  1. Yes thank you. I have been following tide charts for years. But is does not take into account wind push and storm factors. All of which can ruin the best low tide.
  2. Even at low tide I can not get out as far as I would like. Dave
  3. I am surprised with the "no chains" as well. I have found plenty with my GT hunting in all metal pinpoint. I would estimate at least 10-12 of different sizes without a pendant attached.. I hope the nox will also be able to do that......I agree, everything changes in salt. Dave
  4. WOW...lots of digging right there! Great! Rings got to be there!
  5. My limited time tells me the PP mode on the Nox is worthless. Both for pin pointing and hunting, there is no reason to switch out of detecting mode to pin point as detecting mode gives a nice narrow signal..This comes from 25 years on the Sovereign. There has been talk that all metal mode gives great signals however you will be looking at your screen for numbers more. Report back. Dave
  6. Two questions. Were you in Auto Ground Balance? Also did you try all metal mode? Dave
  7. First I appreciate your reply. I am in your camp on caring less about small gold. My comment on coil control is just due to lack of time on the Nox. For some reason I felt I could move the coil too fast in a recovery of 6 and miss a target. I am sure with more time this will hopefully pass. Where I hunt if a wave retracts, I like to swing as fast as possible while no water is standing there. I do see what you see once a target is acquired, THEN there is a certain speed which is needed for good ID. Thanks for the explanation of the block. For some reason I thought you might be using this as a hedge for black sand and/or moving water? The beach where I hunt has no can slaw and almost no tinfoil. However I will try that block to see the results, it does make sense. Dave
  8. Bringing back up for clarification by the OP....... Have you tried this block in salt water? Would you be worried it would also reject small gold chains? #2 If I am digging anything with a good repeatable signal say 7 plus, why should I run more than one tone? Just pick one tone and run the "tone volume" all the way up? Also you call it "coil control" maybe sweep speed? My opinion as a beach hunter: I do not like how sensitive this detector is to sweep speed. Dave

  10. Are they making them with the 1/8 waterproof plug? What makes them "equinox". Dave
  11. In my limited use......I noticed a bit more defined target in AM. Are you in AM? did you try switching?
  12. I thank everyone for looking. I have found a solution, there are persons making cables. Dave
  13. A waterproof connector cable like Minelabs BUT where my Black widows and Sun Rays will work. I am not a solder guy. But this is a great business idea that will sell thousands. My guess is cheaper and better than a $40 bill to Minelab for something not working. Please contact me directly for my specifications, if you can or want to. Thanks Dave
  14. Anything in dry sand for me beach 1 works. I can not use beach 1 in wet or water on my beach. Beach 2 is mandatory. ANY other mode is too chatty no matter the sand.
  15. I doubt many here hunt a rougher beach than I do in Mexico. IF my headphones would work...…..Maybe a review I could give. After 8 hours of use, and a good wave pounding I do not see long term issues right now. I already know the Equinox loses depth and finding ability in moving water. Now does it lose more or less ability than my Sovereign? I would need about 50 more hours to answer. D
  16. I want to make it clear that after 8 hours on the machine now it is NOT working correctly with the WM08 either.
  17. NO and I am so pissed. I was on the phone with Minelab Tech support today. They want me to try a mono to stereo adaptor in-line. I asked them where I could find one where I am at in Mexico? They are selling a cable with ZERO testing and letting everyone figure out there own issues. A .75 cent adaptor would of solved this issue and should have been looked after by the MFG. Did they REALLY think someone buying this cable with 1/4 jack was going to use their specific headphones????? Dave
  18. If you are using the WM08 AND the minelab waterproof cable, AND black Widows or Sun Ray phones and you "think" you are having performance issues please let me know!
  19. Hi Randy Neither my sun rays or black widows would work with the waterproof cable and flipping the mono/stereo switch on both phones made no difference.
  20. No soldering for me. I will look for a Mono to Stereo adapter but do not think any of my local stores will carry one now that Radio Shack is closed.. But for the .75 cents they cost Minelab should of had one in the bag.
  21. The Minelab factory phones are 1/8 jack as well for the Sony ones. Other than the Widow's and Pro Golds I have no other 1/4 jack phones.....but the cable works OK with the WM08.??
  22. Yes the factory phones work [plugged in] as do these pissy little Sony things I have.
  23. Yes Minelab waterproof connector direct to detector no sound to either Sun ray or Black Widows.
