123_1(6).thumb.jpeg.f991b09ad7b36e0b7ca1dfd50bd975cd.jpegWent relic hunting with a friend this last weekend in the Western states and he found a button we can't identify. At first we thought it was a North Carolina military button, but now that it's cleaned up I don't think so. Maybe one of you Eastern states guys can ID it. Thanks.Resized_20230917_1032132_117282351312394.thumb.jpeg.52c26875c413e541a29aee74168191bd.jpegResized_20230917_192456.thumb.jpeg.fdde741b0688309c7867fcf009df41d2.jpeg

possibly some variation derived from the Pennsylvania state seal.  Figuring out what NC is may be the key.

Now that I know it's the PA state seal, I was able to find the button online. It's a PA national guard button from the late 1870's thru the early 1890's Thanks for the help.

It certainly has the look of an Officer's button, not just regular issue.
