  1. Even thirty years ago, I couldn't find that much silver in one hunt!!!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  2. Not looking good. What state? Any history of meteorites in your area? Plenty of old posts covering this topic to compare yours too. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  3. Does the cable hanging outside the pouch catch on stuff? Just asking, looks like a light setup. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  4. How could you have missed all that with another detector, any detector? GaryC/Oregon Coast
  5. bklein, I think you should keep posting your questions on this thread. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  6. Looks like a Mercury Error coin!!!!, just kidding. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  7. You've been warned, don't open up that can of worms!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  8. Nice Finds! If it had a floor heater, that's where I find most of my coins in torn down houses. Also every corner seemed to have something also. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  9. Bought the first one new after it came out shortly after I purchased my 70. The early ones had a problem with the battery connections/spring and would shut off occasionally. Eventually broke the ears off the coil, just wear and tear moved me to buy a used one off eBay. Then came the 800 and well the 705 doesn't get much work today. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  10. Actually, my wife probably finds more change in the parking lots than I find metal detecting. Around forty bucks last year, just in small change. If I'm in the car waiting for her in the market, I'll see her coming to the car by way of three rows over so she doesn't miss anything. Her manta is "I don't need no metal detector to find money". I have to live with that saying every time she picks up a penny!!!, Gota love her!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  11. I still haven't claimed a detecting find for a diamond ring found at a 7-eleven parking lot on my way home from detecting. I think you have to let this one go! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  12. Maybe you can cut the sides down on the "China" model that has withstood the abuse. Make the blade a bit narrower for plugging. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  13. I also used a wedding band that I found for our wedding 44 years ago! Detectorists think alike. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  14. We are talking 40 years ago, right? "I have dug so much that their is literally nothing left that gives a clean signal, I am literally now in all metal mode and trying to dig everything" It's very possible you are not remembering the location completely, just saying. If you have dug all signals either with a crappy detector or a good one, it's very possible it's not there. Sounds like you did a very decent job of looking for it. I have no other good news to pass along, Sorry GaryC/Oregon Coast
  15. I thought Texas was a no hunt state? What are or are there any special rules in Texas. Thanks, GaryC/Oregon Coast
  16. Amazing picture and finds!! You are the head teacher and we are all the students. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  17. I've hunted many years at Southern California ski lifts. They don't let you get on the slopes with a detector until the snow melts there. Employees usually have the first shot at it anyway. I always came back with more than $20.00 US dollars at a time. Some jewelery even stuck in the branches of small bushes that the snow covered and when it melted the bush caught it. Ya, ya should have gone by and talked to her. At least in her mind someone would had her back in the melt season and you would have had a contact number. I just don't trust turning things in to unknowns as a third party. Great looking place!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast
  18. TreasureHunter5, Have you never used one, or are you using one? Your two posts don't agree. Just a bit confused here. GaryC/Oregon Coast
  19. Great finds! Doesn't sound like a P.I. will do you much good with all that iron there. It will probably just drive you crazy. GaryC/Oregon Coast
