fredmason
thanks, guys; the suppository/toenail is a crystal. I usually find clear quartz crystals, this is a first with color. Maybe smokey Quartz??? I think the black bits are super-concentrated iron stone or micro-meteorites...not sure, but they sound like a little nuggie and stay in the classifier like nuggies.. The burros are wild and fairly common...there was a herd of 8 males hanging around-these two were very bold. The heat was near 90 and getting too hot for this old guy. I stayed where the breeze was blowing, down in the gullies is way hotter. I won't be back until winter... fred

fredmason
No, Swifty; there is plenty of iron stone but the basalt and some other hot-rocks that ring like gold are the ones that really drive you nuts... fred

augustwest
It's hard to tell from a picture but most yellowish to orange Quartz is called citrine. Nice finds!
