  1. Congratulations. It is in pretty nice condition too.
  2. I hope you will give detecting a fair try. It is a very enjoyable pastime. Welcome from East Texas.
  3. Did you ever do some comparison testing? What are your thoughts?
  4. The Vista X is an excellent detector in trashy mixed use sites if you can slow down & listen. The two separate Disc circuits allow you to have a primary break point between Ferrous/Non Ferrous & a second break point between Non Ferrous trash & desired targets. This actually gives you 3 tones; Ferrous low, Breakpoint flip flop & Desired target high tone, with a lot of audio nuance overlaying it all. You can also set it up to break/flip flop on a desired target(Nickels/Bullets). It is a very fast detector and all of the coils give good separation. It locks onto targets very quickly. The 16 kHz frequency is not the best for working Aluminum trash but it performs in spite of this. I wish Deeptech offered a 7-9 kHz version. Joe at the repair center is a really nice guy & does know detectors.
  5. Hunting a Camp ground is certainly similar to hunting a Park I would think.
  6. I would say the Legend is superior to the Impact/Anfibio series on a Beach/Saltwater environment due to it's SMF capabilities no matter the coil size. The KR40 coil on my Anfibio has no advantage over the AF35 that I have been able to discover. The extra weight of the KR40 is out of proportion due to it's older design compared to the 35mm coils.
  7. I do not have the Impact, but do have a lot of time on the Anfibio Multi. The Anfibio is an excellent all around detector and has slightly more raw power/depth than the Legend. The Concentric coil choices are useful also. From a practical standpoint the Legend offers much better stability on difficult ground, in Iron trash or in EMI. This allows you to be able to run near maximum if you want/need to. It is very rare to be able to run the Anfibio above 90 except in 3DI. The Legend has much better TID along with excellent audio intelligence. The Anfibio is primarily an audio machine unless the targets are clean. The Legend's added adjustability is also very useful. As far as big coils. the 35mm coils for each are excellent. The Anfibio's KR40 is too heavy to be practical for me and not really any deeper/sensitive than the AF35. I have no intentions of retiring my Anfibio, but I have 2 Legends & they get used a lot more.

    Hey

    Welcome from East Texas.
  9. I have a few sites where the iron is in small bits & pieces and very deteriorated. That is going to false with every machine I have, some more than others, some less no matter the settings. I just have to be patient & slow to work thru it. Sites with bigger iron or not so deteriorated are much easier to work.
  10. Funny how we seek things that hold up physically better than we do ourselves.
  11. Are you getting a consistent false with repeated passes or just on the initial hit?
  12. Very fine assortment. The Silver pipe band has a Hallmark that should be real and will give the maker and date.
  13. Welcome from East Texas. There may be a Club near you. That would be a good place to start out on the right foot.
