  1. Doc has a great deal going on the Swingy Thingy and Saga swing Arm rite now so I went with that deal and purchased it I have been searching the net for the Hip Stick but have not had any success in finding where I can purchase it here in the U.S as of yet, with the issues I have been having with my lower back, sounds like it might be an answer to those problems, I have ended up in the hospital for my lower back issues three times now in the last 2 months and when those issues hit it literally buckles my knees as it feels like someone has shoved a knife into my lower back on my right side so I am trying to alleviate those issues from happening
  2. Thanks @Doc and @phrunt I am sold getting ready to place an order as I type
  3. Been contemplating ordering Docs Swingy Thingy, and the Saga Swing arm, since I added the Axiom 16x14 Mono Coil for sure going to pick up the Swingy thingy and Queegle bungee attachment but was wandering if it is worth adding the Saga Swing arm also, does it give you more control of your detector and coil, and can the Swing arm be removed when I am running the 11x7 Mono and DD without to much trouble, just to remove the added weight the 16x14 throws the balance off quite a bit on the Axiom, and at my age it is a bit of a work out swinging those big coils Thanks for any replies
  4. I agree with everyone on @Goldseeker5000's book choked full of all kinds of info for all areas of detecting Nuggets it is a great learning resource
  5. I sure like My X Pointer Max wit the Magic Holster George, its my favorite pointer of the 4 I have, looking forward to your report.
  6. welcome on board, also as others have said enjoy watching your videos
  7. Thanks for the replies @Steve Herschbach and @Joel - cacadordereliquia greatly appreciated, I will go ahead and pick up the 16x14 Mono and then keep an eye out for Steve's reviews on the X coils when they come out since Mr H is going to be testing that 8 inch X Coil, I will be keeping an eye out for that also Sometimes for me it takes a little ranting or debating myself before I can finally make up my mind so this has helped a lot for me to choose And Yes I always go out with the thoughts in my head that I am going to find something big or small and always hope for that big big nugget, either way it just comes down to having fun, that is what dreams do for you, without dreams what do we have, going to go big and then hope I swing across a big deep target LOL either way I will be prepared for what ever the situation calls for.
  8. I need some help in Choosing which big Mono Coil to purchase for the Axiom I currently have the 13x11 DD and the 11x7 Mono which were in the package I purchased, I also picked up the 11x7 DD I am wanting to add one of the big Mono's for the Axiom, but can not decide if I want the 13x11 mono or the 16x14 Mono Someone please sway me one way or the other LOL How much depth will I gain with the 16x14 Mono over the 13x11 Mono if any, I know this depends on several things ??? how much sensitivity to smaller gold will I loose with the 16x14 Mono or the 13x11 Mono if any ???, I also know there is to many factors to consider on this one also price is only like $20-$30 more between the two so not an issue in my opinion So there is my dilemma, so again give me some reasons to choose the 13x11 mono or the 16x14 mono for me it keeps coming down to (if I am going to go big go the biggest I can currently purchase) LOL Thanks for reading my RANT
  9. On all my VLF detectors I usually run the coil cable straight up the top of the shaft securing it with Velcro type cable straps, I usually do this all the way up the lower shaft and then wrap the coil cable around the Mid shaft to the control housing, this has always worked for me my question is, is it ok to do the same thing on a PI like the Axiom or should the coil cable be wrapped all the way up the shaft starting with the first wrap over top of the shaft ???, or is straight up the shaft ok ??? in the photo is how I have the coil cable on my Axiom
  10. I am the same as Jeff I have had no issues pairing my Avantree's to either of my Legends, the only time I have had issues is if the Bluetooth is active in my Cell then the Avantree's will end up pairing with my cell phone so I always turn the Bluetooth off in my Cell and then pair the Avantree's to the Legend, once they pair up with either of my Legends the next time it is almost immediate when they pair the next time, but I still turn the Bluetooth off in my Cell I would suggest to do a factory rest of the Bluetooth in the Legend and try to pair your Legend again with the Avantree's
