Jen58
I run my sdc2300 on 4 or 5 depends on the ground at the time, and 3rd light with 4th light flashing, using headphones. now it can be a tad noisy at times, but it makes the little speckle nuggys boom in.. at a very good depth for their size. but thats not how i ran it for the first 12months of owning my sdc2300. I ran it on 4 with the first red light, second flashing. as i got to know my little detector i ramped it up! Phoenix.. i stopped using the guitar amp. i hated the fact everyone could hear me. I love to be incognito in the bush Plus i love the cordless option's out there now. found the guitar amp to noisy with headphones. Guess it also depends on each individual's hearing We also have brought the minelab pro sonic, still in its box. Will try it out soon.

Hey Jen. Using the amp to control the threshold also means you are running a very low target volume. That`s why a couple of posts back Enio said he wished my settings were a bit louder. Even though the detector runs very quiet with these settings, Enio the other day still managed to get 14 for 0.8 grams. Plus with these settings I think you get better depth on the very faint ones cheers Dave
