  1. I still dream from Minelab a P.I. with an 8" "goldscan style" round mono coil (interchangeable), 200ft submersible rated, negative buoyant and less bulky machine in this shell.... This will be the only way to fight the impulse AQ at least on design. I'm actually afraid to dive with a 1m depth rated /almost 2.000bucks/drown fragile thing...
  2. Reading a little better some posts...My attention was captured by two little words... My funny question is: how many guys You know who usually or extremely frequently say "Love it"???🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Have a nice Sunday 😊 All of You!
  3. Honestly, if I'd be You, I'd prefer to invest in a used Gpx5000 or simply try to use the gold field mode on the Nox...I simply don't see a point buying a gold monster if You seriously want to hunt for nuggets...(don't get me wrong, I just want to be clear about the value of purchase)...
  4. With marketing started, I can easily say that we can hope for a launch before the summer. Otherwise, will be a terrible mistake to prolongue times beyond June's end.
  5. From my point of view, I actually prefer to have a sort of "Iron audio" setting.Without any kind of filter like FE or FE2, during the test of the Nox800 I was good in the water with a 5 tones profile, a lower tone pitch of 4/5 and volume from -9 to 0, an higher pitch of 14 with max volume 25 from 1 to 20 and again lower pitches like 6 or 7 for the third, the fourth and the fifth signal area... In this way I was able to always hear (in all metal) when, how much and where the iron was... However I don't found the Nox to be a reliable machine to trust on numbers and conductivity... So pay attention for big gold rings sometimes under unusual higher readings...On the CTX the story is a bit different..I don't trust the second conductivity number, but the first iron composition! I actually changed the audio profile to use it with two iron based tones, cause You'll never know how big is the stuff, but to cut a little is just better to understand how much iron is under the coil before to dig....Hope this will be clear...Reading again myself is not so clear even for me🤣🤣🤣
  6. Bad moment for trenches and holes right now...I'm waiting the next week to check again after some wind movement...Crossed fingers🙂
  7. Woke up late😨. Found a decent place. Found competition at work already💀. Heard from local fisherman's report on last week competition's success right there🤐... Almost 5 hours, dug 5 holes found 5 items...And the sand is yet to come... Can You guess how much I love the summer season?🙄 End of the story for today...
  8. Yeah...They send You a bank cheque of 849 bucks to order one... Must be an error (I hope)🤣
  9. So the 40Khz on the Nox are just an option for micro bits? I'm also thinking to the Ctx pumping past marketing on the 1.5 to 100Khz range...🤔Clueless right? I'm not a nugget finder is clear🤣
  10. I like it. Pleasant to view, seems lightweight and not too expensive for a mono / multifrequency operational mode. Probably it needs a little more Khz but is not for nuggets though... Nothing relevant for me in my environment, but you know what? I'm still waiting from Minelab a 50m rated waterproof and reliable machine with a 99 points target ID scale...And an efficient relevation of it... Still too much targets are falling under same numbers to trust the screen before to dig or not... Almost acceptable on my Ctx but not on the Nox or Vanquish...(Just my 2 cents).....
  11. I'm probably not so far to the solution of our trouble... After a quick search I managed to find an old model of a Coiltek waterproof rated coil also produced in a DD version... Cause I dive with the TDI BH, I want a fully waterproof and most important not floating coil, I have found the 12"x8" Platypus mono to be the better choice talking about dimensions and type of shell : opened, elliptic and epoxy filled)... As for now, I only need to go over some questions in my mind: 1 Is the coil inductance really the same for the TDI SL and the GPX? (I think not)... 2 Will the swap operation really improve the noise/signal ratio in shallow saltwater, remaining on a 12" shell even if the 8"side is what is really relevant? (I'm only sure that a dual field is a different thing and a plain mono will do better...I hope)... 3 Will the coil with less windings than the 12" yellow dual field (not so correct affirmation i know), operate better than now with a lower pulse delay of 10mS? All million dollar questions for the real experts we all have here........ Please.........and thanks in advance to all who will help me to solve the problem...
  12. For the same reason I'm really thinking to adapt an 8"mono to my Beachunter. Actually I want to build it by myself if possible...I've seen that this GPX/TDI specs for coils are not so identical... Needs to know all details before to do a complete mess 😂
  13. Water hunting is a bit more easier cause of a different trash/value ratio. On the wetsand is another story, on the dry is a movie for patient mens. If you think to the factors involved to have results on the beach, is probably easier to find a nugget with some luck, even a small grain. I started to find gold when I quitted to search for gold... Since 2012, I hunt for conditions, from a desk with a PC... Before even to think to go downthere.
  14. Between the two, You're doing already better than me for sure🤣...To feel an old sensation and to hope for the next days, I'm posting a picture of one of the few memorable days in the last years...
