  1. We are talking 40 years ago, right? "I have dug so much that their is literally nothing left that gives a clean signal, I am literally now in all metal mode and trying to dig everything" It's very possible you are not remembering the location completely, just saying. If you have dug all signals either with a crappy detector or a good one, it's very possible it's not there. Sounds like you did a very decent job of looking for it. I have no other good news to pass along, Sorry GaryC/Oregon Coast
  2. I thought Texas was a no hunt state? What are or are there any special rules in Texas. Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast
  3. Amazing picture and finds!! You are the head teacher and we are all the students. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  4. I've hunted many years at Southern California ski lifts. They don't let you get on the slopes with a detector until the snow melts there. Employees usually have the first shot at it anyway. I always came back with more than $20.00 US dollars at a time. Some jewelery even stuck in the branches of small bushes that the snow covered and when it melted the bush caught it. Ya, ya should have gone by and talked to her. At least in her mind someone would had her back in the melt season and you would have had a contact number. I just don't trust turning things in to unknowns as a third party. Great looking place!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  5. TreasureHunter5, Have you never used one, or are you using one? Your two posts don't agree. Just a bit confused here. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  6. Great finds! Doesn't sound like a P.I. will do you much good with all that iron there. It will probably just drive you crazy. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  7. How far from the ocean was the house in 1663? Was there loss of beach compared to today? Great beach! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  8. If anyone orders, don't order an extra battery. I have one available for $100.00 shipped. I know others had some for sale also. Just putting it out there. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  9. Sometimes you have to treasure those seventy-two cent days. Some will be better and a whole lot will be less!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  10. Most Universities are going to want to see the sample, not a photo. Just my experience in the past. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  11. I think you KNOW what would happen. You've certainly trained many of us! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  12. Looks like a type of Chert. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  13. Just a tad overwhelming!!!!! Good Luck with your request. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  14. If there was any logic to numbering, then why go from the X-Terra 70 to the 705? GaryC/Oregon Coast
  15. The broken green glass piece is a depression era salt/pepper shaker (it has a pattern name, but you would have to look that up). The amber ones look to be automatic bottle machine bottles, could have contained just about anything. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  16. Cobble? That's down right boulders! Nice recovery. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  17. Tom, I remember you guys talking about and doing that square patch digging down to bedrock way back when we were on Kinzli's. Lots of years ago. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  18. If you just search SOLDS on eBay you can see they are still selling anywhere from $30.00 to $250.00. I would say they are still viable. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  19. They were highly sought after in the day. Loved mine I had on a XS-2A Pro. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  20. I got the camlock for the AQ from Steve's, now how do I get the old twist lock off? I assume you guys are cutting it off? GaryC/Oregon Coast
  21. Have you used their repair facility? Always had good work done by them. Just a thought. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  22. Those conditions must have been perfect! Nice haul of silver for any beach. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  23. Yes, I did not mention I was hunting in All Metal. I also had my Impulse with me but did not get it on the ground, too much trash here. I brought my big tire wagon to haul all the gear to the site, as it's closed. Probably a 1/4 mile walk from the parked truck outside the park. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  24. I hunted an inland reservoir about four months ago, just as they were letting the water level down for the winter. I ,of course got there maybe way too early in the season to find the stuff out deeper but intended to go back later. This is a 120 mile round trip flyer so I don't hunt it often and have to rely on the locals (inland detecting club) to post about it's level during the year. Well a guy did such a post two weeks ago and showed the water level down significantly. Just what I was waiting for, even if the locals were going to get there first, thought I might hit it anyway. Had to wait two weeks for the weather to stop raining enough to make the trip. When I got there I was very disappointed to see the water level had risen up the bank another 25 yards from the last posting. Putting the deep swimming area out of bounds for me (I wasn't planning on doing any water hunting). Anyway, I probably got the last silver ring on the beach for the season. Using a Nox with factory presets, coming in at a solid 19 and maybe 3" deep. A 925 child's ring with a pretty red stone. Finds have been slim for me this year so any ring find keeps the spirits up. Get Out There and Find Something Good!!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
