Dubious
11-14 is about right. Because of differences in ground and whatever else is nearby, impossible to count on exact numbers for any nickel, at least where I am. Also, while I agree the Nox is good for seeing nickels, it is even better at finding pulltabs--and none of the tricks used have helped much with that... oldmancoyote1
About the black Broach or what ever it is. It looks very much like something I found last summer. It was actually a buckle of some sort. If yours is a buckle, do you have any idea about how it was used?
kac
That really shiny nickel at the bottom of the first pic a wartime nickel? Looks like it has silver in it. Square tabs run just above nickels and gold. Folded square tabs trip me up quite a bit because they ring in even lower than reg square tabs. I swear people fold them just to mess with me in some sort of conspiracy ?
stevejhgla
Anyone ever get a grunt of -1 on a nickle? Hunting in beach2 on wet sand swfl.
cudamark
I have yet to find a nickel that read 14. Lower number, sure, lots of them....especially deep or corroded ones. I found one buffalo nickle at the beach that read 9. It was totally encased in an iron sand crust. I take depth into consideration as much as TID when comes to dig or not. The deeper it is, the less I worry about the number.
