  1. I just can’t see Fisher launching any other pulse units…….I feel it’s the end of the road for that line of detectors 🥺 Would I like to see myself wrong…….most definitely.
  2. Absolutely nothing wrong with a manual ground balance 👍 If the ground is highly variable then a bit more tweaking is needed but quite often you will have a better tuned machine over an Auto GB I may be biased as a I drive a manual 4WD with manual windows and manual locking hubs 😳
  3. Hello Paul, Best of success in WA (I think you like our gold😎) I’ll be out most of September with a couple of your fellow hunters from the USA. At this stage, in the Leinster area. Might bump into you at some point in time.. 👍 Tony
  4. So true…… the next time I see an ironstone outcrop (here in WA) that has been struck by lightning, I’ll be sure to take a photo. It can look like a small solidified lava flow 😳
  5. Hello Clive, Loving the Sea Hunter (XL500)……mind you, Eric did a lot of work on it. As you know, the Ikelite cases are bulky but I mount mine like a backpack and forget that it’s even there 👍 Eric made it a Motion detector, upped the pulse rate and increased the pulse width to help capture the bigger pieces of gold. Min delay is 20uS which for me in moving saltwater is the Goldilocks setting. It’s quite a beast and I wouldn’t swap it for anything on the market. Hope you’re having a good summer in the briny 👍
  6. Fisher Engineers to each other: “Looks like the Super Shampoo Stabiliser MK2 was all we needed” 🤔 Probably the best 13 cents you ever spent Clive 👍
  7. Just to lighten up this thread…. GP3500 to SD2100: You tough son of a bitch…….wotcha wearin’ ? SD2100: Full Metal Jacket GP3500: Sssswwwweeeeeeet SD2100: You still da main man though….that GB button is killer GP3500: Yeah but you always got my back if I ever go down SD2100: Thanks Bro……let’s go find some real nuggets
  8. Ooohhh…..those “shark infested waters”…….maybe they will find “snake infested jungle” as well 👍
  9. Sorry no spare vehicle (My 76 Landcruiser is for me)…….I do have a spare SD2100 which means you will find the big ones and not waste too much time chasing the piddly one grammers with the latest machines 😜
  10. Time to go to work…….that’s if I can drive in a straight line 😂
  11. What happens in the goldfields stays in the goldfields 😎
  12. Coffee just blew out my nose……….I just read Gerry’s post and under the PICK section…….on this is priceless. Should do a screenshot before it gets edited. Can you crack a rib from laughing 🤣🤣🤣
  13. Well I have Kiwi neighbours on both sides of my house…….complete with Jandals and Chilly Bins (Simon will understand what I’m saying). It is remote over here……just the way we like it 👍
  14. Meekatharra is not where you would go for a holiday 😳
  15. Okay….where is “there”……Meekatharra or Australia 😂
  16. Hello Paul, Well I might see you out that way…..I’m kind of retiring soon so hopefully will be out and about a bit more. I live in Perth so that’s about 700 kms from Meekatharra. Let me know if there is anyway I can help you out at any time……unfortunately I don’t know where the nuggets are 🤔 Tony
  17. I was doing just fine until I watched “Gold” on Stan 😳
  18. We should be allowed to carry a 9mm pistol if prospecting remotely………it’s a long walk back to camp for the 30.30
  19. Sensational little machine with plenty of power and sensitivity when you need it. You can swing this detector all day with little effort especially in conjunction with the 6” Shooter coil. Highly recommended.
  20. Hello Clive, Regarding the problem with 22K big gold (and 18K to an extent as well)…..I’m sure this is tied in to the AQ’s low pulse width which needs to be longer in order to fully energise these class of targets. I’m guessing a long pulse width and very quick delays don’t play well together?
  21. Clive, Who makes that coil…..is it Fisher’s or from someone else?
  22. Thanks Joe……I suspect the pulse width may be quite low, maybe in order to run those crazy low pulse delays? HH Tony
  23. Does anyone know what the TX pulse width is on the AQ ? I know from previous experience and from some PI machines that I have used (and currently use) that longer TX pulse widths are important to energise the bigger gold rings (which can also be the higher karat ones as well). Typically, greater then 300 uS is needed in order to “light these targets up”. Furthermore, quicker pulse delays are not essential in seeing these bigger targets as the decay drop-off isn’t so pronounced when compared to the smaller profile rings. Tony.
  24. Thought I’d respond to an oldish thread…… The Coiltek Goldstalker 22” DD is bundle wound which helps keep it at a relatively light 1100 grams. Compare this to the smaller but heavier Minelab Commander 18” DD which is around the 1350 grams….ouch. I have recently started some lower beach detecting with my SD2100 and 18” Kevlar Mono coil…..the results have been staggering with some seriously deep old gold rings and “other” stuff. The big monos can suffer from EMI so I am looking at a getting a big DD coil. Anyone care to guess if the big Goldstalker can sniff out the deep stuff and block EMI…….I’m guessing it might be an okay combination. I’d love to get the 18” mono performance without the EMI problems . Thanks Tony PS…Tried the Detech Ultimate DD but being spiral wound made the SD a bit too chatty.