  11. Well here is the thing which I did not mention, I have done as you stated went through and deleted all old update files and all old driver files and did a complete clean of everything in my PCs and then downloaded a new fresh update file from Nokta's site, it did not help in fact I have done this as stated above probably 20 times to no avail, I also even went as far as purchasing a new PC just for the purposes of the updates of the Legend and the only version that has been put on that PC is a fresh download of the 1.11 software update it has not helped, I have tried reverting back to 1.09 it did not help, as I stated the only thing that did help is I used one of my PCs which had the older first update installer on it and installed a 1.80 version that a friend sent me (I believe that was a beta version that was sent to testers) none of us normal end users never knew this version existed it was never released to us normal end users that 1.80 version was when I finally was able to start seeing good things again. When I was sent this loaner control pod I reinstalled 1.11 on my older Legends to do the comparisons because I wanted to do apples for apples comparisons not apples to plums, when I re installed 1.11 on my two older Legend everything went sideways again, I did this re install using a brand new PC that has only ever had one download of the 1.11 in it, it is not normal at all I have seriously thought about downloading the 1.13 version and install it on one of my Legends just to see if it changes anything or jars something loose in the brain of my one of my older Legends just to see if it works any different @Jeff McClendon yes you did offer which i do appreciate that, and I may end up sending the control pods to you but I want to give Nokta a chance to fix this issue how ever that may end up being, I figure all the pains I am going through it may just help others to find out why their Legends lost depth also among other issues (maybe), I do not believe my problems are unique to just my two legends, based on discussions I have had with others that are seeing the same things I have been seeing, those that I have talked to with similar issues like I have had all have older Legends and are pretty much seeing the same things I have seen.
  12. for me I actually had to increase the tone into the higher frequencies to hear it better, I ended up on the complete opposite spectrum from you Steve I am running it at 83 @Steve Herschbach do you find that you have to adjust that tone a little through out the day or does it seem to stay the same for you through out the day, one of the things Kevin mentioned in the video is it can change through out the day.
  13. Honestly I wish I would have modified it when I first purchased it, it feels so much better to me, now with the 40 inch shovel handle in it, it feels much lighter than when it had the 24 inch handle which surprised me completely, also added a 160 LB pull magnet to it but removed it pretty quickly, that was way to much of a magnet, so went with a 70 pound pull, attached at the end of the handle and also one on the bottom of the spike, that 160 pound pull magnet would have picked up a car door LOL.
  14. Looks like a heck of a haul to me, nice saves
  15. Like I said phrunt it seemed to help me when I followed Kevin's instructions on how to do it, the Legend tones can also be adjusted so I am going to try this with the Legend also and see if it makes a difference, at one point in the video Kevin did say that this could change through out the day, I took that statement that possibly ones hearing would or could change through out the day and you might have to stop and readjust the tone again (or Maybe I read to much into that statement)
  16. this is a tip from Kevin Hoagland on the Axiom, I actually tried this Tone adjustment tip with my Axiom and it did seem to help with being able to hear things clearer, with me having severe tinnitus this seemed to work for me (Video Below)
  17. I have been using a Bunks Hermit pick for a few years now, I find it to be one of the best picks I have ever used very well made pick for prospecting, I also have his burro Pick as well, which I do like but not as much as Bunks Hermit Pick, but the hermit pick always felt heavy to me and always felt to short for me so I modified it, it came with a 2 foot handle, i wanted a pick I could use for nugget hunting and also use it as a walking pick as well as one that I could use to get up of the ground after retrieving a target, what I did was remove the 2 foot handle and replaced it with a 40 inch handle, and honestly this 40 inch handle as strange as it seems made the Hermit pick to feel lighter and it accomplished what I wanted I now can dig while standing up and I can use it to help me get back up when I go down on my hands and knees to retrieve a target and it also made it a great walking pick,Bunk produces some fantastic picks and I would not hesitate to purchase another hermit pick again from him, and no this hermit pick you do not carry in a holder on your belt, even at the 2 foot length Bunk instructs you to never carry the hermit pick while hanging off your belt as that spike could do some serious damage if you fell on it, I always carried it in my hand where if I fell I could throw it side ways or away from me my recommendation for anyone wanting to purchase a Hermit Pick from Bunk just purchase the head only and then add a shovel handle which can be purchased from Ace Hardware,Home Depot or Lowe's and most likely any good hardware store
