  4. Yes, I have been seeing it also, disappointed latest fix did not work. As an experiment I am now temporarily disabling the “likes” system to see if it’s the cause of the issue. I've also disabled to automatic capitalization of thread titles. Trying to narrow down the issue. I'm sorry for the problems that seem to have been ongoing as of late.
  5. I have had the same issue for a while now.
  6. Today
  7. Went you say you "closed it" are you saying you logged off the forum and logged back in or just closed the page and re-opened it?
  8. I had ctx for i think 12 years. only sold my last one end of 2023. sorry to see it go, best target id detector i had. only reason i sold it was it getting heavy for me in water use and ongoing water ingress problems in interface handle / lcd. I did briefly try the coiltek coils but rid of them very quickly as I was not impressed.
  9. So I just cured it by closing the site and re-opening it. Now it's fast.
  10. Is anyone else having issues with the forum loading pages slowly? For the last couple of weeks I've noticed that an occasional page would take longer than normal to load, sometimes 30 seconds or more, sometimes less and sometimes normal, but last night and today every page is taking 30 to 45 seconds or more to load. I have a fairly new computer that blazing fast on all other forums and websites so that's why I'm posting to see what experience others are having.
  11. Yes and it would be the same for any other detector . A half sovereign is a small target ( 3.85g ) and bigger coils dont go deeper than smaller ones on small ( < 4g ) targets , I can confirm this from my own bed tests done with different brands/detectors on a 3g target ... A depth difference can only be seen on bigger targets , like on a 10g coin where a big coil ( like a 11 ) goes deeper than a smaller one . However dont expect more than a 2 or 3cms difference between a 9 and a 11 coil .
  12. have been given this lobo supertraq Iam after a large dd or concentric coil recommendation thanks
  13. have been given this mx5 thinking of getting an Detech 18 x 4" DD ARROW for it.. anyone use this combo thanks
  14. It all depends on what audio theme you are using more so than what search mode (Beach Deep) you are using. Check out the Manticore owners manual starting on page 40 for all the ways you can manipulate sound: Owners manual I use Prospecting Audio theme in Beach Low Conductors search mode at the beach.

  17. Over the years I've had several Minelab Beach Machines. Some of them I've had a struggle with the sounds they make. My first real beach machine was the Explorer SE Pro. I had to put that in Long Tones if I remember to my liking. I had to imitate that with the 3030. Then I got an 800 and I wanted longer sounds with it also. It never did give me an idea of the mass of the target. Now that I have the Manticore the Deep Beach is by far the best sounding. Can this 'sound' be set up for the other Beach profiles? My first real beach hunt was with the small coil just so I could learn some of the sounds and get an idea of the depth and play with recovery speed. I went back to the beach this morning with the 11" coil and played around more until I went back to Deep and found a couple of areas. One was a slow, slow gridding process where I think it heard things pretty deeply. There really wasn't any way to identify a corroded penny. Gone was the familiar 13 for a nickel and the 25 for a dime. Quarters come in around 90. All a strange new world of sights and sounds. I was surprised by the lead weight. It sounded 'small' rather than big and solid. I worked a tight grid pattern for over 2 hours at the end of the session before I had to take a break from some people asking me questions. It does hear pretty deep but I didn't find it 'easy' to pinpoint even with the pinpointer. It was good to just get back out to the beach again with some reasonable targets.
  18. I have just started using my Manticore on the local beaches and I think the 105's let in too much of the wave noise. I don't think my 800 headphones had this problem. I'm going to post a couple of pictures of finds.
  19. Well, I don't know what this creature will bring in the field but as a diver, it touches my interest in some way... Believe it or not, the thing I'm more focused it is the return to an M12 headphones connection...I'm sick of this epoxy drowned 3.5 jack in between of it... Underwater headphones can cost You per year like half of a new machine, damn🫢. So I do it by myself
  20. Well, there's quite a bit of Us that'd be more than happy to dig tungsten rings instead of bc, and rubbish of any kind...It just reminds You the good ground for better stuff later, like sinkers🏴‍☠️
  21. Hello! Have you checked out David Paulides channel called CANAM MISSING PROJECT? And Steve Isdahl? I think Steve's is called 'How to Hunt'. Steve is a Canadian hunting guide. Lots of good stuff.
  22. If you look at it from the Red Hair's perspective, they are probably the frightened ones. The were warned to stay away or face war. Maybe what they do is out of scared to death fear of Humans. After all, they know we are able to hunt anything successfully. I never looked at it this way. It may explain the tone of their screams. So, on further thinking about this I'm coming up with some ideas. A predator would not make sounds. It would surprise attack. An animal wanting to stay hidden would also stay silent and still. What do we do when an animal is in our space and we want to make it go away. Let's say the animal is dangerous. And, we're defenseless at the moment. We are taught to raise our arms and yell. Bang pots and pans and yell. Make a lot of dangerous sounds and appear as scary and big as possible!! But, never charge the animal, never challenge it. Then, scoot as fast as possible when there's an opportunity. It sounds like every Bigfoot encounter I've ever heard of.
  23. Sarah Winnemucca, was the first Native Piaute to write a book. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si-Te-Cah In this story, she describes how these large red haired creatures suddenly began to steal and eat babies from her tribe. They cornered the guilty one in a cave and buried the entrance with rocks then lit a fire to kill it. She said, they then made a treaty with them. The Red Hairs would stay far away in the mountains and never come back or they would fight them and do the same to them. This was before 1900. What would she gain by lying? Yeas later, 1982, in the museum in Carson City, they had a hand and skull of something much bigger than a man. It's no longer there. And, no one knows what you're talking about when you ask them where it went. I've never had an encounter with one or heard one. Except the skull and hand bones... Edit: Just read this: The remaining skull that still exists (many were discarded) was returned to to the Falcon band of the Paiute-Shoshone.
  24. Isn't it funny how everyone all of a sudden is throwing around hype? 3 companies now. I just hope that whatever Nokta is working on is something productive at an affordable price point. What I'm tired of the most is the hype in general today concerning new things. Wouldn't it be nice if instead of hype and innuendo for weeks, months, and sometimes years we actually got something in a reasonable amount of time and in sufficient quantities so we could just get on with it. Took my Legend out today and found more things my Equinox 800 had missed just a couple weeks ago. Unfortunately I also picked up something else today I didn't want- a tick. Joker had latched on. So now I have to worry about some horrible tickborne disease for the next 30 days or so manifesting. LOL For what it is worth, I've had active Lyme Disease in the past and still to this day suffer from the fallout. My memory was jostled today with this nice tick visitor and I remembered that is why I took a long break from metal detecting before.
