Garrett Axiom - New 3 Year Warranty Questions

Evening all. 

Noticed that all Garrett detectors, pinpointers and search coils now come with a 3 year warranty.     https://garrett.com/sport/axiom

Sorry if these have been asked somewhere else on the forum but a search did not bring anything up.  

1) Does this only apply to Axioms purchased from a certain date or have all Axioms purchased since the model was released been upgraded to the 3 yr warranty status?

2) is this 3 yr warranty transferrable from the first owner to the next?

Thought Garrett only had a 2 year warranty. Good to know they upped it to 3 years.

Best thing is toss them an email and they will answer that.

Wow, I'm very impressed. Just got a quick response from Garrett.

1. The new three year warranty is retroactive to all Garrett detector, pinpointer, and search coil owners. You all just got an extra year of warranty free!

2. Yes, detectors are warrantied from time of original purchase, regardless of who owns them. But second owners better get a copy of that purchase receipt to prevent bumps in the road.

Big kudos to Garrett. I've been in the retail game a long time, and can promise that going retroactive is not something most companies would do.

The new warranty from the online registration page:

Garrett Electronics, Inc. ("Garrett") warrants that each piece of detection equipment manufactured by Garrett is protected by the following limited parts and labor warranty for a period of 36 (thirty-six) months from the date of purchase. During this 36-month period Garrett will inspect and evaluate all equipment returned to its authorized repair station or factory to determine if the equipment meets Garrett’s performance specifications. Garrett will repair or replace at no charge to the owner all parts determined faulty or containing factory defects. This Warranty does not cover batteries nor any and all failures caused by abuse, tampering, theft, normal wear and tear, failure due to the weather, battery acid or other contaminants and equipment repairs made by an unauthorized party.

THIS WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE BUYER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT ANY ORAL STATEMENTS ABOUT THE MERCHANDISE DESCRIBED IN THIS CONTRACT MADE BY SELLERS’ REPRESENTATIVES, IF ANY SUCH STATEMENTS THEYRE MADE, DO NOT CONSTITUTE WARRANTIES, SHALL NOT BE RELIED UPON BY THE BUYER, AND ARE NOT A PART OF THIS CONTRACT FOR SALE. THE ENTIRE CONTRACT IS EMBODIED IN THIS WRITING. THIS WRITING CONSTITUTES THE FINAL EXPRESSION OF THE PARTIES’ AGREEMENT AND IS A COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE STATEMENT OF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT.

The parties agree that the Buyers’ sole and exclusive remedy against Seller shall be for the repair and replacement of any parts found to be defective from the factory. The Buyer agrees that no other remedy (including, but not limited to, incidental or consequential damages for lost sales, lost profits, injury to person or property) shall be available to them.

Special Notice to Foreign Customers: Terms of this Warranty may vary depending on the country in which this equipment was purchased and delivered. Any claims based on this Warranty must be made to Garrett’s local representative or agent. Do not attempt to return any Garrett products to the factory in the United States without written authorization from Garrett’s local agent or representative.

Excellent Garrett, only problem is I've never had a faulty Garrett product out of 3 pinpointers and 4 detectors so I doubt I'll be using my new longer warranty.
