I'm Happy The Way The Legend Is At 1.09

Recommended Posts

I don't know if I want to do the next update. With next update, if it changes the Legend from what I like, can I go back to 1.09?

Most likely it will not affect the way the detector is working, only adds to it.

I had a White's MX Sport that was working great. White's had an update and I had to send it in to make some changes. When I got it back it didn't work like it did before and they couldn't make it the way it was. So that makes me leery to do an update when it's working well.

If you have the V1.09 saved on your computer, you should be able to reinstall it if needed/wanted.

I have confidence in Nokta adding to an already brilliant machine.

But we don't know what the new update will contain. Will it even contain a new M3, or a new M4? Will it contain a new SMF at all? I sure hope so, because MW is a significantly better coin shooter in nonferrous trash than M1, M2, or M3 is.

I agree with JCR though. The Legend is an outstanding detector, especially considering its cost. And it keeps getting better and better with the updates.

If you like Beach MW in non Ferrous trash you should try Park in 4kHz. Badly masked coins will hit around 35 & up.

Rick, the next update is a Beta update. No one needs to do the update at all. You can wait until it is declared by Nokta to be an official update or instead it is scrapped.

I too really like 1.09.

I don’t detect in dirt that allows for Beach MW or any of the single frequency choices to perform any better than SMF choices already provided in 1.09 on in the ground, actual targets. I do see a very slight difference in air testing.

I will do the update but that is because I already have some of the pre release test software on my Legend.

For sure JCR.

In context, MW isn't quite as good as 4 khz. I often can't decide whether or not to use MW or 4khz. It usually comes down to how bad the EMI is.

When I tested the new SMF mode, it worked as well as MW, but I felt it could be weighted even more toward 4khz. I did mention that to Nokta, so I guess we'll see what happens.

SMF has 3d separation in iron. Single frequency is 2d separation. Single frequency is generally better if you have emi problem. In most cases use SMF that it designed to use. SMF also best in mineral ground.

Hello all! You can always go back on the software.

ONCE YOU TEST THE LEGEND 1.10 BETA VERSION, IF YOU COME ACROSS ANY BUGS OR FAULTS, PLEASE REPORT THEM BY SENDING AN EMAIL TO LGV10@noktadetectors.com BY JANUARY 23, 2023.
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY EVALUATE BUG OR FAULT REPORTS AND NO "WISH LISTS" AT THIS POINT SO WE CAN RELEASE THE FINAL VERSION SOONER THAN LATER.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.

V.1.10 BETA TEST VERSION

Updates Made:

1.       M3 multi frequency in PARK mode has been updated to prevent coins from being masked by aluminum foil.

2.       Bottle Cap Rejection setting has been added.

When the device is in multi frequency, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters ‘’bC’’ appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the bC value between 1-8 using the + and – buttons. When the bC is 0, it means that it is off.

3.       Ground Suppressor setting has been added.

It is used to eliminate false ground signals in tough terrains. To access the setting, select the Recovery Speed setting and press the pinpoint button. When you navigate with the right and left buttons, you will see the letters ‘’GS’’ appear on the right side of the screen. You can adjust the GS value between 1-8 using the + and – buttons. When the GS is 0, it means that it is off. It is recommended that you leave this setting at off position unless needed.

4.       The audio emitted as the Tone Break points are changed while in 60-Tone, has been modified with increased bass.

5.       Audio Gain setting has been activated in the Gold Field Mode.

6.       Warning tones have been added to the buttons.

The buttons will now emit a warning tone in the following cases:

a)       To indicate the minimum and maximum levels of settings.

b)       When an inactive setting in a specific mode trying to be activated.

7)       The brightness of the Backlight Level 1 has been reduced.

😎       Bluetooth Chip Version will now be displayed.

When the Bluetooth headphones are paired with the device and the Bluetooth setting is selected, press and hold the Discrimination button. The Bluetooth chip version will be displayed in the clock section. When the button is released, the clock will be displayed again.

9)       While in Automatic Ground Balance, the auto backlight will now be lit until the ground balancing is completed.

10)   The loudness of the Volume Level 1 has been reduced in PARK, FIELD and BEACH modes.

11)   A new level 9 has been added to the Iron Filter (IF) setting.

There has been no change to the levels 1-8. Level 9 will become handy when trying to discriminate some unwanted mid-conductors such as shotgun cartridges as iron.
