  1. For me to want wireless coils the cost needs to come down lots . If I can keep buying wired coils for about a third of the cost of wireless ones that alone is enough as far as I’m concerned. Wireless headphones is something I don’t leave home without it and it’s something all can afford. Chuck
  2. Could it be that White’s didn’t like you say anything about another detector company with the same breathe ? Chuck
  3. I hope all has had a great year and today we give thanks for that. Let’s give thanks for family and friends be far are near. We only here for a short time so let them remember the love you had for all and you too will be remembered. Chuck
  4. Dubious You said White’s is looking for a design engineer and here I am sitting by the phone waiting for that call . I would think my phone should be ringing off the hook by now . Like so many things I just don’t understand it.haha Chuck
  5. I googled it up and found they come in many different sizes. Chuck
  6. I just found this video and the guy was saying what the price would be for the ORX. I think it’s been said already about 800 pounds are about 1022.00 US and that’s with the wireless headphones. He said without them it would be 700 pounds are 894.00 US . It was google that told me the dollar amount. I’m just not that smart to figure that out. Oh well they can ask anything they want . Chuck
  7. I was just watching a Deus video and this guy dug up what he called a crotal bell . The is it looks something like what we been looking at here. Chuck
  8. Steve I don’t know why you always have to be right but you are . I’ll eat humble pie and say I’m sorry about that. That’s why we got all these young kids on here to keep me on the straight and narrow path. Chuck
  9. I just got another email from XP Deus just minutes ago talking about the ORX but saying no more than I already knew. I guess the last day of November we’ll know it all. Chuck
  10. My ace in the hole was the Equinox 600 that I was going to slide next to the 800. In my opinion should push the price of all other detectors lower in price. This is all relating what the detector has to offer and how it should be priced. I could have put up any detector that was waterproof. Being waterproof was the first factor to come in to the evaluation of this post I started. I’m well aware that all detector companies will sell their product at a price that a profit can be made. I believe also some will still be buying single frequency detectors years from now . We humans will pay the price of something if we like it and a lot of people like single frequency detectors. If Minelab didn’t come out with the Nox all of us dumb butts would have been happy with what we had ! For over fifty years I’ve been happy with a single frequency detector but Minelab has really upset my apple cart. If I die today it will be nothing but unrest knowing I could have been swinging a Nox if Minelab had come around sooner.haha Chuck
  11. Both the MX Sport and the Equinox 800 are waterproof and that’s about where the two are alike ends. Now if we want to put the detectors that have the option to run in different frequencies then how would you place them in price? I speaking about the ones that have other frequencies but still run only one at a time . Now remember the Equinox is at the top with a price of 899.00 and a true multi frequency. Would you want to slip it in between the Sport and the Equinox in price? Maybe we could lower the price of the Sport and place the ones we’ve been talking about in it’s spot.. Just thinking out loud but everyone has their own opinion. Chuck
  12. Geotech I’ll take your 3 multifrequency detector if you can give me a better than average ID at 6 to 10 inches .I will need the weight off of it because age has caught up with me . l have no pride! I’ll take the senior discount.haha The Best To You Carl ! Chuck
  13. Deus keep saying the ORX will be out by the end of November. I find it hard to believe that someone in the good old USA don’t have one in their hands as I write this. When a new detector like the ORX hits the market so does videos and dealers telling you what they have you can’t live without. This flood of info is not generated over night but long before we see the first unit. It’s also talk if you really want to coin hunt with the ORX you may see the need to buy the X35 coil. As all know it don’t come cheap! This is just another detector that’s running one frequency at a time. I believe the thing it has going for it is being under two pounds. I think just about every grandkid I got could swing it . They talking about the price may hit around a thousand and with nine grandkids forget that. Chuck
  14. I see I need to clarify on what I said . If First Texas can come out with a detector equal to the Equinox 800 are better in what it has to offer and weight, I’ll make the trip. I just don’t see the need to advance to the rear when what I want is already here in the Equinox 800. The trip that I was talking about is six hundred miles but for some that’s on the market now I wouldn’t walk across the street for . Minelab has set the level in excellence with the Equinox 800 in capability, weight and price. I speak only for myself when I say this. The day of a detectors face covered in knobs is history and I came to that conclusion with my Eagle 2 in 1991. That has to be what 27 years back to 91 and yet some still don’t get it . That is anything less is less! Chuck
  15. Hey Fred I don’t see nothing wrong with that. A little of something is better than a lot of nothing. Hope they invite you back and you even do better the next time. One thing about gold it don’t make any difference if it’s small are large it’s still gold. Chuck
  16. Geotech ( Carl ) The day First Texas comes out with a true Multifrequency detector let me know. I will drive from San Antonio to El Paso with money in hand and buy it . I will also treat you to a steak dinner. I wish you well on this endeavor. Chuck PS Maybe it will go from First Texas to Texas First .