  18. it is easy for different people to just blow things off as (USER ERROR) which I do believe happens, that is what I have gotten from numerous people telling me I am full of crap that there is nothing wrong with the 1.11 (if that were only true) with some of the Legends, i could eventually work through trying to get both my Legends to perform as they should I have contacted several people one of which started this thread @Jeff McClendon, nothing has helped like I stated i do not believe there is an issue with the latest version, but I do believe there is an issue with the way some of the older Legends accepted the 1.11 update, what it is I have absolutely no clue, I am not even sure Nokta can figure out why one Legend works as it should on 1.11 and another Legend falls flat on its face while running 1.11, or how a Legend that in my mind was running flawlessly on one version then I install what was supposed to be the finalized version of that same version and everything went sideways completely. I believe there is an issue internally like a bad board or something, but actually have absolutely no clue, all I do know is when you have over $1500 tied up in two detectors and they do not or will no longer perform it is pretty frustrating to say the least, and you contact people to try to get them to help you figure it out and all you get is (USER ERROR) to be honest it chaps my ASS and leaves a bad taste in my mouth, could I ever in good conscience recommend a Legend to anyone, if i could get mine to run like what I seen in 1.10 Beta Test version 3 or this new control pod absolutely with out a doubt (and I have ) recommended the Legend to people but I cannot with the way both my older legends are running ever recommend the Legend again to anyone until Nokta or someone figures this out as to why some Legends work great and others are dogs, it is that simple for me.
  19. I would agree with you if and this is a big if all three detectors are acting the same, the fact is and you most likely missed this my Loaner control pod is working flawlessly running the same settings on the same ground and same targets, the issues I am seeing has nothing to do with EMI, multi frequency or anything else like that, the loaner pod is seeing targets 6-8 inches deeper and on some targets even deeper Trust me I have been in this metal detecting game long enough to know when EMI is affecting my VLF detectors or not You may have missed this also but here it is again prior to installing the 1.11 version on both my detectors I was having no issues at all in fact here is something else you may have missed or just not read, on one of my Legends my one that was originally a 1.04 version Legend I was testing the 1.10 beta test versions again the only one of those three Beta test versions that I had any issues at all was the Beta test version 2, 1.10 Beta test version 3 like I stated I could have asked for nothing more out of a detector it was running fantastic, the 1.10 Beta test versions were the pre cursor to 1.11 and 1.11 should have come out Identical to 1.10 Beta test version 3 but and this is a huge but it did not on either of my Legends, in fact my initial install of 1.11 my Legend that I had done all the testing with of the beta test versions it had a huge depth loss and what I mean by huge depth loss is it would not even see a target unless that target was setting on the surface and the coil was almost touching that target, it went from seeing targets that were 4-14 inches deep in my test bed, to not being able to se a target that was rite on the surface with the coils almost touching the targets, I took it back in and re installed the 1.11 version (my test bed has been in the ground for almost 1.5 years) at the time (and yes i performed a factory default reset) it took me 3 re installs and factory resets before I could finally get that legend too hit a target at 3 inches deep, i have done what I mentioned above and it has not helped at all. I was able to get one of my Legends to start performing again but it was not with 1.11, I had someone that sent me a version 1.80 (which is a version that none of us normal end users had no clue even existed) it was never released to us normal users, I had to use the old update installer to install that 1.80 on my Legend which I choose to install it on my oldest Legend, this 1.80 has all the same features as 1.09, it does not have the BC, or GS features nor does it have the AG feature in gold mode once I installed this 1.80 my issues went away, which I know most would say hey just run with that since it works sorry that is not me I want all the features whether I use them or not, I want them there to have access to all the tools at hand if needed, 1.11 is the current update or version and 1.11 is a good version on some of the Legends.
