaning pencil would be my first choice.

Use spring steel; like the tension rods used to hold up the trunk deck lids of older passenger cars.

My understanding is that they are very similar. DP on Minelabs is said to be the most sensitive to faint targets. I have not been able to see that on the Legend’s Pitch vs the other tone choices. I usually run in 60 tone. For me Pitch is a special circumstance option.

It is amazing to me because of where I have lived all of my life, that a can old enough to have been vacuumed sealed with a solder dot is in such wonderful condition. I am assuming that it was found outside, not somewhere protected from the elements.

Distilled White Vinegar works well on iron relics.

Rutus Versa w/ DD23 coil. The site is where the home of a great man once stood. It is now a County park but unfrequented. I am fortunate to have been able to dig some nice relics & items that belonged to him. Those are his flowers, they still remember. He was a gentle man and a gardener among other virtues. Born 1815, died 1905. A friend of my Great, great grandfather.

Unfortunately it has some scratches on it. It was probably originally a charm on a bracelet. The other side has initials engraved on it, LP. My wife's initials before we married were TLP! No chain was found with it. I had my Jeweler fit it with a chain to match so it can be worn. Still, what would look much better after 100+ years in wet ground? The overall design with the beaded boarder is very nicely done.

In my little remnant of Eden, the best time of the year to be out of doors and especially to be detecting is late Autumn to early Summer. Springtime means the grass & weeds will soon be getting tall & the bugs will be out & hungry and I better get busy hunting. And just like every other year, Spring took me by surprise again. Now I have to decide; do I go detect that spot I have been putting off or plant potatoes? Guess I will have to make time for both.

Navigating the new platform is not quite intuitive for me. I just coonfinger around until it does what I want. In other words I use my Standard Operating Procedure for anything computer related.?

Jewelry is not something I specifically "target", but I will find the occasional piece hunting relics & old coins. Quality jewelry is very rare for me. I have been re working some well hunted sites with the Rutus Versa and have had good success finding additional targets of interest. Most of these have been relatively small and/or low conductors. The Versa is excellent in this aspect. One of these sites is an old swimming & picnic venue that was very popular beginning in the mid 1890s and closed to the public after WWII. The ground is mild but prone to being water logged much of the time. Silver coins come out of the ground encrusted in a hard black oxidation from the Sulphur & minerals dissolved in the ground water. It takes a soak in Navel Jelly to get them clean. Cents & Nickels are usually in very poor condition. Of course, there is plenty of smaller iron trash where wooden buildings once stood but very little modern trash. It is a neat place with many very large trees still thriving, but the activity & fun that once filled this place is gone, and all but forgotten by anyone still around. The target pictured below was a mixed signal & fairly quiet, but it wasn't iron so it gets dug at this location. It was about 7" down & came out of the ground pretty much as you see it, very clean & bright. I knew instantly it was the real thing. 18K Gold Filled, so a quality piece. I also knew instantly what I was going to do as my 42 Wedding Anniversary was in less than a week. My wife is very good about my detecting & other hobbies. 1903 is also a meaningful year to us both. The birth year of her Grandmother and my Great Aunt. Both left a large impression on our hearts. So, a young woman's loss long ago has come thru dark days to shine bright again, given once more in Love.
