  1. What Steve Said goes for me also the machine was a dream for it's ergonomics and construction over all but without the large mono coil i would have to have a wait and see attitude as of right now, also the connectors are all 12 pin with large and small pins within so it looks like no using other coils right now . the rep said she would be in phoenix then utah then vegas then back to quartzsite for the gold show in february.
  2. Thanks Guys It took about 45 minutes to make that point, muriatic acid to clean the gold.
  3. Just some eye candy to ponder on the nugget was found by my brother in December with the GPZ 7000 (7 grams +) and i made the Elko style point the same month.
  4. I was just over there thursday and never heard anything about a showing of the 6000 would have liked to see the thing
  5. We always wondered where the name Kofa came from and now we know i sure do hope Steve can find a good home for that tin and its' contents.
  6. My brother found this old tin in the early 2000s in the tin was a notice for the discovery of a load claim the king of Arizona dated either 1903 or 1905 the writing is in pencil so has faded away. Steve if this is not the proper thread please move it to the correct one, thanks.
  7. here it is all brewed up smells like real dirty dish water and burnt coffee and no way would i drink it.
  8. when i first dug it up i thought gold nuggets were inside but then i realized no weight in it.
  9. four of us were out yesterday detecting and we found some small bits of gold but i found this tin in a wash out at an old mine site and we were perplexed as to what the stuff in it was , well steve broke one of the chunks in half and the smell of coffee was quite strong so we think the old timer who this belonged to boiled his coffee down and then let these chunks dry into what would be dried coffee just add hot water.
  10. truly a once in a lifetime find a beautiful ribbon of gold <congrats to the finder
  11. well done Rob sniffing out those nuggets and i to wish you had a few coils for sale
  12. well done some good detecting on your part
  13. Condor took my brother and I out for a hunt in what was a new area for us two to detect and let me tell you it was some of the toughest walking I have done in quite awhile , it did put the hurt on myself and Steve my brother not so much but he is part mountain goat anyway. The good part was everyone found some gold Steve got one, i got one and my brother a couple pieces the gold seems to be very spotty in this area and very thin with a quartz matrix also stained with what seems to be manganese . Here are the pieces my brother and I found. All gold was found using GPZ 7000s.
  14. don't think we did not have an eye out for a big ole sun baker
  15. in this area digging and detecting are not allowed anymore but you can collect rock specimens from the surface as long as you are not doing it for financial gain .
  16. We took a day off from detecting and went out rockhounding for a day and came across these old workings , the old timers dug some deep cuts across the toes off some of the hills that ran down into the wash and found a couple small drift holes. the holes are about 10 foot deep with a couple small drift holes in each and the longest cut was around 50 to 60 yards long. there were dry washing holes that were just as deep and some were over 12 foot wide, some serious digging going on out there .
  17. you are right just about 1300 miles south