  15. Lots of cheaper detectors due to the moment and unluckily a lot more crap terribly advertised even years before. I do the work for 💰 underwater and I feel a little neglected by Minelab. Prehistorical Excal 2: blind to fine gold chains (sold 2 of them),a trusty 8 years old Ctx, almost outdated and is not so good in depth (14x9 Australian signed coil)9 against even the Nox with 11" coil. The Nox however is far to be even slightly similar on the VDI stability (and type), so for this reason I decided to keep the CTX on, otherwise there's nothing new under the sun. The fuc....g Vanquish the world was waiting?I keep silence about it...
  16. Well, it happened... I was finally back to my war room in my mother's home, looking for stuff to move with me after lockdown end and I've seen again a pair of Grey Ghost Underwater abandoned over my old bed. I never asked too much talking about headphones, but the crap still remains crap even with other colours option. Overpayed the Ctx3030 8 years ago cause of this horrible low sounding things (at volume 30), and never used successfully till changed with yellow Koss (same substance in another color nuance, just slightly better audible)... Underwater the faintest sounds are too hard to hear and I don't like the volume gain maxed out losing perception of real signal's depth. I also changed pitch profiles from low to high Mhz on gold range, to allign in mind and memorize the same audio reaction of my TDI bH...Nothing, these headphones are probably maded for other brands but on Minelab stuff, you can use it as a replacement for noise insulation 3M Peltor just cutting the cable. I found this interesting post with some piezo specs... My question is...Can I try to think to modify by myself the stuff or a baseball bat shot will be better? I'm a crazy pirate, so laugh with me please😅
  17. Congratulations to you for the effort, cause people can enjoy the numbers and improve skills... Talking about "us"....All I can say is: 1 I don't trust Minelab Id scale numbers of today (both tested NOX 800 and Van540)... Slightly better the Nox, but if you sweep the coil a little faster the 540 is crap to understand wtf there's under... 2 looking for precious stuff, transformed me in another kind of hunter (the worst), so that I'm never so satisfied of the instrument and even of myself for multiple reasons... 3 in all honesty, I'm seeing the market failure talking about quality/price ratio. I hate to call myself a professional and I never forget that is only cause cause I probably don't have much other choice to earn real money in my life... 4 my real valuable experience today, is to know that I've done terrible mistakes and multiple times.... Message for the world ❤️ never trust too much the fu.k.ng numbers...
  18. Nothing so special here, just a common 18k wedding band, really usual in Europe. I'm satisfied to see again gold after over two months of Covid Lockdown😷. The amazing thing is from where I pulled it out. I've been totally shocked by the use of a compass today, cause I found too much times myself uncapable to keep straight lines underwater in murky or windy conditions. So today I was testing not only the use of the instrument, but also a new weight harness I maked to relax my poor back and what a relief! I'm now doing snorkeling without fins and a neutral buoyancy trim. The place was a terrible one, rocky, aluminum infested, uncovered bottom by months and deadly pounded by competition of other locals... Before the lockdown I cleaned up the last drops of gold remained, when they were saying me "is over..don't do it again" and laughing, leaving me alone there: (terrible mistake💀😉)... At a certain point I was next to leave, when I decided to follow another line on the compass to come back to the shore... Thicker Sand, freshly deposited, no referral things to take note of, but......Bang! When I heard the CTX to punch a solid 12.24 I was amazed and already sure about the shape of the thing...In the middle of nowhere.... The end of the story is...I've been fooled by myself dozen of times, never been really able to cover entirely hot points in patterns and potentially leaving lot of good stuff behind..I'm sure about it cause I frequently passed again like in a circle from same spots already checked... To hunt wading is another thing than snorkeling or scuba diving. I have proof now that a compass can make the difference when I need to cover bottom in the right way. I'm noticing this fact after "only" 15 years😭....Take note and apply.....Hard payed experience....
  19. How much I miss days like that! It reminds me some virgin like places back in 2015😭... Well Done!
  20. Actually I have the same doubt 🤔...Is a bit weird as I found on Amazon the coil straight from Detech factory and there is TDI mentioned...On their website (dedicated one for Italy)also appear wrong coil (same dd picture with different details), but also the bolt hole seem to be for Minelab and not for White's...What can I say....Need to contact the factory to better understand what they say about...
  21. Thanks a lot for your words about it! I'm oriented to an 8" coil, (Detech mono)especially cause I dive and always try looking on Rocky environment when the erosion appear. I learned in the past that a smaller coil can be pushed higher in sensitivity, so the perfect size will be 8"for me... Hopefully in the future i'll be able to reduce the higher delay of 14ms to 10ms and don't hear too much drift noise changing the coil.
  22. Jeez...I'm in love with this post! I'm looking for another coil on my TDIbH cause of saltwater (shallow) bad influence on the original one... It seem that only with higher delay the machine is able to divehunt silently or stably in threshold... I use however the ground bal only as a sound discriminator between high and low conductors, as the sand and the bottom in my coast are not so bad to require it. My question is...Can I still use the two sounds mode with a mono coil?... Actually I don't remember why, but there's a post somewhere wich talk about this thing...I think not🤔... Hardwiring outside from the control box a real good waterproof male/female connector will be the hell's second phase for me💀🤣
  23. No comment...Just an update I wanna share with all of You in this ship....
