  2. Just put the 8” X coil on the zed for the first time yesterday. Joe and I took it and the 6 with the 10x5 attached out to our test patch a few hours ago. As Phrunt said earlier, the Zed runs quite well on max sensitivity with this coil (as does the Nuggetfinder 12”) The 6 also ran well with little emi experienced. Buried a few pieces of gold just to get some idea as to what to expect from the X coil. The six came out on top with a micro piece of gold (.045g) and picked it up a bit deeper and with a better signal than the zed. A .3 gram and a .5 gram nugget were also tested. We used the 6000 to test each piece as we continued to bury them deeper until any sign of a signal disappeared. The X coil was then run over the test bed and clearly gave “dig me” signals on both of the nuggets. We don’t take too much notice of this type of test but what we saw was encouraging. If the weather holds up we may do some detecting tomorrow and if we are lucky, a couple of live targets will be compared.
  3. Looks great. One day Nokta is going to be the undisputed market leader for sales of VLF metal detectors, I have no doubts in my mind.
  4. It might have been good to meet you. I didn't want a picture of the gold I saw because some things need to be shared by the owner only. I took a picture of some of Justin's finds as it was part of his shop.
  5. Today
  6. Just found this YouTube video on the Nokta FindX Pro. It looks pretty decent and comes with an excellent selection of accessories. I think its most definitely exceptional value for money!
  7. Ah geezze Reg , I was going to post up some truly tiny Manticore gold on this forum . You have made me all shy now 😁 Ghostminer , starting a new forum would be a lot of work , and catering to an ever smaller audience as most people seem to be gravitating towards FB etc .
  8. This is a good move by Garrett, plenty of detectors I've bought come with stuff I don't want or never will use like an awkwardly large DD coil, or some wireless headphones. I have a pile of headphones I'll never use that I paid for as part of packages. Cutting back to the bare essentials and lowering the price is great for people like me that don't want the extras. Good on Garrett for offering a great detector at an unbeatable price/performance ratio on the Axiom.
  9. After losing my gold bottle with something like 10 grams in it I quickly learnt not to use a brown pill bottle. JW helped me find it in the dark late that night with torches I then wrapped red electrical tape around that bottle to make it stand out more but you guys have far better options than I currently have. I have one of Docs little gold storage yellow rubber like folding containers which I haven't given a go yet, I should give it a try. I like the idea of bright yellow or orange, something not a natural colour in the gold fields to make it easier to find should I lose it. That wasn't the only time I'd lost my gold bottle, I also lost another clear one another time with a few little nuggets in it, had I resolved it that time I likely would have found my 10 grams far easier. Slow learner.
  10. Great advice. Thank you for taking the time and sharing your knowledge. I will be passing this on.
  11. I still believe we have a tester of the new Nokta gold PI detector are among us here on this forum. The PI relic detector tester he’s someone on the East Coast. Where is the best place in the USA to nugget hunt and that’s in the western states of the USA. Where will you find the largest number of nugget hunters and that’s on this forum. Time will let this cat out in the open maybe soon. Chuck
  12. According to what Nokta said their naming contest for their new two PI detectors will end the last day of April and it’s here. Being the naming contest time was short just maybe it will be equally short time the two PI detectors will hit the market. What we’ve seen before Nokta will under sell as they have in the past and I believe it will be the same with their gold and relic PI detectors. I’m expecting a call from Nokta tomorrow letting me know on the naming contest that Chuck you didn’t win .haha It would be great that someone on the forum here would win . Chuck

  16. 3 years ago i had a brand new reaper coil behind by seat in my truck,i stoped to give a guy a ride who had a motorcycle problem he got in slide the seat back crushed the ears right off.I ended up cutting the ears off flush to the coil then cut 2 90 degree pieces out of a heavy duty plastic electrical outlet box glued them down with Jb weld put the coil bolt through to let it dry in place .A day later it was dry and i've been beating it through the ocean ever since
  17. That website is wrong so I deleted the link, that bolt will not work on the Axiom. Maybe all other Garrett models but not Axiom. https://garrett.com/store/axiom-spare-bolt-and-washers/
  18. I just collapse the lower. 🤔 Hang the headphones on the grip.
  19. Yeap , it is still same version , no firmware update ,not big deal I just bought it and it came with 1.47 Garrett suppose to ship it with spare coil hardware set ,not sure if i buy this one here the thread will fit Deleted First impression , it 's working stable and I like it I do not think it needs better firmware , this one is already good but they might release newer one this year😊
  20. Hello All, I just received in one of the best looking Minelab GPX 5000's. Customer had it all covered up, no scratches. The unit comes with 2 coils, still have some warranty left on the 3 year. I'm asking $3000 OBO. Like I said, this unit is nice looking and for $3000 you can't beat having one of the most versatile detectors on the market. Also, remember just about every aftermarket accessory and coil is available to use on this GPX detector. Contact Rob at - 623-362-1459 LAN or 602-909-9008 cell or text Email - rob@robsdetectors.com Thanks for looking, Rob
  21. Hello All, I'm listing this for a friend that does not have access to the internet. He purchased a new GPZ 7000 about 2 years ago, but never was able to get it into the field. He put the unit together, but never was able to get it out of the house. If you have any interest, please contact Brian at 520-904-9025 (Southern Arizona area) to chat with him about it and pricing. I'm sure he's willing to make someone a deal, but remember he purchased it at $8000+. Thanks! Rob
  22. yea, if you've got the broken off piece you could just use some Weld on glue to stick some cut to size acrylic on both sides to toughen up the ears and just use a longer bolt/nut. I use this stuff by Weld-on, it chemically bonds the two plastics together so they become one, so not a glue as such more of a solvent cement. Weldon Acrylic Glue - Cambrian Plastics Weldon Acrylic Glue (SCIGRIP 16) is especially formulated to bond acrylic (poly-methyl methacrylate) plastics. It can also be used for bonding styrene, butyrate, PVC, ABS and polycarbonate, as well as other plastics and porous surfaces. SCIGRIP 16 is a very high strength, clear, medium bodied, fast curing, solvent-type acrylic cement. Applied to cast, molded or extruded acrylics, it will affect initial bonds very quickly so some parts may be handled within a few minutes. Bond strength continues to develop very rapidly reaching a substantial level and forming strong joints within hours. This product may be thinned with SCIGRIP 3 by approximately 10%. Initial bond forms very quickly so some parts may be handled within a few minutes of application. Joints are water and weather resistant and will generally have similar physical and chemical properties to acrylic plastic.
  23. After 5 months of trying to repair and replace parts, it looks like they are just sending me a new machine. I'm glad this will be over soon.
  24. It is literally in the first post of this thread that 1.47 is the current firmware version for the Axiom.
  25. I would like it if they made the blasted individual tails of the charging cable longer. It is difficult to hook all three items without having to either tilt the coil up or remove the RC from the base.. PIA
  26. I have made it a habit to always carry the charging cable and a good sized rechargeable battery pack in the truck when at the beach. Also have usb connections in the truck. If/when I take a break/lunch I put the whole thing on charge... Even 20-30 minutes adds a couple hours hunt time..