  17. Hey Buzzard Don’t feel bad about that . I can’t walk talk and chew gum at the same time anymore. Chuck
  18. Not saying all but most comparison is between the Equinox and whatever they want to show off. I’ve seen this video between the Equinox and the New Anfibio before. The funny thing is he put the Anfibio in deep mode to do the testing . Is someone telling me I got to put the Anfibio in this mode to get the most depth. My thinking is when I turn a detector on and set the sensitivity as high as I can get it to run that’s as deep it’s going. I guess with it I hunt this field with the regular settings then go back and hunt it in the deep mode. I say Bull Sh-t ! Have you notice that most never say what the ID is showing. I’d like to see and I’m sure some are out there testing against their own detectors. I guess over in the U.K. maybe you want to hear a fair to good tone at fifteen inches. Just maybe the ID is not important to you but to me it is . Give me a detector that shows a good ID at 6 to 10” and that’s all I’ll ask for . If beyond that it don’t give me a ID then it’s up to me to dig are not. I did like the tone when it detected something . On hearing some others it was like scratching on a black board . So many times the person doing the testing never had a Equinox in their hands before. I could take and nail a coffee can lid on to a broom handle to make the other something less if the need be . Chuck PS Why don’t you just let your detector stand on it’s own.
  19. The contest is over for the rock book. I will post the winner by opening a new post. Thank You Chuck
  20. Mike I have to agree with you that White’s has some great platforms to work off of but will they do it. That’s the big question. Chuck
  21. Mike Everyone you said is inside other than the Nox a sardine can and got the weight to go with it. Who said the Equinox can run only in two frequency ? It is what you call a true Mult Frequency detector. Like history it’s in the pass and some not all detectors are too . Chuck
  22. It is so many single frequency detectors out there and yes some do have more you can access. It really don’t make any difference it’s still one frequency at a time. What I can’t understand is more are being made and if not on the market already like we’ve seen this year . It will be another nugget and coin detector should be out by the end of November. Oh it’s telling how many frequency you can hunt in but still one at a time. I know I sound like a broken record saying one at a time but that’s the truth of the matter. When Minelab came out with the Equinox they raised the bar at a higher level that others have yet to reach . This is what all of the other detector companies have to strive for . If they can just equal the Equinox will keep them in the running. I don’t see Minelab just sitting back without looking at the Equinox saying how can we make it better. I myself is swinging a single frequency detector and I do like it . I’m not saying they don’t have a place in the detector market but over time will be less and less . I’ve owned a Equinox 800 and I loved it but had it with the wait on a small coil so I sold it. If some others don’t come out with something to equal it in early 2019 I’ll get me another Nox . Chuck
  23. Steve I’m incline to agree with you on our cup run over with single frequency nugget and coin detectors . I really don’t know why they bother coming out with something that so many others have already done .Right now the weight of their detector is the best thing going for them . I can’t say I won’t buy one but if I do it’s because I like trying something new . It won’t be because I need it. If the XP Deus and another had came out with a small coil right away I’d still had both . Just think it will be lots to look forward to in 2019 . ( I hope ) Chuck
  24. The Deus ORX came out in a blaze of glory but then went dead in the water. One video is a show and tell but the others are all tell .I guess give it time and we’ll learn more. Chuck
