Felix
I just found out that my 700 doesn't come with a dedicated gold mode. Bummer should have got the 800 or 900. 😞
Jeff McClendon
Welcome to the forum! By dedicated gold mode are you referring to gold prospecting, especially for smaller sub gram nuggets or just gold in general? Luckily if you are referring to gold prospecting, the 700 has a two tone DP Pitch option that has VCO audio very similar to the 800/900s prospecting mode. You can setup Park 2 or Field 2 as very good gold prospecting modes using that Pitch tone option. You might want to lower the ferrous/non ferrous tone break well into the minus number range, hunt with the horseshoe button engaged to allow all target responses, set recovery speed for the amount of iron mineralization, keep the iron bias as low as possible, set the iron volume level to your liking and keep the sensitivity at a level that doesn't cause too much ground noise when gold prospecting. Tracking or ground grab ground balance is also site specific.

Welcome, Felix. Times a wastin'! If you have a yard or an open spot nearby, at least fire it up and listen to its sounds, even if you can't dig there. Notice how the signals develop and fade as you swing. Look at the strength meter (aka 'depth meter'). Engage the pinpoint mode. Etc.
