It's 5/8" with the coil cover on and about 1/2" with it off.

I meant to say with cover off.

Now you made me clean my coil out. 😄 I just measured with my calipers and the cover off and it's 0.63 inches or about 9/16ths of an inch.

That's pretty thick. Most coils are 3/8" or little less on some.

Thank you

Yeah, if you look at the x-ray of the Deus 9" coil that strick posted you can see the processor circuit board and battery are pretty good size so that's probably why it's a little thicker. Most coils have just a small circuit board and no battery so they can be pretty slim.

Yes, that's why. How much would that affect sweeping in the water? Would it be noticeable?

Well I haven't had the opportunity to do much water hunting with it yet, but I did a little along a lake shoreline and it didn't seem much different than my Nox with the 10x5"coil. But a real beach and water hunter could give you a better response... @Carolina ?

Hi Rick, I have the D2 with only the 9" coil and hunt water. No issues with working the coil in the water. It works easier than an Equinox with the 11" [by far]