  20. The issues I am seeing Jeff I do not believe are due to 1.11 version but rather an issue with the way both of my legends accepted the 1.11 update, i also believe those that are having the issues of reported depth loss is not due to the 1.11 version update, I have my reasons for stating this which I have relayed to you in a PM, but I will post some of it here i acquired what I call a new version Legend control pod, which is a control pod that has only ever had 1.11 version in it, it came from the factory with 1.11 already installed and 1.11 is the only version that has ever been in this particular control pod. I also do not believe this is an issue with all legends but just some of the first and possibly second runs of the Legends in other words the ones that came with 1.04 and 1.05, the older Units, and not even all of the first Legends just some of the first production runs of Legends. in my comparisons between my older Legends and this new version control pod I am seeing a huge depth difference between the three units and when I say a huge depth difference i am talking anywhere from 6-8 inches of difference in depth between this new control pod and my two older Legends, my first Legend was originally a 1.04 version from the very first batch that hit the U.S my second Legend was originally a 1.05 version Legend, on the same targets and same ground all settings equal in A (All Metal) mode, I am seeing a huge depth difference of anywhere from 6-8 inches both of my Legends were working fantastic, yes I had a few issues with update installs but mainly due to the very first installer tool (which many of us had issues with that installer tool), when I ran the three beta test versions 1.10 beta test version 1,2, and 3 i only had issues with beta test version 2, Beta Test version 3 I only installed on my first legend I purchased, I could not have ask for a detector to perform any better than that detector performed so when 1.11 came out I installed it with out hesitation and with out any issues other than one which did concern me, after I installed the 1.11 was when I started seeing all the issues the one concern I had and still to this day concerns me is how 1.11 ended up in my PC, it just magically appeared out of the blue without me having to go to Nokta's site and download it, it was just there, which has always bothered me, because all the past updates we all had to go to nokta site, download what ever update was new at the time and then Extract the files and install on our Legends, but this was not the case with 1.11 also all the past updates in the instructions was to shut down firewalls and anti virus protections this was also not the case with 1.11, like I stated 1.11 just miraculously appeared in my PC on the updater tool without having to do anything, this has never sat well with me and I am not sure had the update not ended up on my PC the way it did if I would have seen any of the issues I have seen since installing the 1.11 version I am compiling some video comparisons that I will be sending to Nokta showing this but the videos are going slow because I have been having some back issues with some of my lower back Disc on my right lower back so I can only do as much as I can until my back says to stop, I ended up in the hospital because of this shortly after receiving this new control pod and yes it was sent to me with no charge from Andy at we Dig, it is taking me a bit to do the videos but I am slowly getting them together
  21. I have been pondering whether to pick up the 16x14 Mono or the 13x11 Mono ever since I purchased my Axiom and I have decided to go with the 16x14 Mono was able to check out a friends Axiom with the 16x14 mono mounted I was very surprised at just how lite the Axiom is with the 16x14 Mono, for me personally it did not feel any heavier or any more unbalanced than the other three coils I already have, which is the 11x7 Mono and DD and 13x11 DD, it was very comfortable for me, I may also eventually purchase the 13x11 Mono also but for now I will just go with 4 coils the 11x7 mono and DD, the 13x11 DD and the 16x14 Mono. According to some one at Garrett that I spoke to on the phone you can purchase the 13x11 Mono from Garrett Direct but so far every time I have checked the Garrett site there is no way to add the 13x11 Mono to your cart to purchase I am also keeping an eye out on these X Coils for when they become available for sale, and will most likely purchase an X Coil when they do become available for sale, but for now I will be content with the four coils I have decided on
  22. Well I was going to give you a link to two of the ones that I have been using and have worked really good but they are no longer available on amazon, SORRY The Avantree Torus work fantastic and have worked fantastic with every detector I have used them with. Steve also recommended a transmitter
