  1. Lunk, So when using your setup, you don't use the GPZ WM-12 module and your volume control is on the GPZ? I just happen to have a new Avantree Torus (unopened)....another thing that needs to be charged! Bill
  2. I'm looking for some advice and strategies to improve hearing those faint gold whispers in the field, missed by many nugget hunters, by using quality 150 - 300 ohm headphones vs Bose QC 20 Noise Cancelling and Etymotics earbuds. I found some limited info on this forum by searching and with improvements in technology was looking for some updated suggestions: I have mild Reverse Slope Hearing Loss in both ears and tinnitus in one ear, that starts at 1000 HZ, drops down in those lower bass frequencies and have trouble hearing whispers. I wear hearing aids that help alot for normal conversation, but don't want to wear them while detecting. I like my Sunray Gold Pro headphones alot and also have the Steelphase SP01 signal booster. I want to be prepared for an upcoming trip to Quartzsite, AZ. JP, Condor and others have recommended using earbuds, what are your thoughts & tips on how to brighten those very faint gold signals. Thanks, Bill
  3. Lunk, guess my source got you confused with Beatup!😂 Must take alot of biceps to swing that GPZ 19" coil. I found some of JPs post on FB regarding the 17" x 13" Z Search coil: "Well I'm officially impressed. NF Zsearch 17x13" over an old well worked nugget patch. Not super deep but there's a huge amount of hot rocks here, coil is so quiet and stable, signal was clean and unmissable. better depth than the GPZ 14, and also seems to have better sensitivity too." Comparing Z Search coil to GPZ14- "Tests I did in Clermont clearly showed an advantage along with quieter running (wet salt ground aside, bigger coils will always create more salt signal)." "Some of the gold I've found while testing the new NF Zsearch 17x13". Big specimen was found by someone else at 2 plus feet, speci weighs in at 100 grams with approx 60 to 70 grams of gold enclosed. Sensitivity is nearly as good as the Zsearch 12", with better depth than the GPZ14 for the same weight."
  4. Beatup, Thanks for posting this as I just asked about the NF 17" x 13" Z Search coil reviews and results from the field. What are your thoughts on ground coverage, EMI, can you max out the Sensitivity setting, how quiet it runs, etc. compared to the ML 14" DOD coil? Thanks, Bill
  5. I just ordered one of these new NF coils from Rob for my GPZ 7000 and can't find any US nugget hunter reviews or results from the field. The 17" x 13" coil weighs the same as the GPZ 14" DOD coil, so it should be very effective when used with a bungee. I know they have just arrived in the US and JP mentioned on FB he has used them with good results...been very quiet. I heard Lunk is using one in AZ now.🤔 Anybody got any info??? Bill
  6. Jason, I follow & read all your DP posts, learning alot each time. I would love to read your anecdotal field experiences on the 6000. Bill
  7. I can't believe the GPZ 7000, which was $10K when first rolled out, is now selling for $6,375! Did Garrett and other MD Mfgs make a huge impact on sales, models being discontinued, or trying to capture more market share??? Bill
  8. I just compared the coil ears on the NF Evo and the Axiom shaft for fitting, the shaft is too wide?🤔 Bill
  9. Found this on the Manticore FB page from Marc Sciance, apparently not everyone is having problems with the Manticore in iron areas: "Dale and I took our Manticores out on their maiden voyage today to a pounded and trashy Civil War camp and let me say Minelab has really hit it out of the park with the Manticore! OMG what a machine! Simple to use. Unbelievable separation and speed. And it won't let you dig nails! I am speechless! Here are our finds from today."
  10. Scoop, Yes they are blowing this out of proportion. This YT video was released 11 days ago. Doesn't look that hard to me after reading the manual!😂
  11. Thanks Gerry for that impressive write up, glad I'm on the "Manticore list". Merry Christmas, Bill
  12. Barry, An update from CO...my claims are now considered ACTIVE and OK, but names and addresses are still XXXX...looks like this is for privacy reasons:
  13. Since the Axiom uses a 4-pin coil connector and the GPX 5000 coils used a 5-pin connector (pin 5 was not used), is there a possibility that GPX 5000 coils can be used by changing to a 4-pin connector? Some of us still have GPX coils in our closets.😁 Bill
  14. I just called the CO. BLM office and they said it may take another week before the BLM site is updated and corrected. They have received hundreds of calls this week regarding CLOSED claims! Bill
  15. Clay, I just checked one of my CO. claims and it's been CLOSED. I sent the claim paperwork on 7/26 called BLM in Sept and they said they didn't have the personnel to handle filings. I received my stamped/approved filings dated 5 Nov and my claims were marked Abandoned/Forfeited on 17 Nov. Will the CO. BLM office fix their late processing and correct this? Bill
  16. Steve or Gerry, Some of us "want to be different and look for bigger nuggets" Any rumors about release dates for the 13" x 11" Mono coil? Happy Thanksgiving, Bill
  17. Thanks to Gerry, Steve and all the field testers that worked long, long, hard hours to bring us this "game changer" USA made PI gold detector. It takes so much R&D, QC, testing, legal, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, etc. "investment $$$$$$" to bring a high performance product to today's consumer market. Great TEAM EFFORT. I'm so impressed with everything Garrett has accomplished in the Axiom. Should get the call next week! Happy Thanksgiving everyone, Bill
  18. Hopefully I'll get a call from Gerry today, Santa can come early this year!😂 Bill
  19. I finally got around to testing my GPX 6000 today and have the same external speaker issue as noted in this long thread. Last year I only used the BT headphones and didn't have any problems at Rye Patch. I have submitted the repair form and received a Ticket Number. Thanks Jason for the link!😀 Bill
  20. Great job Gerry & Spencer on field testing the Axiom, getting software updated for all of us and a nice gold specimen reward! Can't wait for mine to arrive, Bill
  21. Jason, I'm sure you've read some of this, but thought I would share some of Dan Hausel's work: https://gemwy.blogspot.com/2011/08/wyoming-is-number-one-gemstone-state-in.html Bill
  22. Jason, Recommend you call Mark Keene, they sell commercial Diamond and Gemstone dredges for overseas ops and have probably studied the subject thoroughly. I'm sure they have looked at dry projects also. He likes to share his extensive, expert knowledge!😀 Bill
  23. I've never been able to distinguish a soft signal from a .01 gram nugget from a deep signal. How does a deep signal sound? Bill
  24. Gerry is the best dealer in the USA. I've bought several detectors and taken 4 classes from him...each time I've learned alot and found gold each time. No way I would have done as well without his training class. Bill
