  1. Yep, I got it. I believe your WS6 with V1.1 will work with the V1.0 remote, or at least I've heard something to that effect. Also, you can still roll back either remote to V0.71 and try the WS6 with V1.1 to see if it will work. It may, because in slave mode, the WS6 should just be sending and receiving audio, which should still be the same across all the software versions. I don't know if anyone else here has tried that, but it seems like it should work in theory.
  2. This is another teachable moment from the Gary. I won't give away the twist. Enjoy! 😎
  3. You can pair the WS6 to both D2s, but you might need to update the V0.71 remote to V1.1 for it to work correctly, assuming you updated your WS6 to V1.1 also. I don't know for sure if it would cause a problem or not because I haven't tried to pair the WS6 on two remotes with different software versions. I don't think it would hurt anything to try it.
  4. Personally, I can't see myself digging that deep either, but I can see others doing it for their specific types of hunting. There's a guy in my detecting club who routinely digs large holes up to neck deep to find old bottles. So to each, their own. 😎
  5. Thanks for the reminder... it is done.
  6. Okay, I updated @Brad Plohman's great D2 program spreadsheet for the V1.1 update. The Custom Slots (15-24) are blank to fill in with your own settings. Enjoy! 😎 DEUS II Factory Programs Settings Spreadsheet-V1.1.zip
  7. I agree with GB and F350. I have the 15", 11", and 6" coils but when I got 10x5" coil, I pretty much just left it on my Nox. I have used it on parks, fields, beaches, ghost towns, and in pretty much every scenario I can think of. It has laser-like precision in trash and iron and actually performs as well as the 6", IMO, on ghost towns with more depth and more coverage. The 11" has a tad more depth, but with the lighter weight and better separation of the 10x5", I don't use my 11" anymore. The 15" is deeper, but seems like twice as heavy so I only use that when I have to, but that is almost never. The 10x5" Coiltek is my goto for the Nox.
  8. I have noticed that on silver vs clad Roosevelt dimes and copper pennies ID 88-90 and are nicely separated from zinc pennies which ID from about 82-86 depending on the state of decomposition in my soil.
  9. Wow, nice haul, F350, well done! There's no way I would have lasted that long in that heat, way to go!
  10. Now that's what I call an add-on accessory, and it will even cut the grass! 😎 "Honey... we need a new lawnmower... no, it's not for metal detecting, why do you was that?" 🀣
  11. My father-in-Law was a guard at a POW camp in France and he had a lot of stories about his time there. Most of the time medals, badges, and insignia were collected and traded by US soldiers as momentos. Anything metal on a prisoner was considered a potential weapon and was removed. He said they didn't keep track of the removed items so the US and French soldiers would take anything interesting. None of that was returned as far as he knew. He also said they never had any problems from the prisoners at his POW camp, they were a defeated army and all just wanted to go home.
  12. Awesome finds, Doc, well done! Those all look like show stoppers to me, great hunt!
  13. I agree, if XP could meet @Steve Herschbach's challenge of a PI detector that weighs under 2 pounds and cost under $2000, that would be a another game changer for sure. But I still want to see what else is coming for the Deus 2 ecosystem first.
  14. I have to think the 10x5 elliptical FMF will be our Christmas present this year from XP. And as much as I thought I would never need a 2-box unit, I have to say I'm intrigued. I really want to know how that all works, and with that and the forthcoming small FMF coil, no target could ever hide from the D2! 😏
  15. Congrats on the awesome finds! That box plate is a treasure for sure, well done!
  16. Awesome finds, Mongo! The Nazi wound badge would be a very rare find at a POW camp site because it had a large pin on the back. Most of the prisoners' medals and badges were confiscated so they couldn't use them as weapons. Many of them were hidden by the prisoners and later traded to guards for things like cigarettes and food.
  17. Sweet coin finds, NCt, you get a Hell Yeah, from me! 😎
  18. It was on a quick video clip that the Gary posted in the Metal Detecting Skill School group on Facebook. I think he stated he was in Italy and a fellow came up to him to show him what he had made, so it may not be availble for purchase.
  19. That's a clever design. Although I never use the speaker, I would think many folks will find this a useful add-on for a WS rig. Thanks for sharing. 😎
  20. It does look cool, but not being a real water hunter, I can't say if it would help or hinder. With the increased surface area, I would think it might create more drag in the water, specially with the centering thingy on it. As Brad said, the 9" coil probably doesn't need any help in the water, but also as F350 said, maybe the big coils do. It's definitely looks well engineered with some tight tolerances, so whoever made that is good at 3D CAD and printing, and it's innovative and not a copy job like so many other 3D printed thingies on the web.
  21. What do you water hunters think of this? Gary posted a short video on the Metal Detecting Skill School group on Facebook showing a coil cover mod made by a D2 user for swinging in the water. I couldn't get the link to work outside of FB, so here's a screen shot. Would you water hunters use something like this?
  22. The mystery item is sort of pendant shaped. It rang up as 67-68. It's got some weight but I haven't figured out how or even if I want to try to clean it up a bit. Of course it could just be a lead or brass tag of some kind.
  23. Yes, Chrome and your Chromebook should work. XP set up their own server to do the V1.0 & V1.1 updates, so you'll have to go to the XP website. This link will show you everything you need to know about the new features and how to up date. Note: you will need to create a new log-in ID on their site and then do the update. https://www.xpmetaldetectors.com/en/ba/the-blog/deus-ii-v1-0-update-instructions.php
