  1. Ridge Runner not sure of that either I did read something again on Facebook it was said they only shipped the standard package how true that is I do not know
  2. Dilek responded to a reply on Facebook and said they had already shipped the first orders to US and Canada first that was a couple weeks ago not sure about the arriving part though
  3. Does anyone know how many Legends were shipped out in the initial shipment to dealers in the US ??, a couple each 10 each or is this info still unknown Since I am not seeing many post about people receiving their Legend yet I am assuming the initial shipment was not many, which is kind of disconcerting to me, and yes believe me I know what assumption does for someone, if the US and Canada was the first countries to have the Legend shipped to its kind of puzzling why there are not more post being put up giving peoples thoughts on it, I have seen a few in the UK and a couple other countries but I am starting to think things are being held up in customs in the US and Canada which to me is crazy it should not take this long once they have been sent out by the manufacturer Maybe Nokta/Macro can chime in and shed some light on it Appreciate others thoughts
  4. ok some how I ended up with the same video twice so here is the second one I intended to post
  5. These two videos pretty much tells me the legend can pass the test iffy signals posted up with a little tweaking of settings on the legend with out a adjustable iron bias seems pretty dang good to me out of the box.
  6. question on the Iron Bias settings, how many detectors have been produced with an Iron bias setting in the past also how many detectorist have hunted using an iron bias setting I am really on the fence about that one setting being added as to my knowledge I have never used a machine with an Iron bias setting on it, myself I would not know if i have missed something with out it or not because I have never used it, I do detect on fairly hot ground so will the Iron bias make any difference in my detecting,I have read so much crap on where people have talked about the Iron Bias till I have a head ache from reading and watching videos on it, Andy Sabisch has posted up a video on you tube that I have not watched yet explaining things about it so maybe he will shed some light for me but not sure My point is for those of us that have never used a detector with an Iron Bias setting is it going to cause us more headaches trying to learn a new machine or not
  7. I was not saying there is anything wrong with it at all, i am just trying to clear it up in my mind, i am no expert and its been so long since I have detected and I am just getting back into it that I am trying to re learn everything and re understand everything if that makes since my mind just does not seem to pick it up as quickly as it once did and I just did not recall the ground balance having anything to do with the threshold
  8. that does make sense to me but I guess my question is Does the Ground balance play any part in the threshold ??? to put it simpler
  9. There is a debate on another forum about ground balancing a detector this was stated by another poster A POSITIVE ground balance means that the machines threshold INCREASES in volume as the coil is LOWERED TO THE GROUND. A NEGATIVE ground balance means that the machines threshold DECREASES as the coil is LOWERED TO THE GROUND. To achieve a NEUTRAL ground balance you want the machine to do NEITHER as the coil is LOWERED TO THE GROUND. For best results, especially for beginners who might be reading this…you want the machine to be SLIGHTLY POSITIVE…the machines threshold should INCREASE VERY SLIGHTLY as the coil is LOWERED TO THE GROUND. Again…absolutely no disrespect, but this is how this subject has caused SO much confusion over the years. People who have spent hundreds or thousands of hours running a metal detector STILL don’t know the basics of how they work. And ground balancing is about as basic as there is. I just do NOT understand how this can be. can someone explain to me what the purpose of ground balancing a detector as I know what I have been told but just want to make sure I am understanding it correctly this was stated on another site but to me it does not seem totally correct or is it correct everything I understand about ground balancing it does not have anything to do with the threshold or does it just trying to clear this up in my mind
  10. all they relayed to me is they are in the process of developing a new pin pointer that would pair with the legend headphones i took what the reply to my email said is they are developing a whole new pin pointer and it would be a while before it would be out, that is all the info i got, the Bluetooth that the legends headphones connect with is totally different from the simplex plus headphones
  11. i am no beach hunter and no expert with the simplex plus other then I purchased one for my grandson, i have used it a little bit it does have a beach mode which i have not used, what I have seen out of the simplex plus in Arizona though the simplex plus amazes me each time my grandson detects with me, for a $256 detector it detects way above its price point, the ground we have hunted ground balance numbers I have seen on areas we detect runs in the low 80s to high of 94 the simplex ran fairly smooth for the ground we detected, the closest thing to a beach we detected is a tot lot sandbox which had a vary low ground balance number but the sand was totally dry and the depth I personally watched my grandson dig clad coins really surprised, i do not think they have ever been detected it kind of surprised me because they were deeper then the pulse dive pin pointer which is 2-3 inches longer then the original Garrett pro pointer that I purchased in 2010 quite honestly I would not be afraid to take the simplex plus onto a beach in Florida The detecting my grandson has done and the little bit I have done with the simplex plus was with the 9.5 x 5 inch coil but I do not know if i was detecting a beach in Florida that I would use that small coil i would prefer the 11 inch personally but that little 9.5 x 5 is a deadly little coil
  12. I posed the same question in an email to Nokta/Macro and the answer I received back they said the Pulse Dive pin pointer would not pair with the Legend Headphones but they are working on a pin pointer that would but it would not soon be out
