Rail Dawg
What's the current feedback on the GPZ-19 coil? Good to have? Thanks.
Rail Dawg
Just found JP's blog post comparing the two coils. Answers my question but am still open to input.
Steve Herschbach
I have one. I would only use mine in relatively flat or rolling terrain, with wide open spaces. I think for me at least the chances of extra depth are minimal compared to just having better ground coverage. It’s an expensive coil, so you have to be doing lots of detecting to make it worthwhile as a secondary coil. There are a few people who use it as their primary coil, but frankly it’s just too much weight for me to be my full time coil. The main problem though is I hunt sagebrush country and so the large size is not practical for the spaces I hunt most of the time.
Rail Dawg
Yeah we're up here in sage brush country too (Northern Nevada). Thanks Steve.
fredmason
you may find the swing-arm and hipstick very useful for the 19 inch coil....but, keep your pick far, far away! fred

Steve Herschbach
?? Released over a year ago. I used mine last summer. My toy list has gotten a lot shorter this spring as I shed excess detecting gear.
DigsAlot
Must have looked at the year stamp wrong. Still stands that you have all the toys. I like the look of that coil just seems to big. I guess it is because I like dry stream hunting.
