  1. Hey Okie, I've been rained in since my one outing with V1.0, but I think there are some changes to PWM, but I haven't been able to check that out yet. I did notice the Iron Volume change too. 7 is now the default level for Iron volume which now goes up to 10. If you're running a V0.71 based program with Iron Volume at the old default of 3, you'll barely be able to hear it.
  2. Thanks for your report, Logde Scent! That's very interesting about using Disc at -6.4 reduces falsing. Maybe try turning FE TID on to see what numbers iron is ringing up as. It could be that running Disc in the middle of the iron range forces higher iron numbers to sound off as falses. I was thinking that higher Disc would force iron numbers to sound off as iron, but what if it's the opposite! Unfortunately I'm in the middle of monsoon season and can't get out to test this yet, but you may have just discovered the Holy Grail in dealing with iron! 😉
  3. That's not necessarily true. If that were actually the case, they would only need to have one preset program and let users do the rest. However, each program group (General, Park, Sensitive, Relic, Beach, etc.) can and probably does have different weightings for the low and , if used, mid frequencies for specific ground compensations and other properties. We can only adjust the upper frequency limit of each program at this time, which is adds more flexibility to the stock programs and I certainly like that. Now, if they give us an update down the line allowing users to adjust the other frequencies used in each program, then the possibilities are endless! However, with much power comes much responsibilty, because most users would probably not take the time to learn what they need to know to properly adjust lower and mid frequencies without screwing up their machines. That is probably why most detector manufacturers are reluctant to give users too much control. 😏
  4. Hang in there, man, something good is coming your way. 🙂
  5. Thanks Colonel! I look forward to your tests, specially since I hope to make it out to Florida's Right Coast before the year is out. 😏
  6. I know, right? And I even wear my headphones, so what could possibly be wrong with that? 😄
  7. Nice going, Mick93! It looks like you found some old oil lamp parts as well, well done!
  8. We're in our monsoon season now so I moved all the furniture around in the family room and made an indoor test garden. That is not winning me any points with the wife! 🙄
  9. I also didn't notice a big change with Square audio in Full Tones, but try the High Square in Full tones. I really like High Sqr in Pitch and Full tones. It Pitch & Full sound very snappy and similar except Full Tones allows you to hear conductivity & size. I haven't noticed a big difference in depth between Pitch and Full Tones yet but I haven't made it out to a relic site yet. I've got a lot more experimenting to do, but I think High Sqr is going to be my new goto audio. I don't use the Audio Filter. It rounds off the spikes too much for my taste. I think it was made to take some of the bitey edge off of PWM, but I like the snappy sounds of Pitch & Full tones with High Sqr, and also PWM, so I don't need it rounded off. I'm using the default 5 setting on the Offset in Full Tones and it seems to be just right, so I haven't experimented with that yet. That's my limited view so far. 😉
  10. I'm all out of likes today, Calmark, so thanks for pointing out the power consumption issue with using the lower 14 KHz Max Frequency. I didn't even think about that and will have to keep an eye on that like I do with Deep HC. Cheers! 😎
  11. Excellent food for thought, Chase! I feel like there are other differences in some of the programs, such as which lower frequencies may be in use for each. I think the Sensi/Fast programs are probably the same base frequency weightings but I could be wrong. Regardless, I can see the potential in your concept and realize the advantages to that line of thinking when creating programs for different scenarios. More tools for the kit and more experimenting to be done. 😎
  12. I just tested my equalizer and it's working fine.
  13. Glad you got it fixed. The XP tri-head cable is for charging only, there are no data cables in those USB connectors. You have to use the single USB cable that XP provided or any other normal USB cable to update the WS6, WSA-II, and WSA-IIXL.