  13. I placed a pre order for the Legend pro pack back in late November or the first part of December, don't know why but I just had a gut feeling about it for some reason, and I still have that gut feeling which I have learned a long time ago to go with what my gut is telling me, and if what I am seeing in the simplex plus is any indication I believe the Legend is going to be a fantastic detector, the only other coil I actually want for the Legend is a 9.5 x 5 inch coil like came free with the simplex plus I purchased for my grandson that little coil is deadly on the simplex plus, and does not give away to much depth over the 11 inch
  14. I would not purchase the Eq 600 from amazon or eBay as they charge you tax on most items there are several dealers that you can purchase from that charge no tax and include free shipping if you look around, i do not know if it is permissible to name some of them but do a internet search and steer away from amazon and flea bay
  15. dang did not realize this thread was from January 2020 guess i need to star reading closer
  16. metalman is your pulse dive pointer the 2in1 set or the black one that you can purchase as a stand alone and not really sure it will make a difference I purchased the yellow 2in1 set and I noticed occasionally it would not pick up a small gold ring I wear, what I figured out was if you turn the pulse dive on and if it is near any kind of metal (small gold rings) when you turn it on it de tunes itself and seems to be less sensitive and then will not alert on small targets at all what I figured out is when you turn the pulse dive on make sure it is no where near any kind of metal try what I am saying and see if it makes a difference in other words when you turn on have the pointer in your hand with the tip held straight up away from all metal objects (it even states this in the manual for the pulse dive unit) but like most people i skimmed over that note LOL The only issue I have experienced is my pulse dive will not pair with the green headphones that comes with the simplex plus and I have tried everything nothing seems to work to make the two pair but the green headphones paired with the Simplex Plus without a hitch I purchased the Simplex Plus and the 2in1 pulse dive for my grandson for a birth day present for my grandson, I have already filled out the paper work on Nokta/Macro site and will be sending 2in1 yellow Pulse dive back as they were only delivered on the 13th and just a heads up the issue I am having seems to be a common issue with the pulse dive not pairing with the headphones found that out after many searches on the issue not all but some of the pulse dives seem to have a glitch where it will not pair with the headphones let us know if what i suggest works
  17. I guess I will be a guinea pig since there was something about the legend that triggered me to do a pre order on it, my hopes are it will be all good when i receive it and I wont have to update anything and can just go out and detect because i do not like up dating anything
  18. She did state that some of the changes were easy and a couple of others were not that easy is what I heard unless I miss understood what she was saying
  19. You would think Nokta/Macro would have fixed the issues if they are aware of the issues I went ahead and ordered one found a online store that still had a few with the free 9.5 x 5 inch coil so got one of them on the way also ordered the 2in1 pulse dive pin pointer could not find anyone that had a fisher F Pulse pin pointer in stock so went with the pulse dive unit
  20. can you tell me if i do purchase the simplex plus and experience the things I stated could i downgrade to the 2.77 if i decided to, I did notice Phrunt posted up the 2.77 version where he had saved it to his PC but will his save still work since it is not on the Nokta/Macro site any longer, also wander if the jumpy target IDs and chattiness might be due to running the sensitivity to high I know some of the detectors i have used if I tried to run full sensitivity they would get really chatty don't know if that could make target ID jumpy or not, also noticed some in some videos when using a pin pointer it would get chatty so the pin pointer thing makes me wander also
  21. So you never experienced any of the issues others stated, this is what is making me think twice on the purchase, is conflicting statements some say they never experienced any issues and others say the 2.78 update made the detector seem like it was hitting a wall and lost depth have not seen any post that said target IDs were jumpy or it got chatty, just the loss of depth, the hitting a wall thing I have no clue what they meant by that statement I am almost wandering if those that experienced the things I stated if it was older machines and not the ones that already had the 2.78 version pre installed
  22. Would like to know peoples opinion on the simplex plus with the 2.78 firmware I have been still debating getting one of these for my grandson for his birthday the only ones I can find new all have the 2.78 version, i have read several posts on other forums that once they upgraded to the 2.78 that it made the simplex plus seem like it was hitting a wall and seemed to loose depth has anyone experienced this I also read that a lot of users felt the 2.77 version was better than the 2.78 version would also like to know if I can downgrade the new Simplex Plus that already has the 2.78 firmware version down to the 2.77 if I decided to, since the 2.77 is not available on the Nokta/Macro website any longer I have never personally had a Simplex plus in my hands to say one way or the other as to which version is or was better or am i just over thinking this whole purchase what ever I am going to do I need to do it soon as my grandsons birthday is inching ever so close and I am getting headaches just thinking about whether to make this purchase the things we do for our grand kids LOL thanks for reading all opinions welcome
  23. thank you Mr Herschbach and Valens Legacy for the replies i am just happy to still be breathing (well kind of ) my Dr keeps telling me i need to get out and walk so i figure what better way to do it then metal detecting had to move in with my daughter because of everything that has gone on but they are having a small guest house built for me to live in on their property behind their main home, don't know what i would have done if it had not been for them
  24. It has been a rough almost three years for me phrunt things are starting to look up though thank God two months ago i almost met my maker but pulled through it I am still not breathing good though
  25. it has been over two years since I have been able to pick up a detector so you will have to forgive my stupidity on what they do its kind of like the detecting sites I am having to re learn where everything is
