Chase you are correct, but I added a bit to the post just now.

So, it remains to be seen how useful the AQ will be for relic hunters. All metal performance will quite possibly exceed the GPX series of PI and the fact that many ferrous objects are valuable historical relics may make it a very useful tool at places like Culpepper.

P.S. The details of Exactly how the AQ’s GB system works are still a mystery to me and if Alexandre explained it in detail, I’m not sure I would be allowed to share the “secret formula”!

Thanks, Rick.  Would give you a reaction like on your previous post but I hit my daily quota limit  Can't wait to see what your early production model looks like vs. the posted prototype pics.  One thing of interest is whether that headphone jack is still embedded in the armrest stem tube and a detaiked explanation of the settings/controls.

i will buy 1 or 2 ,just to see what 10000s of hard work translate into stability depth and discrimination.I love my g5c and will probably be buried with it,but i want an Impulse to check the UK beaches.......

Not if it's waterproof. Rumor was getting the headphones that come with it right was part of the delay. So there is another good question... what are they like?

The headphone and power connections are on the battery, headphones left, power right....

I see, so power gets routed from the battery power output up the stem into the control head and then into the coil via the head mounted coil connector as highlighted below.

Yes, not unlike what Minelab does with the GPX series.... battery plugs into detector and headphones plug into battery. This pass-through arrangement reduces the connectors at the control box to two, the power/headphones and the coil.

It also means aftermarket rods won’t be a trivial task for those thinking such things.