  14. Thanks, Rattlehead! BTW, your Silver Slayer program really likes the 14 KHz Max setting! 😉 Yes, I noticed the change to the TID spread. It seems like they spread out the whole range out a bit which I like. Also I think that each Frequency Max and Audio Filter settings may affect that as well. I haven't tried the Audio Filter yet, but I love being able to change the Max Feq for each program. That High Square tones has made me love Pitch tones again. Sweet sounds with nuances too! Also I noticed that they fixed the pinpoint function so it doesn't blast your ears out. And I didn't check what my MI-6 settings were after I re-paired it to the updated remote, but it seems a little deeper to me and sounds good with the High Sqr audio setting. There is still so much to test out, but the fact that I could turn on the new updated D2, load up a custom program, and make good finds at a new site has me just thrilled!
  15. Thanks F350! You should play around with the Max Frequency settings in each program. I didn't get to do much of that, but I think running SS in 14 KHz Max seemed to make a difference in the iron falsing. I can't wait to try that out on a relic site! 😉
  16. I got all my D2 gear updated yesterday and it went very smoothly. I was anxious to try it so I got out for a couple of hours today. Originally I was going to try and test everything I could, but I didn't have that kind of time, so I just loaded up the Silver Slayer program and made a few adjustments for the V1.0 software and hit a yard and curb strip in front of an old house permission. I ran the Discrim at 6.8, Notch at 7-40, Iron Volume at 7, Silencer at 2, B-Caps at 0, Sensitivity 95, and Reactivity at 1.5. I also set the Max Frequency at 14 KHz and ran the new High Square audio. Man I really like that sound! I literally took three steps into the yard filled with modern trash and and nails and hit a loud 88 and dug out what I thought was a smashed gold ring or pendant. It turned out to be a gold plated 925 silver & Topaz ring that weighed 7.16 grams, but I was more than happy with that! What a good start with the new update I thought. There was a lot of iron in the ground and with the Pitch tones of the SS program, I was getting the typical high falsing on the nails, so I bumped the Silencer and B-Caps to 3 and man, what a difference! I still got some falsing on bigger iron but it was easy to tell with a 90 degree rotation on the target. I dug a bit of iron at first to verify and much of the iron in my trash photo was just stuff that was in the hole when I dug the good targets. When I moved out to the curb strip which was loaded with pull tabs, ring pulls, and bottle caps, I hit a very convincing sounding 51-52 and out popped a junk ring, but it was ring #2! A few feet from there, I got a great sounding 96 which I thought was going to be a quarter, but it was an 8 gram 925 silver ring with 6 large stones and a bunch of smaller stones, ring #3! Finally it came time to leave and on the way back to the car I snagged one last small silver ring that had a broken shank that still rang up a solid 82, ring #4! I was speechless! Needless to say, I'm sold on the new update and can't wait to explore more of the new features and settings. XP, it was well worth the wait and you knocked it out of the park! Well done! 😎
  17. Here's the 0.71 version: DEUS II FACTORY and USER PROGRAMS-V0.71-Logsheet.zip
  18. Iron Volume now goes 0 to 10 and Silencer now goes 0-7 in V1.0. I edited the file to fix that. Thanks for pointing that out. 😉
  19. I took a minute to update @Brad Plohman's awesome D2 Program log to make it V1.0 friendly. The new features are added and you might want to punch in your custom user programs before you update. It will make life a little easier. 😏 Enjoy! DEUS II FACTORY and USER PROGRAMS-V1.0.xlsx.zip
  20. Yep I sure did! I've already got my core custom programs reloaded as well. I get to check it out tomorrow! 😎
  21. OMG, this is going to be even better than I could have hoped for! 😱
  22. XP Deus and Deus II coils are not simple "dumb coils" which only contain send and receive coil wires and copy protection chip, the signal processing is done in the coil so there is also a substantial processor in the coil as well as a wireless transmitter and battery. That's why they can make such tiny remote control like the WS6 earhpone module to control the processed information from the coils. The detecting power is in the coils, the audio processing and programing functions are done in the remotes.
  23. Congrats on the silver, NCt! That button and buckle look about WWI-WWII era to me.
