  1. Past hour
  2. I never noticed any performance difference with carbon vs stock abs. Oversized coils like the Nel Big may sound off on the middle shaft as I have experience but only when they were moved.
  3. Mine has big numbers too. Never noticed it as an issue as I pretty much use my custom programs with x/y.
  4. Again, Legend, Equinox 600, saltwater hunters need an SMF. Single-freq machin (especially IN the saltwater) means you're missing gold.
  5. Today
  6. The screw used in the stick is for gpx5000 I forgot to shoot video, reaching high sensitivity and stability and moving the dish very comfortably
  7. I made a wooden stick to test the device in gold mode. The sensitivity reached 30 and the ground was highly mineralized and the temperature was high. The device was very stable, much better than before.
  8. it would be best to see some comparative tests of Elite vs EQ 600 vs EQ700...
  9. Hello. Hey, everybody. Maybe someone has already received their X terra elite device and was able to compare it with Equinox? Is there a significant difference? What is the depth of the device? And also stability? Does the device compare to Equinox? I would be grateful for the feedback.
  10. I would think a member of this forum already has some time behind this detector. Which member? Only garrett and that person knows. We will hear from them the day it's released. This is all speculation on my part, but I have a 50/50 chance of being right, so I'm feeling confident 😄
  11. This is what I'd be doing. If not, take it to your nearest dealer and see if they have a battery you can try on your machine. If it turns out to be a bad battery, Minelab are able to refurbish it for around $100 with new cells. We've done this in the past for customers. If it doesn't work with different batteries then it might be a corroded connector internally which I've seen before too.
  12. Yesterday
  13. I’m wondering if it’s too late to send Garrett a list of what we want in this new detector and still get it out by next week . Garrett right now you’ve got out undivided attention. We all pulling for you even if it may be in different directions. Right now I want to know who’s going to be the first to buy it and report back your views on it.haha I know we all will jump in with both feet and buy it then swear it’s the best detector we’ve ever owned. Chuck
  14. When the Xxterra Pro came out it was said the Equinox coils would work on the Xterra but not conversely. Now with the Elite being a Multi-Freq machine I wonder if its coils are interchangeable with the Equinox. An 8 inch would be a sweet addition for the 900. As far as the new upgrade goes, I remember the mixed reviews on the Manticore upgrade so I'll take the wait and see approach. The Legend has been my go to this year, and although haven't got out much, am quite pleased with its performance.
  15. You like me in I have no pride either.haha Isn’t it great being worthless! When I forget that my X wife reminds me. Chuck
  16. Should have held on to a Tesoro!!!! On my birthday I just sell gold jewelry it’s found and save the money for bad technology decisions 😂😂
  17. That's quite the direct approach lol. When I get a gift, I say, "Thank you for the gift, but I really don't need this. Can you please return it and give me the cash value instead?" 😁
  18. I'm wondering if anyone else is have the same problem as me with the "big number screen". In the General Program, I enable the big number screen with no problem When I turn off the big number screen and go back to the General program everything is fine. When I then turn of my remote and turn it back on the General program screen comes on as it should for a few seconds and immediately reverts to the big number screen. I ran through the process at least 10 times with the same results. I tried this on some of the other programs and they all returned to their original screen set up. Any thoughts. Thanks, El
  19. My birthday was back in May and was ask what I wanted and I said cash . I bought a detector with it. Now here’s Father’s Day and again I’m asking for cash. Only time will tell and I’ll leave it at that. Garrett it better be a super great detector if you want to get my money . Chuck
  20. Your analysis assumes lump masses which is only approximate for the hand. The cable is made up of fine strands of wire which, individually, are extremely hard to detect because eddy loops are tiny. Even when woven into a braided shield, detectability is still difficult because the eddy loops only get slightly larger. The shaft has a broad surface area so the eddy loops can be large when the shaft is laid against the coil, which is where the problem is greatest. When the shaft is exactly perpendicular to the coil the problem is minimized. Same is true for the cable, which is why prospectors often run the cable straight up the shaft for the first 1/2 meter or so. The CF shaft should be a complete non-issue when the detector is in a non-motion situation, like waving dirt across a static coil. After all, the shaft is completely motionless relative to the coil. But, as I showed in my video, it is possible for a hot rock (or a scoop of mineralized dirt) to generate a false signal by inducing a dynamic eddy in the shaft. Unless you tape the cable down on the top of the coil it is unlikely to cause this issue.
  21. Yep, Bill is about as experienced as it gets. He is also a trainer for gold prospecting and a long time multi brand metal detector/prospecting gear dealer. He is not new to the Manti in general. He has owned one since the release. He has done plenty of coin and relic hunting with it. He has not used it much for gold prospecting since the M8 coil release took forever and he made sure his customers got theirs first including me. Bill has been hunting the Little San Domingo area for about 30 years. He was not running the Manticore too hot for those soil conditions. Sensitivity 20 out of 35 on the Manticore for that area is about right. If it wasn't, he would have lowered it. I usually ran my Equinox 800 at 18 of 25 in the same area. So does Bill. That is mostly correct. However, had Bill laid the Manticore down with the coil perpendicular to the shaft, there simply would have been no problem. Instead, since he is a very small nugget gold prospector, he laid the Manticore down with the coil parallel to the shaft with the coil actually contacting the shaft repeatedly as he attempted to quiet it down. Respectfully, thinking out loud, musing and speculating sometimes in posts is something I try to avoid especially when I know next to nothing about what is being discussed. Asking questions instead of giving answers at least for me is a more fruitful approach.
  22. I don’t think Garrett will care what color we wear as long our money is green and everyone of us wants this new detector thinking we can’t live without it. Chuck
  23. I'm not denying that, I'm trying to explain/understand it, Sir 😊
  24. Chuck----You're going to get yourself into some REAL trouble doing that!!!!!-----All them young chicks out there are now gonna be "hittin" on you!!!----It isn't your fault you say--tell that to your wife---She's gonna beat you up BUT GOOD!!-----You HAVE been warned! ha ha
