  1. The guy pictured looks a lot like Rod Serling the narrator of the Twilight Zone? However it's the Holliday season and I have been partaking a little bit too much with the party favors.
  2. Thanks for your comment and words of encouragement Rockingham.I very much appreciate it. Doc
  3. All good points and information H P.Back in 1978 I was steelhead fishing a locally famous river over on the coast near Fort Ross and got bored with the fish and started poking around for evidence of early habitation.Long and very interesting story short I found a small camp laden with early bottle glass and trade beads. Which on a return trip with my Garrett Master Hunter VLF led to the discovery of many relics and artifacts both Russian and Native including several forged Harpoon Points used for seals, sea lions and otter hunting. They were either brought down from Sitka during the original expedition or more likely forged at the Russian colony.I've been contemplating for sometime about posting photos and the rest of the story???
  4. Thanks 350.The razor came out of a rock pile underneath a massive old oak.I was using my pinpointer stand alone to prod around in the crevasses etc now that the snakes are in the ground for the most part. Not enough space for even a smaller coil type situation if we ever do get one? I dig a lot of iron but you are spot on about the nickel knobs on the blades giving mixed tonal alerts as well as vdi. Doc
  5. Thanks JCR I really like the smaller blade with the antler or bone handle.Never considered your angle on it's useage though. As always I appreciate your input and knowledge...Love the iron and looking forward to seeing some of yours. Doc
  6. A little slow on the relic forum this week so I thought it would be an opportunity to post a few recent finds. The pick could win a prize for being the most used and abused. Both of the business ends were broken off and worn to a nub and when it split into two seperate pieces it was wired back together. The knife age unknown came out of the mud in a spring. Another similar but much smaller knife came out of the ground in three pieces shown with a.dateless and badly worn seated quarter found just inches away. The knife after being repaired. A few more recents including another knife with wood handle a goat bell and broken iron locomotive and an excellent condition straight razor with bakelite handle? Nothing here that would have made the cover of Western And Eastern Treasures but fun stuff none the less.Deus 2 modified relic program 9 coil.
  7. Excellent finds JCR....I like the Boy Scouts button very much, but the hideout card sleeve holder is at a diffirent level altogether. It looks very familiar to me and it conjurs up memories that I may have found one sometime in my long career, but I doubt it? Great collectables.
  8. My new forty something girlfriend and just learning to detect partner asked me for a pair of this brand of kneepads for Christmas.Happy days!
  9. The selling point for me on the knee pros that you sell is that they never slip and stay where they belong Always!Every other brand that I have used over many decades for construction work detecting and bottle digging have driven me batshit crazy because I was constantly having to fight the slippage. The hunting pants that I pictured in my previous post are very adequate for most of my endeavors but in some cases more protection is warranted hence my purchase of the hard-shells.
  10. Yes you do Doc and they are as good as you say they are. More than satisfied customer here.
  11. Bingo! You and Jeff M have hit the proverbial nail on the head! This guy has taken a lot of shots over the bow of Minelab and in my conspiracy orientated mind this was most likely a very cunning and well executed plot from the git go.And guess what ladies and gents XP gobbled the bait hook line and sinker.Congrats Merrill and mission accomplished you have now entered the big leagues! Now all that is left to see is that if you can get beyond your silly B.S.and rise up to the occasion?
  12. To quote a cliche from my addled youth and hippy days....Trippy!
  13. Ah there she is! Thanks for posting her Peg sometimes I think that I am loosing my marbles...Thats a killer point and would make even the most seasoned hunters day!
  14. All very nice finds Peg....It's good to see that you have developed your eye and the Native American Artifacts are coming your way.I do have to say though that I am a little disappointed that the much celebrated and highly coveted piddle point (your first?) isn't the star of the show?😩
  15. Christ on a crutch xp is that the best that you could come up with? A big step backwards in my in my opinion.
  16. Not sure about the shovel but it would be a game changer....If you find one let us know. Glad that you are better!
  17. That was a quick recovery 350! I see an xtreme hunter accessory package along with a new pick and no.2 round point shovel in your future.
  18. That's a good lookin Two center 350! It is always great to see the old stuff....Looks like it's game on!
  19. This probably sounds silly to a lot of you and may be slightly off topic but hey I've never been accused of not being a little different and at times going into overkill mode....Anyway purely out of frustration and having to deal with situations like the good CPT has pictured and far worse than that at times I have resorted to bringing along what are according to some the old and outdated equipment. My deus 1 remote which fits very well onto the d2 shaft the WSS over the ear headset and the HF elliptical coil and sometimes even the round HF coil. I have the 280 pack and there is plenty of room for everything.Besides sometimes I still like to hunt in the very high frequencies just for fun.
